Prometheus [2012 Film]

Anyone here seen it? I personally loved it. A lot of my friends [most of whom were fans of "Alien"] were disappointed, mainly because they wanted a more direct Alien prequel and didn't like the script by "Lost Writer" Damon Lindelof. didn't like the film at all, though. I have never seen any of the Alien movies, but I thought Prometheus was really good. It seemed like a faster-paced 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Anyway, what were your opinions on it?
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Yeah I know what you mean. A lot of science fiction films lately have had this issue. I still really enjoyed it though.
Are the Alien movies a lot like Prometheus? I've been planning on watching them.
