And now I know what to put on that empty spot on my door, spacey enough for one large poster~.

I wish they had done the sketchy style not only for the background characters. As it is now, Layton, Luke, Phoenix and Maya kinda seem out of place (yes, they also stand out more, but I like the sketchy style...)

I was wondering when a high-quality version of this would crop up. Thanks, JapaneseGIRL!

Is that Valant's cane I see in the background? Or not...
....

Probably not...

Cleverly designed i think, since it takes place in a world that is based on lies and a storybook the scetchy style suits that, whereas the characters based in reality (layton, luke, nick and maya) are in bold showing they are the selling point of the game. Also it shows the the plot revolves around Mahoney as she is centered in the middle pleading in amongst every other character.
clever designer and their little nuances :garyuu:

Unlikely, the puzzles are made in advance and slowly unlocked by online communication. It's free on disc dlc.

Yes, but it feels strange that only Layton would get dlc, even if it's just on disc dlc.

I recall them sending out additional puzzles over wifi back in the day I think.

Either way Nintendo is getting brave with DLC. Puzzles could easily be done as DLC.

What I'm wondering is if they'll introduce perhaps simple trial-only cases as DLC.

Alright then, I still think it's a possibility now.

In fact it's 3DS, it probably won't be DLC as such as it is streetpass gifts now and then.

I love the sketchy style they used for the background. It gave the art a more traditional and earthy feel compared to the modern, bold and strong-impressioned ensemble of Phoenix, Maya, Luke and Layton. Their strong realistic style of drawing captures a vivid sense of realism not seen in the background. I'd like to give praise as well for the wonderful color scheme they used. It's cool in the eyes yet vibrant enough to paint the picture easily without being overly-dramatic. And the little details, such as the flowers, the clouds behind, the path the four are stepping on, all gave life to the picture. None of which were fillers.

I must say I'm very satisfied as to how the boxart turned out. I am truly ECSTATIC for the game to come out soon.

On the EU cover Layton will be enlarged by 400% to ensure a high number of sells.

On the US cover, Luke and Maya will have angry eyebrows to make the game look more hardcore.

If any cover gets a row of 4 protagonists in simple boxes, I will scream bloody murder. And then there will be murder.

If that happens i'll join you.

no but what i mean is that since japanese games generally have different covers to western releases would ours be that shot, or would it be a different rendition, like the mock/fake fan covers
