Also, Phoenix probably never figured out how to change his ringtone. I can't see them being part of the case at all though. I hope we don't have another Butz as the Steel Samurai and Oldbag as the Pink Princess situation again, at least.

Cases 2 and 3 are confirmed to be flashbacks prior to Case 1... unless if you're referring to flashbacks from years ago or something.
Yeah I'm referring to flashbacks like 3-1, 3-4, AAI-4, etc. I just can't believe they'll let this game go without one.
Also on a similar note, you think there will be some kind of overarching plot? I cant help but feel that it will be similar to

I wouldn't really say any of the games had 'Final Bosses' at least none that I'd call that, even in a loose sense of the term. 1-4 may have had Karma, but we never heard about him before, so that doesn't quite count as a boss. Gant the same, although he felt like an attempt at making someone worse than Karma and kind of failed...
GS2 had no Final Boss as... Nah, I really wouldn't call that a Final Boss.
And Dahlia was such a disappointment as a simple villain, she'd definitely not qualify as a Final Boss. Unless you mean Godot, in which case... nah... And Kristoph was of the same caliber as Dahlia, so...

If we're talking about a culprit who is involved and is connected to many, if not all, of the events in the game, working in the shadows, AAI+GK2's final culprit would definitely match that. Especially GK2's... Seeing as the development staff for DD is the same, I'd think the culprit of the final case is the same way.

I think that's looking at it in a bit of an un-objective, "what qualifies as a boss on a thematic level" kind of thing, but I think what he meant was a boss in the most physical, gameplay-related, identification-as-a-boss-has-no-bearing-on-his/her-actual-role-in-the-story. In the same way that, say King Dodongo was the boss of the second temple in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
In that case, I'd say that every game features a "boss" character, or simply the big, final character you have to take down in each game:
GS1: Manfred Von Karma
RFTA: Damon Gant
GS2: The Nickel Samurai guy (don't remember his name)
GS3: Dahlia Hawthorne
GK1: The tree guy (Don't remember his name)
(Haven't played GK2 yet)
GS4: Kristoph Gavin
I think by the nature of the AA there will be a "boss" character; a character who is responsible for the murder of that case (and possibly more) and who is the last antagonist Phoenix faces in court. That's really the closest AA can get to a boss.
(It's interesting, too, that GS1 is the only game in which the "prosecutor of the week" is the villain; in all the rest of them the prosecution adds to the fight or was a protagonist in some other way. I think Edgeworth will return for the final case and fill that role once again.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

What do you mean by "prosecutor of the week"? One that only appears in one case?
That's what I meant; I called it "Prosecutor of the week" because that's what it sometimes feels like, especially if you play the games one right after the other (the prosecutors just come and go seemingly pretty fast) A little like how shows like "The X-Files" had a "monster of the week" each installment had a new villain but they sometimes were really just part of the series'-wide villains' plan.

True Apollo is defiantly hiding something but I would really love it if those problems were to be presented and dealt within this game. But I REALLY want Athena to have a dark secret that is more or less left hanging at the end of the game. (I think it would be a great plot twist and it would make Athena a more interesting character)
Also everyone keeps referencing that "fight" between Apollo and Nick in the one trailer we have seen. But my experience with trailers have been that they are very misleading. Images and audio clips are cut and pasted from different points in the game together to create an idea that may not necessarily be true to the story. I think that the "fight" between Apollo and Phoenix is much more toned down than the trailer might have built it up to be. Or all the scenes are taken out of context the "fight" doesn't really exist. I will be interested to see what the "fight" we have seen really is.

I highly doubt that the team would build up so much hype over what turns out to be Apollo heading off for an errand... or an anime convention.
That said, I don't believe this fight would last beyond this game. It's one of those things that the dev team can hype for one game, but not another. Even by any chance that this game ends on a cliffhanger, it's unlikely that the resolution of this fight would be left hanging. It may not be soundly resolved, but at least a solution will be presented. And because Athena plays such an important role, she ought to be involved somehow. (But I can't see how she ties in with anything yet. Even her introduction was simply Apollo picking her up at some random village where another friend of Trucy's lives.)

As for the confrontation, I just think that Apollo and Phoenix have some differences on how to pursue the truth/what the truth is. The two go their separate ways, make it seem like they've cut ties, but when they find their respective answers, they have both arrived at the same destination and end up working together. I wouldn't be surprised to see it be something a little bit cliche like that.

Going back to this, a paragraph in the interview implied the game has 5 Cases. It's the 3rd last question. He doesn't say "It's 5 cases long" but the first thing he said was "Yes" to the interviewers question so I think it's pretty likely.

This is why the developers need to be very careful though. Some people may feel quite betrayed and/or confused if Athena turns out to be an evil person after you play as her and see her inner-thoughts (where she is a kind individual). Capcom is also pushing this "hero" character a lot too which suggests otherwise... to me, anyways. I'm hoping Athena is a good girl! :-)

This is exactly why I want Athena to have some sort of dark side! I mean sure its prolly not going to happen but it doesn't change the fact that I really want it to happen.
This is why the developers need to be very careful though. Some people may feel quite betrayed and/or confused if Athena turns out to be an evil person after you play as her and see her inner-thoughts (where she is a kind individual). Capcom is also pushing this "hero" character a lot too which suggests otherwise... to me, anyways. I'm hoping Athena is a good girl! :-)
we just have to wait till either the JP release or the Western release

i managed to get everyone even fullbright and simon
So here I've gotten Phoenix, Apollo, Athena, Fulbright, Blackquill, and Edgeworth. Have I missed anyone else?
