Didn't they say that Atroquinine (Kris' poison of choice) could be made from a Borginian Cocoon? In order to get his hands on it he would have had to import it illegally. Instant connection.

And even if Kristoph were to appear in another game, it doesn't necessarily follow that you'd be proving him guilty. He could appear as a witness; kind of like Apollo's Hannibal Lector.

Well they said that a poison can be made from the Borginian cocoons, but I don't think they ever said that that poison was atroquinine. (Although on the other hand, they never denied it.)

And, I mean, if they could bring Kristoph back if they really want, but I think he's still basically been resolved. We still don't know exactly why Magnifi sent Thalassa away or about Polly's father, but I don't think they really need Kristoph to address those >_>

Well at this point we don't need anything. But Kristoph is still appearing in official art and being treated as part of AJ's main cast - there's no harm in keeping him relevant, and it's something they haven't done in the series before (or at least, not in a way that especially mattered, unlike a certain cameo in AAI2).

I would link the fanfic now, hadn't I lost the link to it (I kinda hate myself for that... It was on FF dot net. If you ever find a One Shot fanfic about Apollo and Klavier feeding ducks while discussing stuff; That's the one), but personally, I too think nothing is wrong with negative character developement as long as it's done RIGHT.

I think I know which fanfiction you're talking about :D
--
I think because we've seen a lot of Mia, there's good chance we can see more of Kristoph because he's the one who taught Apollo what he knows about the law. At the very least, we'll have mentions of him in GS5... I think that's almost unavoidable if Apollo is to be the main character. We know pretty much nothing about his (Apollo's) past which is really weird in comparison to what we know about Phoenix's. Is it really possible to learn more and not have any mention of Kristoph at all?

I'll quote all the rest here and say - this is great! Although I'd liked a concluding 3rd part to the Gyakuten Kenji series.

Nonetheless, I know it will be an awesome game (since there 6 games in the series and 6 amazing games), but I have but one demand: they just HAVE to add the 3rd and final confrontation song. The music is a big part of the Gyakuten games for me, and in my mind, the addition of this song in the Gyakuten Kenji series has made the games at least 25% better.

Eitherway, can't wait! :javado:

I just hope Apollo Justice gets some actual fleshing out in this game (if he even appears). I really think he deserved more. :sadshoe:
Hopefully, Capcom will also release AAI2 once they're done with AA5 seeing as how they focusing on that title right now.

Hi All,

Just wanted to let those interested know that Gyakuten Saiban 123 HD is available for IOS in the Japanese AppStore to download now :) enjoy!

For those wondering, there is no English language option unfortunately. Hopefully this comes out for the west soon, and not take as long as Ghost Trick to come out.

Can you provide the URL? I'd do the magic myself, except I'm currently in the middle of a full restore of my iPhone (which will take me the better part of the day, silly giant music collection), and well, I can't check in my bogus account if I'm still using my normal one.

Yeah yeah, double post. But I'm an admin. I can be a hypocrite.

Realizing for a moment that I have an old computer, I was able to break into the Japanese iTunes store...

... or not. Unlike New Zealand, iTunes Japan doesn't allow you to enter without a credit card or some similar which I don't have for Japan. So it's a no go for me for seeing what goodies lie within.

But, if any CR members have managed to download any of the games I'd be 'very' interested in hearing from you.

Incredible, I can't belive AA5 is being announced!

Do you think other characters that didn't appear before will appear if this is all set in the future after AA4? For example, will an older Maya appear?

They should make it epic and have a lot of the prominent characters from the other games{such as the AAI/GK series} appear at some point. It be interesting to see their new designs. Do you think anybody got married in that time frame? :udgy:

EDIT:
Finding out about the announcement yesterday gave me so much inspiration that I saw/remembered the same art sequence from 1-2 years ago when GK2 was announced that I never got to draw{It's like, I saw it in my mind and it just played out this way on it's own, dialogue and all.}:

Is there a hide tag on the forums?

I wish I had seen this announcement sooner, I'm hyped! I wonder what GS5 will be about? I felt inspired enough to be able to draw the sequential art above!^^^^^

Again, the "HD-sprites", are actually the original artwork the sprites were based on, used almost unaltered. The animation/artwork artist of the first AA games -excuse me - wasn't exactly a great talent. He could draw, but not all too well and he clearly fumbled around at some parts and had trouble drawing girl faces (Poor Maya and Mia...). The sprites used in-game in the GBA and NDS versions were cleaned up by sprite artists and thus the mistakes of the original artist weren't too prominent. However, in this HD version, those improvements are all gone, thus Maya has the square chin the original artist drew her with and Mia has kind of a derp face. And Nick's knuckles... OHHHH those knuckles...

So what do you think they will add to the game mechanics in GS5? In the future timeline, Do you think Edgeworth will still be a prosecutor? Retired? Defense Attorney? What's gumshoe doing? Why do I get the feeling Maya is very different in the future timeline? D:

Anyways, here's a future Kay and Edgeworth pic. I was gonna try and guess their designs, but I chickened out sorta. D: The differences I made are minimal. I don't know if to wait or if to try my hand at it again later. Even as we speak, I bet the characters are being constantly designed and redesigned at this moment until they find something fitting.

Information usually gets released in Famitsu or Nintendo Dream, right? We'll just have to wait for articles to pop up...

The games have been released an average of every other year, which means GS5 will be released in 2013 if it follows the pattern. There's E3, but I don't think we'll see it there since it's kinda early, and it's an American show. We might see something at TGS, since it's a bit later in the year (and hence closer to 2013, and GS5's probable release date)

Didn't this GS5 dodge Famitsu though? Was a complete surprise for us, remember getting rather downhearted before the event cause we'd had no hints or anything.

I'm not going to harass them for details though, GS5's existence at all is a blessing. So long as it's coming I can wait.

The fact we got pretty much nothing but a logo suggests to me that the game had only barely gotten green-lit before the event, and most likely isn't in full development yet. I imagine we won't be hearing anything more until TGS.

TGS is September 20th, so we've got ~6 months to go before we learn anything of stature. Hopefully we won't notice due to Layton vs Ace Attorney.

Speaking of which, the AA anneversary is over.... So we should be seeing some Layton stuff soon-ish? Is there going to be a Level-5 world event this year? If not there's the off chance we might get something at E3.

They haven't announced a Level-5 World 2012 yet, though I'm sure there will be one. If there is, though, it won't take place until after TGS, so it's not like that makes much of a difference.

We actually have very little indication as to how far PLvsAA is along in development, and Level-5 is known for their long development times, so I wouldn't expect PLvsAA to hit anytime particularly soon. As for news, we could get some in Famitsu at some point or another, but I can't think of any specific timeframe.

As for the localization side of things, Captivate 2012 is from April 2nd to April 4th, so we might get some indication there of localization plans, though it's doubtful since Level-5 is in charge of publishing in America. And though it would be nice, it's probably too early for them to confirm a GS5 localization.

tl;dr - we're probably in for another news drought. :yuusaku:

You sure about Level-5 publishing? The only things I'm aware of is that Takumi is in charge of the scenario, and while unsaid, the cutscenes by Level-5. Other then that I'm in the dark regarding what responsibilities fall upon which studio. Everything else is hearsay.

From what I understand, Capcom (Takumi) will be writing the scenario, design the characters and work on the gameplay, while Level-5 will be doing pretty much everythhing else (graphics, coding, etc...).
And yes, the game is published by Level-5. They even had a poll a few months ago, where they ask players what game they wanted them to localise next... and PL vs AA actually won the poll (or got 2nd), if I remember correctly.

Thanks for that Jozerick. And now that I've been playing around a little bit… the download was rather large, which makes me think they snuck in more then what was listed. But, Edgeworth doesn't blink so that wasn't it.

The Objection Generator no longer links to the android version. It seems to go indirectly to the App Store, but something errored out on me. Might've linked to the game when I was on the update page for said game. But I don't see how that could've caused a conflict. (And actually the animation while scrolling through all the lawyers seems much worse then before)

I could've sworn there was some GS Movie stuff before. But I can't seem to find it any more.

Henke was ripping the Security video from GS1, and I mentioned that the DS version was much superior to the HD version. It's garbage, but I figured someone here might be curious about it.

Wow... I guess they couldn't be bothered with porting the 3D scene and enhancing texture quality (and maybe upping polygon count, if necessary).

Even if they just ported the original 3D scene without updating the textures (which are likely low quality on the DS), it would still look better than this. It looks like they just touched up the drawings on an animated storyboard (horrible bobbing walk animation and all) and went with that.

And the Blue Badger isn't even moving properly... Out of curiosity, what does that animation (in front of the police station) look like in 123HD? Based on how it looked on the DS (specifically, the aliasing), the Blue Badger animation was also rendered in 3D.

Actually, in the studio they may have indeed been 3D, but on the DS they're actually just a sequence of uncompressed frames. Both the badger and the security tape that is.

As for the "Dancing" Blue Badger. He only has 1 frame. The one that breaks down in the credits however is TWICE as good. It has TWO frames.

Yes that's right. You see the blue badger and then without explanation it's a heap on the ground.

Ah... that would make it much easier to rewind and fast forward stuff. Wait... DUH, of course it would be a sequence of frames: it was originally on the GBA. The rendition looked like it could have been 3D on the DS, but it did look a bit too clean...

Although, the Blue Badger animation could have been rendered with sprite manipulation on the GBA, but I guess they went the easier route. Nothing wrong with that, of course: just look at Ghost Trick.

Hmm... the opening sequence in Case 5 was done in 3D though... right? It makes sense, being made for the DS, but just wondering...

EDIT: stupid me, thinking that these sequences weren't from Case 5.

Anyway, So for 123HD they would have either had to re-render the sequence in a higher resolution or they would have to port the animation from the studio renderer into the game. The prior should be easy to do, and would be feasible to put in the game using video compression. I wonder if they were just lazy or if they didn't have access to the original animation.

Thanks for the video, I was curious about that. Even if it's crap, it's actually not as bad as what I imagined when I looked at the sprite sheets.
Still, I wonder why they went through the trouble of re-making the video with sprites instead of just doing the same thing as the DS version. Maybe it would have made the game too big?

Wait... DUH, of course it would be a sequence of frames: it was originally on the GBA.

Was it? I thought it was exclusive to the DS version.

I'm surprised they haven't announced an actual release date yet. I wonder when they will announce it.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.
