*random thought* Maybe Phoenix is like my mother and calls anybody who is below the age of 30 a 'kid'... Nah, Phoenix was playing along with the Kid idea cause of Apollo wondering what kid sent the DVDs, but I think Phoenix still sees Maya a bit as a kid - at the very least when it comes to the Steel Samurai.

Ema Skye- Ema NEEDS to appear in this game. Not having her there would be like Gumshoe not appearing in JFA.
Kay Faraday- it would be nice for there to be a little cameo, something subtle and light. Like she could walk in on Edgeworth and Phoenix talking and deliver some evidence or something and they wouldnt mention her name. Something to link the AAI series in GS5. I think it would be a mistake for her to have a large role though.
I'm not going to mention Maya as there's no way she's not in this game. I dont want her to be a defendant again, though; I'd like them to bring something new to the table.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Based on that one screenshot of Pearl, she says "It's been a while, Nick" - implying that this moment is the first in the game in which Phoenix sees Pearl. I don't know if she'll still add the "Mr." part, as it never was brought up in the Japanese games, but it's sort of an identifying character quirk by this point. I wouldn't be surprised if she kept it in.

Well that doesn't really mean anything. They could've spoken on the phone or in other fashion, but it could have 'been a while' since they had seen each other face-to-face. As for the Mr part, I'm trying to remember when I played JFA in Japanese... Maya calls him Naruhodo-kun the way Mia did... can't remember if Pearl went 'Naruhodo-san' or also did the kun... I doubt it, though, as she spoke very formally.
As for the shipping joke........ the fans aren't letting it die down, so having Pearl give up on it wouldn't make much of a difference. And I would hate for Pearl to get older and still have the misunderstanding and huge fairytale romance kick she had as a child. By that age, kids have generally gone through the reality check.

.So here is my personal Top 5 list of side characters I want to see in AA5.
#5. Lisa Basil
She striked me with her appearance when I first saw her, I honestly think her design is amazing. There wasn't much regarding her story or personality, but considering her small role in the case, it wasn't that neccessary, and I liked her anyway. It'd be nice to see her in AA5 at least as a cameo, because she is sure one of the most unique characters in the series, and I feel like she deserves a little more time in the spotlight.
#4. Vera Misham
In the end of AA4, Vera said that she would start a new life. Well, in AA5, I want to see how she lives her new life, because it would be a nice resolution to the development of her character. Also, she's a cutie. Deal with it.
#3. Cody Hackins
Cody was one of the things that really made 1-3 for me. I think he's cool, his design is awesome and his lines make me laugh every time I read them. He's a kid character who is funny but not irritating, and I appreciate that. He is 17-19 years now, and for some reason (well, I think it's the name...), I think he would be a programmer. Maybe even a programmer who creates computer games about Steel Samurai. I wonder if Blue Screens, Inc would hire him? (Probably no, unless he changes his name to something like Cody Doc).
Yeah, but anyway, I really want to meet Cody again.
#2. Larry Butz
Say what you want, but I always liked Larry. He was just "my" kind of idiot, who didn't seem annoying to me, but rather funny and cute. He is also an important part of Phoenix's past, whether Nick likes it or not. And seeing "new" Phoenix try to interact with "new" Larry would be hilarious, I'm sure of it.
At the end of T&T, it looked like Larry finally found his place in life after discovering how passionate he was about art, so I wonder if he's still an artist after all these years... but there is one thing I'm sure about. He's still the same tragic idiot trying to make people love him. Poor Larry.
#1. Adrian Andrews.
I feel like Adrian may be my favorite side character ever. I like her design, personality and how she evolved character-wise since her first appearance in 2-4. Adrian is smart, cute and actually treats Phoenix nice, unlike a bunch of other people in the series. I would really like to see what she's like 8 years later.

No but seriously, her family has been killed off, she's got the responsibility of an entire weirdo village on her shoulders and she's been accused of murder, what, three times now? Oh, and let's not forget a kidnapping and almost getting killed. I sincerely hope she'll come back without having to deal with any of that again.
So yeah, Maya's my number one. It would be weird if a fan favorite and such a big supporting character just disappears without a trace. Other than that I want the Butz to come back - him and Edgeworth have the best dialogue, the favorite being when Edgeworth gets worried over actually understanding what Larry meant when no one else got it.
On the flip side, I have no real desire to see Franziska - I didn't dislike her character but she was rarely as funny/useful/memorable as many other side characters. Also, Athena Cykes, from what we've seen so far (which, admittedly, is not much) feels kind of shoehorned and bland.

That would be Maya, Adrian, Franziska, Ema, Gumshoe. Not necessarily all in one game.
Oh and how I could forget Thalassa. Gramarye arc should finally be closed, perhaps with extra character development for Trucy. I would really like to also see Valant returning, but only under condition they make his character somehow more interesting.
