Yes. You just need change your settings to the Japanese iTunes store. There's also the matter of getting credit, as I think you cannot get in without a japanese credit card... but there are ways around that.

Also I have high hopes for this getting localised seeing how it's a mainstream GS game and not a spin off of some form.
Otherwise it'd be the most cruel trick in the book of Capcom to do such a thing but with all the attention Phoenix has been getting lately it would seem AA is on the rise to me.

I've been waiting for this for a while, I didn't think they were going to announce it. I think it will be phoenix, as the logo, (Besides the 5) is in Blue, like phoenix's games were.

Trust me, I played GK2, and while it was neat, it never gave me that feeling of loving a character that I feel with the main GS games. I think getting GS5 should be priority above getting GK2, really.

However, I wouldn't mind it if Polly, finding out that he was just a pawn in Nick's plan, gets depressed and leaves, and Nick gets his badge back and defends people, but then Polly comes back in the last case as the attorney. (...Although that's just copying Edgey's arc, isn't it?)

The rerelease of the first three games is going to be sold under a subtitle that more or less means "The Phoenix Wright/Naruhodou Ryuuichi Saga". Doesn't that imply that they consider that Saga complete? Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but that's what it sounds like to me.
Again, I love Phoenix, but 3 games, plus a crucial role in a fourth, plus a crossover are just more than enough. There's only so much you can develope a character until it turns unbelievable. There's a reason why games that are very reliant on plot, like AA, tend to switch main character once in a while.

I'm reading the articles, and I was about to comment on that :P So, I mean... that's also why there's no GS4 (in addition to it being a bit more difficult to port b/c it's a DS game); they're specifically releasing it as Nick's games.

And I've been so distracted by exams that I forgot the tenth anniversary court event was last night. 
My expectations were very low. Which just makes this even better news. Honestly, I really hope that Apollo is the protagonist, but after reading this thread I am not sure what to think. Guess all we can do is wait for more info... Does anybody know whether it's Eshiro or Takumi or someone else who's in charge of this? Who was the one that announced the news, anyway?Please, please be an Apollo game.
Also, since AJ didn't have a case that was really personal to Apollo.. I really hope to see some more angst and/or conflict from the protagonists this time.. Just like someone said earlier in the thread, I want Trucy to be screwed over in this game.. 
An Apollo Justice trilogy would answer all my prayers. (Although it seems a bit unlikely... *sigh*)

In any event, I wouldn't read too much into it - the booklet also had plenty of new art for Phoenix and Edgeworth.

It's commonly accepted that the assistants get tormented to hell and back, true. (And the one person who said that Kay never got that, pre-GK2 or no, well... Replay AAI and check the cases again, please).
