Having heard mostly the full soundtrack I think i'd rank this like so:

AA1>PLvsAA>AA2>AA5>AA3>AAI>GK2

Bolt, thanks for the re-ups on the previous recordings! The louder bass output really makes a world of difference, especially for a track like "Cross Examination ~ Allegro."

"Announce the Truth" has really grown on me. I do miss the added complexity that Iwadare utilized in GK2's rendition, but the elegance of the strings and the palpable gravitas of 2013's is undeniably excellent.

Still deathly curious to hear how the new "Victory!" theme sounds. Anyone have any thoughts on it?

I will if it's remixed. Perceive segments just use the GS4 Perceive theme though, so I'm not sure if Psyche-Locks will be updated.

Klavier's theme also is unchanged.

I watched a stream of the entire game and came to the conclusion that this game probably has the best overall soundtrack in the series. IMO, at least. The remixes are great, but the new songs are even better.
My favorite song has to be the Thought Route theme. I didn't know what type of song to expect from this little gameplay extra, but I ended up getting obsessed with it the second I heard it. There's just something about it that I really like. :phoenix:

Does anyone have Athena and/or Fulbright's theme uploaded? I'd like to copy these two tracks by ear once I'm done the game. Thanks in advance.

AA2 above AA3 and GK2? That's quite surprising to me.

Is this track spoilery when you don't know the title? Sometimes character themes can convey e.g. the gender or characteristics of a person quite well. Also is the theme used in-game before we know said person is the "big bad"?

He already did Thought Route. I think Bolt should save the big bad's music for last, although he probably has yet to get that far to record the track, anyway.

Could very well be one of my favourite reminiscence themes. Not as much as The Fire Carves Scars, but still good nonetheless.

Hey Bolt, if you are taking requests can you upload Great revival if it's in the game.

The search core theme seems a little off for me. I am not saying it's a bad theme, it just doesn't seem like a core theme.

To be honest all the "Core" themes seem to be all over the place and can't really decide what they want. But I agree that this Core theme wouldn't fit a Matt Engarde typ reveal, but instead more a "hey, we found the decisive evidence" scene.

Are you kidding? AA2 had the weakest music in the series, while the Investigations games were very strong. So far, the big three in my mind are AA1, PL vs. AA, and AA5.

I guess it's your opinion though.

Out of curiosity Wooster, where are you getting the names for the tracks if there's no listing yet? Is there a sound test in the game or something?

Now, now, I know Woost doesn't post as much as me, but that's no excuse for mixin' us up. :shoe:

For serious though, no, there's no sound test. I'm just making the names myself (you'll note all the YouTube videos have a disclaimer noting as such.)

I assume they're close enough. Most of the tracks have historically followed a set pattern. If they're off they can't be 'that' off.

The comments on some of these songs are very accurate, they do have a Ghost Trick vibe. I'm liking the soundtrack of this game way more than Iwadare's previous efforts.

Edgeworth's theme is glorious, and Apollo's non-objection theme is great too.

I think the music in this game is really well done. Though there are too many remixes (not a bad thing but...), but the new music rocks!

I like Athena's objection, Blackquill's theme, Cornered, Mood Matrix Allegro and also

Spoiler:
Phantom's theme.

Well, like all Gyakuten games, I just love the soundtrack. Hard to rank though, but I'd say that overall, GK2 and PLvsGS is above it. Some awesome themes though:

Athena Cykes Objection (maybe the best objection theme ever!)
Cross-Examination Allegro
Simon Blackquill
Apollo Justice Objection
Pursuit

Well, those are the ones I remember after my first playthrough... Will start running through the soundtrack more now, like to play the game first.

Biggest letdown? No presto theme. It's such a shame I can't even describe it. It was the greatest edition to the GK games imo and I can't for my life understand why they don't add them to GS as well. :(

For me the presto theme was just the replacement of the allegro theme in AAI, because the actual allegro theme wasn't much different from the moderato theme.

Aren't allegro basically always just up-tempo moderato? That's taking it a bit too far I guess but they're connected, still.

Both presto themes are completely unique and when they come, you know shit's going down. For me, the Gyakuten series is all about epicness and the presto themes have been the pinnacle of epicness. So yeah, that was a big letdown for me.

Yes, the presto themes are new and different from the moderato themes, but I think the allegro themes from the main AA games are just as epic. On the other hand the wannabe allegro themes from the AAI games aren't epic at all. When I first heard them ingame I didn't even realize they were supposed to be allegro themes.

Well, we can leave it there I think. :P

In any case, after thinking some more, I've concluded that one of the great things with this soundtrack is that it's Gyakuten, but at the same time it stands out from the other games. Kind of like the 3rd game. It has its own feeling, so to say.

And I can't stop listening to Kokones objection theme, it's soooo good. XD

I'm actually surprised at how much Cross Examination - Allegro has grown on me, I'm listening to it constantly now. Pursuit is taking longer, but it's definitely getting there.

Can I also get confirmation that this is fake? : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKygF_EalYY

Because if it isn't :

it's probably the worst track in the franchise IMO

Pretty sure it's fake.

Worst track? Don't you mean this one?

I'm sorry, but I simply cannot stand this track and its annoyingly infectious beat. There are few tracks in the Ace Attorney series that are truly bad, but this one is unfortunately one of them. :grey:

Hmm... I actually don't really mind it. It's ok. The problem I have with the "fake" track is how badly it's used, why would you ever assume it's a victory theme when it sounds so boring and nonchalant?
