Alright, so you've pulled off the most perfect crime of all time, you got away clean, you left no trace of evidence that could lead back to you, you can now sit back and relax and spend the rest of your life doing who knows what. But there is a problem. You find out that there is but one eye witness who saw the perfection of your perfect crime so you only have one option. To do away with them.

So, how would you, the person who just pulled off the perfect crime, get rid of and dispose the body of the one eyewitness in a way where it'd never get traced back to you and you'd get off scot free, getting to enjoy in the feast of your perfect crime?

Wait, I have to pull off two perfect crimes?
First thing I would do is make sure I wouldn't kill the eye witness the same way I pulled the previous crime off. Gives them evidence and hints at serial killer, so they'll be looking even longer before I can flee to Hawaii and live my life in peace and quiet and in a warm place.

Overall, make sure I do it in a way so that I can get into a loophole in the law and could get aquitted, if I ever get caught enough to be sent to court. Make sure the eye witness' body isn't found, preferably by burning the corpse until bones are left and mash those into powder to be used as light fertilizer for garden plants.

That would result in the eye witness' friends and family having the emotional trauma of not knowing what happened to that person for years, probably clinging onto hope far longer than they should...

Nuke the city from Orbit
It's the only way to be sure

I'd argue having an eyewitness means it's not the perfect crime but I'd probably head out to the country and bury the body in a wood or something.

If there was an eyewitness, it wasn't a "perfect crime" and hence your query is flawed.

Yeah but the original question is about how to dispose of the eyewitness to create the perfect crime.

Silly BP, that's why you gotta dispose of the witness. Now if somebody witnesses you disposing of the witness, then you have a problem.

@Zinle: Dang it Zinle! I wasn't gonna say who did it and you had to go and blab. You know this is really gonna delay my vacation now that I have a lot of business to take care of. Geez!

Your scenario leaves something unaccounted for: the witness's own activities. Who's to say the witness won't immediately report the crime to the police?

Also, I totally made this topic just to give me ideas for my future endeavors.

This is exactly correct. There shouldn't be a body left, so that it'll be hard for them to even declare it a murder. At the very least, find some way to remove the head and hands, so that it takes them a while to identify the corpse. Then bury the corpse underneath a dead animal, so that when the police dogs sniff it out, they find the animal first and think it's a false positive.

Also, never use a gun. Ballistics have their own branch of science. It's crazy easy to identify which gun killed who nowadays. If you need to go for range, try either a bow or a homemade flamethrower. Best case scenario, you won't even have to be in the general vicinity when the person dies. If you've seen the Bourne series, the toaster bomb he uses at one point might be a good idea (or something similar).

Leaving the body - sans Hands and Head - could still end up a trap to fall into. What if that body has, like, a tatoo or a mole in a place that people would recognize instantly? Hence why I prefer the bone-grinding-to-powder idea.

And guns are a total trap to fall into as well. Hence why I prefer strangling. It's more personal, but that's also a bit that makes it a bit more.... fun fulfilling for finishing up.

Poison him or her without leaving any trace of the poisoning, then throw the body into a vat of chemicals a la Joker.

Stab someone with an icicle. Then all the evidence will melt away: the murder weapon and the fingerprints.

I suggest Arsenic.
It takes a long time to have effects that could end up lethal, but it is rather hard to trace at times. And you can mix it into various things, sugar cubes, tea, water, etc.

True... but!
The coroner might be concerned and find it suspicious that the corpse has water on it when it's mentioned that the cause of death was not drowning or anything having to do with water.

Heck, maybe we should do what CSI did in "Ending Happy"
Stab snake venom twice into a guy's calve to give the illusion of a snake bite, give him an anaphelactic shock so he'll have trouble breathing, shoot him through the neck with an arrow shot from a crossbow and then have him fall into a pool and drown.
Nobody could say what exactly killed the guy...!

PS: Just now, my mother suggested something that apparently happened in Bones. Shooting someone with a bullet covered in somebody else's blood.
