I also think that the random generation might work a little different, but I'm not too sure. Since parts of the puzzles are randomly generated, so you can't just look them up online or just do on Normal Mode and then repeat on Hard Mode.

Well then, I think I won't bother with Hard mode then, if that's the onl difference (plus, some of the dialogues were great).
Thanks for the answer!

If you want to see all endings you have to play on hard mode.

Keep in mind you do miss out on something big unless you do/redo all of the puzzle rooms on Hard Mode.

More specifically

Spoiler: Kind of spoilers, but no explicit plot details
An alternate ending that leads up to Volume 3.

So, I've been wondering about this...
Spoiler: Same spoilers as Alkolto's post above
I want to hear all of the dialog, but I don't want to miss out on a whole other ending. Would I be able to do the rooms on normal, then go back and do them on hard to get the ending?

Oh god where are my legs

I'm pretty sure once you switch off Hard Mode that you can't switch back unless you restart the puzzle, though.

Yeah, that's right.

But you can still do it in either difficulty at any time
(You just gotta start from the beginning if you're in easy, and want to switch to hard... But there's nothing to stop you from saving, switching to easy mode, getting the hints you need to solve the puzzle, then resetting.)

By the way, just wondering.... what with the random elements and all... Please tell me, there's no sudoku in that game? Pretty please? Pretty pretty please? :larry:

The sudokus were the only two puzzles I actually needed to use a FAQ for, I just can't stand those :yuusaku:

That, or one of those annoying pane-sliding puzzles.

Heads up, if you live in the US and missed out on the pre-order bonus they're releasing a second way of pre-orders with the watch on Friday (September 28th). They'll probably sell out quickly again, so you'll have to be quick.

Maybe I should pre-order it for the watch and then just sell the game itself on eBay...

I'm getting it again for the voice acting (Even if K, Tenmyouji, and Zero III are meh) , the watch, and the localization. Mainly the localization.

I only just got my Japanese 3DS, and I only have 2 games for it. Terry's Wonderland 3DS and Code of Princess.

I'm probably going to get Project X Zone since the chances of that getting a Western release is approaching zero. Other than that, I can really only think of Gyakuten Saiban 5 and Layton Kyouju vs Gyakuten Saiban that really stick out as being something that I'm probably going to import.

I would not be able to just have a JP 3DS. There would be so many games that I wouldn't see really worth importing. And playing EVERYTHING in Japanese would probably drive me insane.

I just can't wait for Agatsuma Entertainement to get a publisher asap. They've already confirmed a European release, back in July, but they haven't given us any update since then... Please don't tell me they didn't find a publisher : /

By the way, Virtue's Last Reward's pretty much guaranteed to have a PEGI 18 rating, Amazon.co.uk just updated the product info for the game... but my local Amazon STILL doesn't list the game... come on, I wanna pre-order this sooo badly ;__;

Don't worry. I asked RSG and they said they will publish the game everywhere in Europe, so your local Amazon should get it soon.

Btw. the Vita demo will be live next tuesday and the 3DS demo most likely next thursday. Of course only in North America.

It's good, but I haven't gotten much time to play it. And it's also not a game that I can sit down and play for hours either.

For UK users, VLR (3DS) is up for pre order at Tesco Entertainment for a very reasonable £22.50
Question is, do I tell my family I want it for Xmas when I dont have a 3DS yet? xD

There is an "Interviews" folder on the Media page. Click on that.

It's interesting to see that 999 was far more popular in the US than in Japan.

Heh, silly developer (on second page of interview).

Nice interview.

That's why VLR has a little more focus on the US than just Japan. Maybe if it sells even better in Europe the third game will be a little more Europe focused.

It's not really a spoiler. It should pretty much be expected, especially by anyone who played 999.

Regarding the rating, it could be just a test cover? Amazon still say its PEGI 18 (and PEGI dont have a rating on their site yet).

Amazon says PEGI 18 on the 3DS and PEGI 12 on the VITA site, so obviously these ratings cannot be trusted. And if it were a test cover then they would have displayed a "rating pending" logo or something like that.
Btw. why should there be any problem with a PEGI 16 rating? :yuusaku:

Not really, its just a lot of us seem to expect an 18 rating so I hope it isnt censored. At PEGI 16, the violence is usually "realistic looking against human characters" or something.
Also, I'm confused as to whether the EU version of VLR has voice tracks in English AND Japanese or just Japanese?

The Vita Demo came out a few hours ago, with English voice acting.

Oh God, Zero III's voice acting. I can see what they're getting at... But I prefer his Japanese Seiyu.
