What he's saying is that people coming into this thread would expect a spoiler tag to have spoilers on Contempt of Court, not AAI2. Opening something up and finding out it revealed one of the biggest twists in an entirely different game would be quite an unpleasant shock. Be sure to label your spoiler tags if you're going to write about something different than CoC.

Jordan:cause if I had to choose, then I would rather have Renwick killed then Erol, Snow or vulper.

And I wonder what Cardi is doing now, laughing to us from the fact that everything is compleatly different from what we speculate, I can hear his laughs from all the way from Pandora...(noooooot!)

Spoiler:
To be Honest I don't want Renwick, Snow, Vulper or Brisbane to die
but Vulpers chances of being the victim are slimmer than a stick beetles erection.
Snow theres a possible chance (Which can go fuck itself)
As for Bris and Ren, The chances are high (Despite that, those chances can also go fuck themselves)

Sorry for the constant swearing, it's just a habit

Maplethorpe might have told Maris about the accidental killing and Hemlock killed her because he was afraid that she might tell Greisen or Phoenix.

Spoiler:
Maris could indeed be the victim but however, I think I have a better reason, Recall near the end of The Haunted Turnabout she found the card which had the smuggling rings trademark, It's possible Maris is the victim (Though the chances are thin) It could possibly be Terry Greisen, Vick Barrows, Vincenzo Cicatrice or Schaden Fruede (At least I want it to be one of them).

I just noticed something.
Spoiler: GK2
In case 2 of GK2, I noticed that it's similar to Turnabout of the Snow.
(Like how the murderer of the previous case turned out to be the victim of this case, and you used the background for the intro.) However, yours seems to be more... complicated, I guess.

Before you ask, I have the latest vesion of Pywright.
When I start Turnabout Scapegoat, it crashes right when the guy gets killed in the intro. Basically, I can't get past the intro.
What do I do?
Other than that, this looks pretty cool and I would love to play it.

That's the snag; Turnabout Scapegoat was made on older version of PyWright and it doesn't work properly on the latest version.

The front page is also the same as it was like 2 months ago, (meaby Cardi is SUPER busy)
Just asking is there eny progress. (cause the graph says it is still 90% on the first scene)
Im not complaining, Im just asking (for funzies).

Still waiting for the fabled part 2. Then again, Rome wasn't built in a day. (It was built in two! :moe:)

Spoiler: Part 2
I don't really mind how the story kicks, as long as the victim isn't Snow.

Seriously, if it is; :gun:

Might as well give an update since I'm barely around here anymore...

Progress is... hm... barren.

I've just started my third year of uni now and I barely have the time and motivation to continue Part 2. It could take anywhere between a year or two years, but I really can't guess. When it's done it's done -- I'll be personally glad to finally complete it and get it out of the way -- but I honestly have nothing more to add to this thread for now. When the game is near completion I'll let you know, but it'll be a VERY long time... Like I said, I'm barely on these forums anymore.

As for a progress report, I've more or less finished Investigation 1 and am about to start Trial 1. Then I'll have 2 more investigations and 2 more trials to follow. Still trying to work out how the final trial will go down and make sure it all wraps up nicely.

I hope you understand that this is out of my control right now and I need to do things at my own pace in order for Part 2 to ever see the light of day. Thanks for your everlasting support and patience guys, I'm doing what I can. Till next time.

It's like every good fan game always takes a long time, and the creator struggles between the game and his life.

Not sure if anyone needs it, but while I was playing the first case I wrote a little bare-bones walkthrough. If anyone's stuck they can look at this.

Spoiler: Turnabout Scapegoat Walkthrough
AT CRIME SCENE:
Present Affidavit
Present Snow’s profile
Examine knife
Examine body
-- Examine little badge
-- Examine blood
-- Examine King of Hearts

AT WRIGHT AND CO LAW OFFICES:
Present Mr. X’s profile
Exhaust talk options
Present Magatama
(Psyche Lock segment)
~*~*~Mr. X~*~*~
Present Crime Scene Photo
Present Jake’s profile
Present King of Hearts
Talk about Mr. X

AT DETENTION CENTER:
Be Vincenzo Cicatrice.

Snow’s First Testimony
Press statement 4.
Select “the victim’s body.”

Snow’s Second Testimony
Press the last statement.
Present the King of Hearts at statement 5.
Present the King of Hearts at the last statement.
Press statement 7.
Select “where it was found,” then press further.
Press last statement (the one about the prints on the cloth)
Select “no.”

Krump’s First Testimony
Press Statement 5, then press further.
Present Scrap of Cloth at Statement 7.
Present Shoeprints Photo at last statement.
Present the Shoeprints Photo.
Point at the handprint on the ledge. (It’s under the Court Record button, so it can be a bit tricky to reach!)
Point at the edge of the cliff, where the handprint was.
Select “a sweep of the crime scene.”

Present Vex Vulper.
Select “it’s yours.”

BACK TO THE FUTURE, @ THE DETENTION CENTRE

Present Attorney’s badge (no, seriously, this triggers a new talk option)
Exhaust talk options

RETURN TO THE OFFICE!

Just kidding. Now you have to return to the bridge and cross it! What a tease.

When you’re there, examine the shoeprints heading into the village. They don’t get added to the Court Record or anything, but it’s still nice to see them.

Head into Nieville proper, then examine the mansion. Ring the bell and you’ll run into a familiar face... Krump will then invite you into his manor.

AT KRUMP MANOR:

Exhaust talk options, then chase after Maya! You’ll eventually end up in the secret room, where you’ll have to examine the shards on the floor.

Krump will kick you out, at which point you’ll run into who else but Mr. X? Present the Prosecutor’s Badge to him, then ask him the one question you have.

At this point, gameplay shifts back to Vinnie Cockatrice.

Vulper’s First Testimony
Press statement 1. Ask to have it amended to the testimony.
Present the Weather Report.

Vulper’s Second Testimony
Press statement 4. Keep pressing further until the game prompts you to point out Vulper isn’t wearing glasses.

Vulper’s Third Testimony
Okay, this is TOO easy. Present Brisbane’s memo at the third statement.
Present the Playing Card at the final statement.
Vex’ll then ask what the significance of the card is. Say that Erol Brisbane can determine its significance.

Now you have to explain how Vex knew about the meeting... this is tricky! But it turns out the answer is Brisbane himself! Follow up with Krump’s profile.

BACK TO THE CURRENT DAY!

Cicatrice will call you to the Detention Center. Exhaust talk options, then present Mr. X to him.

TRIAL DAY ONE

You meet the prosecuting attorney, Mr... EROL BRISBANE???????

Whatever. He continues to be intimidating and yells at everyone before summoning Jake Marshall to the stand.

Marshall’s First Testimony
Press the fifth statement, then ask about the card.
Present the card itself at that last statement. You’ll be asked to elaborate on what’s so interesting about the card-- at which point you point out the faint traces of blood beneath the mark.
Select “the killer wiped it away”
Say no.

Krump’s First Testimony
Press the second statement to add the map to the Court Record.
Present the map at the new statement.
Say the statement is very important.

Krump’s Second Testimony
Present Vincenzo at the third statement.
Then press the fourth statement and press further.

INVESTIGATION

Exhaust talk options.
Present Spot of Blood
Examine cabinet.
Present the playing card.

Move to the living room, and examine the covered-up armchair,
Move back to the secret room.
Show Snow the armchair.

Move to the Grossberg Law Offices.
Examine the note stuck between the books.

Exhaust your talk options with Brisbane, then run to the Detention Center.

Exhaust your talk options with Vincenzo, then go back to Grossberg’s office.
Show Brisbane Titus Krump’s profile.
Exhaust these new talk options.
Head to Verglas Bridge, then Nieville, then the Gorge.
Examine the niche.
Inside the niche, on the ground, there’s a thing. Examine it.

Move to Krump Manor, then to the Police Department.
Talk about the blood results.
Show him the playing card, the crumpled note, and Krump’s profile.
Go to the records room.
Select “DT-2”
Examine the file cabinets.
Head to the Detention Center.
Present the DT-2 file, then ask about the scar.
Exhaust talk options with Krump.

Psyche-Lock Segment
~*~*~The Bloodstain~*~*~

Krump’s Autopsy Report
Autopsy Note
You’re an imposter

Back to Court!

Snow’s First Testimony
Press every statement.

Snow’s Second Testimony
Present the Sliding Cabinet at statement 3.
Present Krump’s Armchair
Present Titus Krump at the statement this makes.

Krump comes out!

Present the Photo of Krump.
Press everything.
You have evidence.
Erol Brisbane
Photo of Titus Krump
Probably not

Krump’s Second Testimony
Press Statement 3.
Present the Scarps of Rubber at the new statement.

Krump’s Third Testimony
Press Statement 4, and press harder.

I just made an account to say this: This is completely awesome.
I had downloaded the first two cases a few months ago, but never really showed much interest in them until recently, and I must say, you've done quite well. The characters are great, and the plot is well done!
Thanks for making such a great fan-game, and I wish you luck on finishing it!

Thank you very much :) I'm still pretty critical of Scapegoat since it's still rough around the edges and was basically the result of getting some creativity out of my system, but I'm still shocked at how well it was received.

Hey, I'm loving the game so far, but its been crashing during turnabout scapegoat:
Spoiler:
After entering Grossberg's office and taking the note, the game always closes after Phoenix says "(...That's original.)"
This is with pywright 9.87. I'm not sure if its one of those things which'd work fine with an older version. Everything ran perfectly up until that point (except some audio lag with Vulper's objection).

That's because of the {s} in the script as it's no longer recognisable by the latest version of PyWright and causes it to crash. Opening "scene33.examine" and changing the {s} after the "(That's original...)" line to {s 10 10} will do the trick.

Thanks, I found/fixed that and several more {s}es in the case text files (a couple in scene35, more in almost all the scenes numbered 40-51). Finished the first case, too. It was a lot of fun, I loved
Spoiler:
Vulper prosecuting himself. Ate that up. But Udgey going with "confess and you'll go free" was a little too weird. And Vulper also had a curious line that made it seem like he thought Vinnie was guilty of something (something like "you still think he's innocent? You and I need to talk after this case is over").
I'd agree there were some bits of dialogue and stretchylogic that seemed rough around the edges, but it was still a very fun case. I'm sure to blitz through the second as soon as I'm able. As long as I don't hit some other pywrighty quirk. :phoenix:

Hey guys, just a quick update to say that things are actually coming along pretty swiftly with Part 2. I'm already past the halfway point of Trial 1 as I'm having a lot of fun writing a certain new character. On top of which I guess I've just been in the zone for the first time in a long time.

Anyway, as a kind of proof of progress, I've added a bunch of screenshots to the Case 3 Part 2 section. I've also been careful not to reveal anything about the crime itself, so... yeah, there's none of that. ;)
Spoiler: Case 3, Part 2 screenshots (contain Part 1: White as Snow spoilers)

When Shoe was a very valuable lead on getting that assassin.

Spoiler:
Curse you, Maya!!! You killed Shoe!!! You have gone TOO far this time.

In a Weevers screenshot (the one on the far lower right side) her other hinch is stumb, it seems to be missing a few pixels, so that continues to her ear (if she has one)

I can't wait to play it when it's released.

Also, after some more thinking,
Spoiler:
is it possible that Hemlock himself(or herself) could be the victim this time?

If so, I predict that Renwick will be the suspect.
