This zip should be the complete package. I already extracted everything together in the right place, so no extra installation should be required. Downloads from PyWright updater have to work from the interface alone with no extra steps required, so it had to be that way.

Just checked it out for myself and it is indeed. Sorry, it was the smaller size of the zip that threw me off.

-I keep getting these messages as the one you can see in the left picture.
-Also, some of the evidence pictures are white, as you can see in the middle picture.
-And my last problem is that I can't read the bellboy's affidavit (as can be seen in the right picture) nor any other evidence I got after that one, like the bullet holes, the statue or the elevator.

I hope I didn't do anything wrong, and I certainly hope I don't have to start all over again.
BTW, I am at the second trial-part in the game. Just started questioning Maris.

The Penalty-Threat Problem
Are you running the latest version of PyWright (0.9861)? You may be running an older version that doesn't support the "penalty threat" codes. It's recommended to run the latest version for newer commands.

The Missing Evidence Problem
1: Did you replace ALL files and folders in the "PW - Contempt of Court" folder? Keep in mind that you need Turnabout Scapegoat already installed for Haunted to work correctly.
2: It may be something to do with the evidence.txt file. I know you don't want to start the game over, but sometimes starting a New Game "corrects" the evidence problem. You could try it out.
Spoiler:
In intro.txt, try adding the line "addev bellaffidavit" and then start a new game. See if you can read the affidavit now.

Thank you very much. The Penalty-Threat Problem was solved after updating PyWright.
And about the Missing Evidence, I did replace all files, I can see the immages. And the line I added in the intro worked. I could read the affidavit.
So now the only problem is that I don't have it working in my saved file. Is there a possibility to get it working and still continue from where I left of (or close to it)?

If you upload your save I can add the evidence for you. It will be in PyWright/games/Pw Contempt of Court/Haunted turnabout/save.ns (or autosave.ns for the auto save version).

Hmm if you're in the second investigation, you might have to start it again I'm afraid. Saluk could try to get you to where you were, but the problem lies with the "flags" that control what happens during the course of the game. If your new save started at the exact point you were at, you'd have the proper evidence sure, but all flags so far wouldn't be activated and you may find yourself wandering around with nothing happening.

Unless Saluk can resolve the flag problem? If not, I have the code to start the second investigation again.

Actually, there shouldn't be a problem. I'm not giving him a new save, I just edited his exact save file to insert all the proper evidence descriptions. I believe that was the only problem he is still having? Because the evidence.txt is only run when a new game is started, and he ran a new game with an outdated evidence.txt file. Then the lack of definitions carried through into his saved game.

Edit: I just finished the haunted turnabout and it was awesome!
I found it a little less epic than the first case, but it still was very good!
Especially liked the plot twists.
Really looking forward to the next case. Keep up the good work!

Yeah I found it to be the "difficult second album". I took on a completely different approach with Haunted and this time actually planned it all (as opposed to Scapegoat which was mostly ad-libbed). I'm doing the same with Turnabout Of The Snow, which so far is looking to be a huge and complex case. And without giving anything away, some of the events of Scapegoat will be involved somehow.

Good to hear, I really like huge and complex cases :P.
One thing I thought was weird about The Haunted turnabout:
Spoiler:
When you have to present the metal ball as evidence for the killer to build a wall before room 106. It felt weird. First of all, there were more reasons for the killer to put the wall there. The most obvious one being the statue. And second of all, I he build a wall to hide something, he certainly wouldn't have done it for just a metal ball. He could have just thrown it outside in the garden instead of going through the trouble of building a wall.
I understand it must have been hard to link it to the rest of the trial, but it just felt a little out of place to me.

Other than that, the case was brilliant. I also really liked the end, in the train. It was just epic discovering who that weird 'police officer' was and why he was there. Brilliant plot twists as well. (I love plot twists)

Lol I admit that sometimes you just have to go with it. :gant: I never pick up on these sorts of illogicalities that the players find, sometimes they're just unavoidable and risk ruining a huge chunk of the script.
And I'm glad you liked the train part, I was afraid that I made Greisen waffle too much and confuse the player.

I'm really sorry if this has been posted before but I did google this and look through some of this pages posts but I think there's a problem with my game in Turnabout Scapegoat

Spoiler:
During one of Titus's testimonies, according to the walkthrough I should have a piece of evidence labeled 'Piece of Rubber' so that I could present it when Titus says "While being pursued, I hid myself in a small gorge. I never set foot in my house!" I do not have that piece of evidence, please help me

Thank you :edgy:

Many people have come across this in the past, which I find strange because from what I can see there's no reason for this :eh?: In any case, here's a way to get the Piece of Rubber in your Court Record:
Spoiler:
- Open "scene44titustestimony2.script"
- Find the line "label press titus2A", make another line under it and type "addev rubber" (minus the quotations).
- Go back into the game and press Krump's first statement. This should add the scraps to your Court Record

I just finished playing through case 2. That was incredible. The music choices were excellent and the writing was spot on. I can tell a lot of thought went into this case. I also played case 1 a little while back and I'm very impressed with the quality of both. I don't have much to say except keep up the good work. Very inspirational stuff.

Hey everyone! :will: Sorry for the long void of silence, but as of late I barely had time to work on Case 3... until last Tuesday when I broke up from uni, now I have a whole four months off to work on it.

However, don't expect anything yet. It's still in a very early stage as far as scripting goes (in comparison to the size of the case) and the overall story still has a dozen loose ends I need to tie up.

To at least show that the case is in the works, I've taken a few screenshots. At this stage of development, I found it difficult to find parts of the case so far that would explain what's going on... but enough waffling, here they be:

Spoiler: Case 3 Screenshots

On a side note, I was bored once and decided to clean up all of Brisbane's forward-facing sprites. You can see a couple of examples below:

That's pretty much it for now, I'll try and be more informative from now on. :garyuu:

I even made him an animation where he brushes it back and adopts Krump's posture, so there's no instant snap-between-the-two-sprites. :P

He randomly goes into his Krump persona. He even does the "dramatic hand" pose. Not in a split-personality way though, it's just Vulper trolling. :garyuu:

The game? Never played it. I completely made Smith up, his appearance was taken straight from the character I made for Saints Row: The Third. I gave him the long face on purpose to reflect his personality.
And I assure you Vulper's chin has been left exactly the same. His head is lowered slightly (like in his old "grin" poses) so maybe that's why it looks that way.

Hey everyone, just a small but wordy update.

STORY
The story in general still has a dozen holes and loose ends to tie up; I don't even know how it will all end yet. I also worry that the story won't play out very well over the courtroom sections, but what I'm trying to do is just go with it anyway like I did in Scapegoat and just see what happens. I like to lay it all down rough first, then go back and see what works, what doesn't work, what needs expanding upon, what needs cutting entirely, etc. And considering the size and complexity of this case so far, it's pretty daunting.
In time, I think I might let some people on here read the script and see what they think. I recently realised that I don't like being so introverted about my game, and sometimes it's nice to get an outsider's point of view for a change (like how I once asked Ping' to verify my main antagonist). So that's something that I'll consider for the near future.

SCRIPTING
Scripting's coming along pretty well so far. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have some difficulty writing interesting dialogue this time around though, Maya in particular is really annoying to script. I like her as a character, but I just don't enjoy writing her. I'm finding it really hard to include her, and trying to make the dialogue between her and Nick humourous. Without giving anything away, she'll be going back to Kurain Village at some point. I guess I kinda miss writing for Nick when he's on his own.
Oh, and I have no idea on an intro yet. I want to go all "creepy and mysterious" again like I did in The Haunted Turnabout's intro, and I DO have an idea of what to include... but ultimately nothing has been made of the intro yet.

SPRITING
I have a few new sprites in the bag, namely those of Renwick Smith, the replacement detective. Vulper's new "prison" sprites are more or less done I think - the only sprites I need to make for him now are "prison" versions of his old sprites (Cheesy Grin, Eyes Glowing With Anger, and so on). I have a few sprites for the main antagonist too, but I'll focus more on him when his time comes.

MUSIC
Music choice is pretty hard for me in this case, especially trying to find a theme for Renwick. I had a few in mind, but they either didn't work or got really grating after hearing them so many times. Some tracks from Turnabout Scapegoat and The Haunted Turnabout will pop up, too.

MISC.
What I also do is draw some of the "flashback images" myself (like the two images of Maris in The Haunted Turnabout). So that's something I'll try to include more of in this case.

Thanks for reading :)

It is interesting. If you don't mind, I would like to look on your script. I have some ideas in mind. If you need my email, drop a message.

Really? Awesome! It's in a mess of several Word files right now, so when I manage to get it all together in a presentable way I'll let you know. :)
I'll try and keep it as simple as I can, but I feel that everything needs to be included - such as characters, and their backstories and POVs - in order for it all to make sense. Still interested?

That one guy from AAO that made about a dozen cases that all kinda go off the deep end and fall apart at one point or another.

I use Notepad to script the game, I use Word to write notes and plan the whole thing.
