Nintendo of Europe just started a neat little promotion, which allows you to get one free 3DS game if you register your Nintendo 3DS XL before January 15th. One of the game you can chose is... Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. (The others are Super Mario 3D Land, Style Savvy/New Style Boutique, Freakyforms Deluxe or New Art Academy).
It also works if you've already registered your Nintendo 3DS XL, just go to 'My Account' after logging in on the Nintendo website, and you should see the banner to claim your game.

Then, they'll send you a download code you'll have to register in the Nintendo eShop, so you can download the game.

Oh, one little precision :
Quote:
This promotion is valid for residents of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Russia.

And of course, only Europeans 3DS XL are concerned, since you can't registre a foreign console on the European Club Nintendo. Click here to read the Terms and Conditions.

So (some) original 3DS owners get 10 GBA and SNES games and they helped the product get off the ground, new 3DS XL owners get a free fully priced 3DS game......

I'm not sure it's an equal trade off or not.

Thats a pretty sweet deal.

But I'm afraid it's not good enough to make me abandon my 3DS for a bigger one + a free game. If I did not have a 3DS though I would totally get it.
Face your emptiness don't be afraid. The danger is often smaller than your fear.

Be sure to ask for a 3DS XL, it doesn't work with the regular 3DS. It works with the 3DS XL bundle (with Mario Kart 7 or Super Mario 3D Land), though !
1 console + one game for the price of just the console... that's the kind of stuff parents like, getting more for less ;)

Quite honestly, I find the 3DS XL vastly superior to the original model, and I really don't regret 'upgrading'. Have you tried the console for yourself? :keiko: Then again, I know not everyboyd can afford a new console.

Yeah L_A I know the improvements and frankly they seem like good ones.

Rounded edges are the big deal for me because I find it cuts into my hands a bit from gripping it too tight.
That and extended battery life. All the same I still feel the XL is a bit of a betrayal as I felt sure I heard they weren't going to release something like that which they did for the DS
