However, you're posting here now.

And did I miss something about boobs? I always miss boobs :( Apart from the last time I was out, which involved boobs, much to my enjoyment.

Also, this looks like Gaunt's actually meant to look like, as opposed to the artwork on the Gaunt's Ghosts novels, and I want it: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachmen ... cn1009.jpg

So looking for my converter, I found the other mouse that came with my PC. Since my current mouse was a bitch at times and my PC didn't recognize it, I plugged this one in.

And now I have to Press down the Scroll Wheel and Move the MOUSE to scroll.
That is so stupid! How do I change that option? The mouse options don't give me anything like that.

Nirvana is overrated in my opinion. I can't even make out what the hell they're singing, to be honest. To me, it just sounds like "wa wa wa wa WA WA WA WA!"

I admit that the band is overrated and lacks musical quality -- but I still like it, mainly because of the "I-do-not-give-a-fuck-about-anything" feeling the songs have.

I actually liked the joke. :redd:

Just saw the results of my latest university entrance exam test and I scored 66 out of 90, meaning that I'm allowed to take the second part of the exam in January... Of course, I'm happy, I'm halfway to my Pharm School but some of the questions bugged me. I mean, what the hell were those math questions? I'm not the only one complaining about this -- the difficulty level was much higher than anyone could imagine.
...But uh... Guess I shouldn't be surprised since I'm not good in math.

Ah it won't be so bad, I'm betting Huddini doesn't have one either, s'fair few folks who will be missing it.

Though I actually saw someone with a 2DS the other day, got it for pokemon he said.

I know this is so many pages late, but if I had the choice to get a 3DS platform, I'd go with the 2DS, if only because the price seems just right. I tried demo'ing that 3d feature at a gamestop last week on one of nintendo's own mario/luigi game, and man that was a completely underwhelming, useless experience/gimmick. 2DS seems just right, barring the fact you can't flip it and close like a case (which I think this was designed for kids in that respect).

But the name scheme might confuse parents, like the Wii U.

But a (3)DS still isn't worth getting for me for one game I may end up being disappointed in, but that's a personal loss I'm willing to accept.

The 2DS seems pretty good. It has the problem of the screens being exposed to dust and scratches either, due to not being foldable, but the stratches can be easily avoided by using the plastic screensheets. And I'm quite glad it doesn't fold, nothing against folding, but I somehow like that.

It seems to lie comfortably in the hand. Lack of 3D effect doesn't bother me because I don't use the 3D effect on my two 3DSes anyway. It just seems like a pointless thing to put in. Why would I want to experience things in 3D? MY LIFE IS IN 3D!

The fact that it's cheaper is something I love, too. Seriously if this had been out years ago AND would have no region lock in, I would've bought it INSTANTLY and saved my mother and myself money by having to buy a Japanese 3DS for my import games and a European one for store-bought games.

For all my life.
Over here (Brazil) winter break is in July and summer break is in December. The school year usually starts in February and ends in the last days of November or first days of December.
(And the university entrance exams usually consist of two separate parts - the first around November, the second around January)

...So I'm thinking about what I'm gonna do about my life now. I did well in the first part of the exam, but the second part is slightly harder.
Oh well, I think I should forget about academic stuff for a while. I WANT TO HAVE FUN

Yeah have tonnes of fun I know I did at the end of school. Though my school pretty much pushed us straight into university at the end of the year its great to have finished something big like that. Did you have a big prom or a dance or something for your senior year?

Thanks!
We (me and my classmates) did have a trip to a city near here for three days or so a few weeks ago, but we didn't have a dance or anything like that...
I feel pressure about this university stuff too, but many people I know regret going straight to university after high school because they didn't decide their profession carefully.

Huh, reminds me of when I graduated from High School. We had our senior trip, referred to as our graduation trip, way long before we actually graduated... we went to Prag... majority of that trip is not a very nice thing to remember.

Man I'd have much preferred a trip to a city over a prom any day still take your time deciding what you want to do its hardly cheap after all.

First, since I am not a very social person and I had no real 'group' to belong to in my class, I had no real roommates to choose from and I was put into one of the rooms. The room turned out to be the more outgoing, partying girls.
First night there, things got loud in the evening, people coming together and music and drinking. I felt really uncomfortable and told the guys to knock it off, cause they were shaking my bed and bothering me, to please quiet down a bit. People ignored me and I ended up crying... cause I was frustrated.
The party then moved to another room and one of the guys ended up puking, so...

Second, I got a little scolding from the teachers because I didn't eat meat and when they finally asked me why I didn't, I told them I'm a vegetarian. They got a little annoyed that I hadn't told them. But that's because nobody asked me.
Our class had several muslims, so they got different food served due to their religion's rules and all. Although it still happened once that they got pork served. Anyhow, I wasn't the only vegetarian in the class - there was someone else. Still. If nobody asks pre-trip about food arrangements, I can't simply tell them that I'm vegetarian.

Third... I have a severe problem with body contact. I feel very self-conscious about my body. And the trip was three days, with the third day being used to go home. I admit, I hadn't taken a shower since before the trip... One of the girls went to the teachers and the whole class, telling them how disgusted she was by me. She stormed into the room, bitching about how she was not gonna get onto the bus home until something was done.
At this point, I didn't know what she was bitching about. She tended to bitch...
Then she told me she was disgusted and told me she had told the entire class. And she practically forced me to go take a shower. And she even told other people in that hotel that I was taking a shower and to please wait...
So yeah. Pretty fucking embarrassing.

Fourth...! One of the places we went to during the trip was a market that sold all kinds of stuff. Among them weapons. I didn't buy any - my mom only gave me two rules when I got allowance: You can buy anything you want, except weapons and drugs.
Anyhow, on the bus home, the luggage got checked at the border. Typical. One of the guys had bought some brass knuckles and put them into his luggage, which the police found, obviously. So we had to wait a good two or three hours at the border because one moron was too stupid to realize that any weapon should be kept on the person and not in the luggage, which was bound to be checked.
So we got home later than we should have and I was very pissed and very hungry. I wish the police had kept that one guy behind and get his parents to pick him up. Would've made things so much easier for us, not to mention the bus driver.

Fifth, overall the trip wasn't very entertaining... we went to Prag because we had focused on Kafka in German class. I don't like looking at synagouges (I don't know if I spelled that correctly) and don't like touring graveyards. The only good place I remember on that trip was the Blacklight Theater.

Huge bust. I don't like taking trips with school acquaintances, anyway.

That sucks!

Considering my school is really, REALLY small (about 9 students) we usually go on pretty Hype-ass field trips, this year we're going glass blowing. The other places were: Space Needle (I don't do heights), the Zoo (I've been there about 30 times), or OMSI (I kinda wish we were going there, but eh).

How can a school even stay open with only 9 students?! Or is that just your class? I thought my elementary school was small, as we had less than 90 students. The school is even smaller after I left; I recently heard there's only about 50 students.

Cat's story reminds me of a road trip I went on a few years back. We had to ride on a hot, sweaty bus across the province for 4 hours. The bus had air conditioning, but that wasn't enough, as it was still really hot in it. The other students were chatting with each other on the ride, but as I'm not a very social person, I spent the ride trying to have a nap, while the bus shook with each bump in the road, making that endeavor all but impossible.

We got to stop at McDonalds, but as there was about 25 of us including Teachers and TAs, it took a long time for each one of us to get something to eat. I was given 20 dollars by my mom to spend there, and due to the fact that there was a lot of money left over from me buying a big mac combo, the other students started pestering me to give them some of my money, even though they had money of their own.
We stopped at King's Landing, which to those who are not aware, is a tourist attraction meant to resemble an amish village. I ended up getting lost from the rest of the kids, and some of the residents had to help me find my way back to them.
We went to the capital of the province, and we stopped to watch a political debate. It was one of the most boring experiences of my entire life, I didn't even get to see them debating about anything interesting, just something about public works projects or something, I kinda forget. I had a can of pepsi with me which I bought from a vending machine using some of my leftover mcdonalds money, and as soon as I got in to the building, it was confiscated. They said they'd give it back to me, but when I asked for it once I came out, they said they threw it away. It was then a long, sweaty bus ride home. It's an experience I don't really want to repeat.

What a jerk. I can't believe nobody did anything about this. It doesn't matter the circumstances, this is harassment.
Now I remembered about a piece of shit that was my classmate in my first year... She constantly harassed a guy because he was autist and socially isolated. She tried to intimidate me too a few times with her little stupid group, which led to some confrontations and discussions... Look, there are few people in my life who angered me enough to the point that I thought I could kill them some few moments. She is one of them.

Kafka? I read The Trial some years ago for a school work and overall I liked the book, especially due to the criticism of bureaucracy... I should read The Metamorphosis, everybody praises this book...
I don't know exactly why I'm asking this and it is a vague question, but how the german education system works?

For the Metamorphosis, I read it and can say it is wierd. You really have to remember the metaphor if you don't want to be lost by the wierdyness. But except that I must say I think it is good, but a bit overated.

We read The Metamorphosis and I have to say... it's overrated. I mean, the teacher put emphasis on the fact that the book started out with the sentence, "When Gregor woke up one morning, he found himself to have turned into a bug" or something like that.
Emphasis on the fact that such a huge revelation was written in such an off-hand way.
Now... I'll be honest, I don't see what the big deal of that is. Not the bug thing, but the huge emphasis she put on it. I mean, come on. That's nothing great, that's nothing overly special you have to worry about for a few days before your brilliant mind comes to that. That is total average, that's what I do in my stories, I mention something big in an off-hand way and may give more emphasis on it later on.
I finished the book and the ending was kinda meh.
I dunno, maybe it's cause I don't get Kafka or don't care, but it wasn't that great.

Also, harrassment? Yeah, probably. Then again, I got bullied, disliked or ignored by at least a few students in every class that I have been my whole school life, so you can say I was used to it. I'm just pissed that she did something that embarrassing.
Sometimes I wish my fantasies of strangling people wasn't just a fantasy...

As for how the system works... what do you mean How?

I mean... What are the subjects taught in schools or if there are any university entrance exams... Or anything you want to say about that.

Apparently, the font is different for quoted and non-quoted text on here. Just noticed that. :pearlshock:

(If I remember my typography lingo correctly, regular text is serif and quoted text is sans serif.)

Ah well, we have Deutsch/German class which counts as a literature class since we do grammar and look at various books, sometimes read them. English, which teaches the British English which... I don't like very much, but I never paid attention in those classes.
Math goes everywhere from geometry to calculations to those text problems. We even do percentages, although I never understood that, we never practiced that shortly before the finals and the finals paper was full of crap we hadn't done in years! You sucked at preparing us, Math teacher!
Physics and Chemistry, Biology... My high school had specific branches to pick 7th Grade onwards and I picked the French/Art group, so I also had French and Art. French was fun, Art was... I dunno why they always make us draw with watercolors. I'm good with a pencil and at sketching people, not geometrical forms...

Classes range 30+ people, I think the largest I was in was 38 people.
I don't know about University Entrance exams, as I never went to University here. It's not really a requirement to go to University to get a job, unlike the way it seems in America (and Japan). If people want to learn a specific job, they get an Ausbildung (Training Position) at the type of work they want and alternatively work there and go to Berufsschule (...a school built specifically around the work to be learned) once or twice a week.

Haha now I really want to watch that film, hopefully it'll show up at some point over the holiday season.
