The new quiz (Oct 4th) from the website:

Quote:
~Break Down the Witness Testimony~

The murder happened on the streets of a residential area. Around 3AM, when few people were around, the victim was stabbed in his lower abdomen with a sharp, bladed object and died of excessive blood loss.

When a police officer on patrol discovered the body, he found a drunken company worker lying next to the victim, with the murder weapon in his hands. The man was thus arrested red handed. The company worker was drunken and with no memory of what happened, he was not able to shake off the suspicion and was charged for murder.

Believing in the defendant's innocense, defense attorney Phoenix Wright took up the job of defending him, but he is heading for big trouble at the moment. Because that day, the witness for the prosecution came up with a fatal testimony. The witness said he did not want to get involved with something messy, so he did not report it initially, but his concience pestered him until he finally became a witness.

Witness: "I was walking to the train station that day and there were two men having an argument on the street. I didn't want to get caught up with that, so I pretended not to have seen them and walked quickly past them in the hopes they wouldn't notice me. Right then, one of them suddenly pushed the other against a wall, and pulled a knife from his breast pocket. The man raised the knife high above his head and then stabbed the victim like that!".

Judge: "Hmmm. This can be considered a decisive testimony. A crime that happened because of an argument... I have to be careful too".

Phoenix: "Wh.. what?!".

Judge: "I might get stabbed too because of an argument here in the courtroom".

Phoenix: "(The judge... he is staring at me!)".

Judge: "Anyway, it is time for the defense's cross-examination".

Phoenix: "(... This is bad. If his testimony is true, then the defendant is guilty. But I somehow have the feeling there was a <<contradiction>> in that testimony!)"

Phoenix: "Are you sure the defendant is the man who was having an argument with the victim?".
Witness: "Yes. It was in the middle of the night, but there were lights on the street, so I could see the faces of both men clearly".
Phoenix: "The defendant was found drunk and asleep. Would someone who had drunk that much have been able to push an adult man without any resistance?".
Witness: "The defendant is a lot taller than the victim. No matter how drunk he was, the difference in strength was just too big, I think".

Phoenix looked at the court records. The defendant was 185cm tall, muscular, while the victim was 160cm and skinny. With this big a difference in physique, the crime could have been possible even if a bit drunk. But Phoenix noticed something while he was checking the court records.

"Objection! There is an contradiction in the witness testimony!"

What is the contradiction Phoenix noticed?

Spoiler: He raised the knife -> The victim's body
Correct

Phoenix: "Please look at the court records. The defendant died by being stabbed in his lower abdomen. But if the tall defendant raised the knife high above his head and stabbed the victim like that like in your testimony, the knife would have never stabbed the lower abdomen!".
Witness: "Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

When Phoenix started to examine him more, the witness finally admitted he provided false testimony. The witness was actually the murderer and he tried to pin the guilt on the company worker who just happened to have been asleep there.

Am I this bad at deducing that I haven't answered any of the quizzes right at the first time? It really creeps me out somehow. :eh?:

Thanks for the awesome quiz. It's a great warm-up for GS5.

When I found the contradiction, it was hilariously abrupt. Just two sentences (or something like that) which sums up a lot of the ace attorney trials
I'm So Meta, Even This Acronym

But in all honesty, META humour sucks.

Wasn't bad, but it wasn't as interesting as the other one we had. At least it's easier for those who don't speak Japanese.

Got it the first time. :)

I know absolutely nothing about kanji (although I've memorized both hiragana and katakana), so I had to check all the options of the last one lol

Bad mystery, I'm disappointed in whoever wrote this.
Spoiler:
The murderer should know where the wound on the guy he killed was, and thus shouldn't make this kind of mistake

Oh well, as long as they don't do this kind of thing in the actual game (and they haven't xP)

Thanks, Ash!
