Kotaku has recently posted a brief summery of the behind the scenes features. They go into some detail about Takumi's involvement in the movie's direction, and how some of the special effects were performed.

Thanks to Hoso Boso for the heads up!

Phoenix was astonished at the size of the autopsy report, he required some extra help when presenting the evidence.

OK....I'm officially excited... :will:
But when was there an actual "fight scene"? :karate:
Some secret wait to be discovered...some never are...
Some secrets lay in the shadows...and Justice is the Light...

Thanks to the movie, I see Narumiya before my mental eye now everytime I read Nick's sprite-less dialouge in the games. His preformance was just THAT brilliant. And that picture of him golding the green... billboard... thing... looks just so... so... "Nick". X'D

Despite not being crazy about the movie directing/editing, I still really want to see those special features. Hope a US release comes out soon.

Has there been any word about a sequel? If I remember correctly it did well in theatres, right?
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

It did 'okay'. Not particularly special, if memory serves. Takumi and Miike did bounce around ideas in an interview about Hobo's disbarment, but that was a off the cuff thing.

Well that would probably be the only way to have Phoenix be interesting on the big screen again. On the other hand, that probably wouldn't work on such a shock/emotion value as it did in the games since we've only had 2 hours with Movie Phoenix. Reasons like this is why I think any more Phoenix live-action projects should really be television/mini-series. It's just not the kind of narrative that really works as a movie. That's probably why there aren't that many "lawyer" movies like the GS movie. All the big "law" movies I can think of [Philadephia, Twelve Angry Men, A few good men, etc.] have to deal with specific aspects of the law or cases which are different from traditional homicide cases. The issues I had with the movie were more based on the limitations they had to work with [Time, Movie format, literal adaptation, etc.] rather than any missteps from the crew themselves.

Still, once they had the first movie/introductions out of the way they have a lot more time for development. I'd hope if they had a good idea and the director really wanted to return to the universe they'd be able to do it.

Was it really critically well received? Because if it was that might give them a better chance.
