AJ does sound like an okay nickname, but I still don't like Apollo Justice. I'll give the localization team some slack though, it's uncommon to replace old brilliance with brilliance....
Already been mentioned, but Apollo is supposed to be a Greek god. Very legend-like. Phoenix, a bird of fire who can never 'truely' die, is also a legend.
So I am thinking that Capcom will be naming main character defense attorneys with names that come from legends, myths... etc.
But Phoenix was named that way for the fact that he can 'turn the tables around'. So on that part, I don't get where Apollo came from. Maybe Capcom will reveal that to us someday. :P
Anyway, I'm still a-ok with the name...
Perhaps they'll claim that AJ has a prophecy to fulfill. Others mentioned that Apollo being affiliated with sun and light correlates with a fiery passion.
Doesn't really seem like a good link, rather Hestia/Vesta would've fit more into that concept.
