I dunno, I do extensive research before I buy ANY game, so I generally haven't played a lot of bad games; therefore, the next thing I considered were games I've played that don't hold up well today. Lots of N64 titles that I played then are still fun now: Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Star Fox 64, Paper Mario, Mario Party, Banjo Kazooie... all games from my collection that are fun to play even today. Spider-man is the only game from that era that, despite the fun I had with it back then, I just can't get into now. Maybe calling it the 'worst' when I enjoyed it before is a bit unfair to the game, but what the hey; I couldn't think of any others off hand that would fit better. That said, having had time to think about it, there is a game that I own that I don't enjoy all that much (I believe it's already been mentioned somewhere); Paper Mario:Sticker Star. It's not a BAD game per se, but it just feels... empty compared to the other installments in the series. The battles are fun, the music is good and the sticker idea is well implemented... it just doesn't feel all that special. I suppose the story and lack of new partners were what contributed it: the original game and the Thousand Year Door are a lot more fun and interesting to me because they did well in both those areas.

Thinking about it, I think the best generations of video games were the 8-bit, 16-bit, and current-gen eras. The PS4 and Xbox One haven't convinced me of anything yet.

The Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One all LOOK great and from a technical standpoint, are the best systems yet: however, I feel like that's all they have going for them, they're powerful. Sure they've got their fair share of launch titles, but none of them scream new to me: not to say people CAN'T or WON'T enjoy them per se, but everything that they're making has been done before and doesn't look to have significant enough improvements to warrant purchasing them. I mean you've got several shooters (Killzone, Call of Duty, etc), sports titles (the NBA and NHL ones that we've had EVERY YEAR for the last 15 years), and Assassin's Creed (which to me personally seems like it's being done to death, though others may disagree). For me, that 'must-have' title hasn't come to any of the existing systems, so they're not really worth getting yet.But hey, my word is far from definitive; if other of you on CR have got one of these systems and are enjoying the heck out of it, don't let me tell you that it's not worth the investment. Take my opinion with a grain of salt

I dunno, I don't think they are all that great in the technical department, either. I watched KWing doing a little review and unboxing of his PS4 and he pointed out things that I do not like hearing. The fact that you need to have the PS4 plugged into an HDMI thing. Not everybody has an HDTv or knows if theirs is one. I think mine is, but I'm not sure.
Not being able to simply record gameplay footage, unless you share it on facebook (why the fuck would I want to share that THERE?) or this other thing, I think the PSN or so. Kind of silly, I mean, if I record my footage, I want to put it onto my PC. Like, be able to alter things and edit it.
And from an appearance stand point, none of them look that awesome. The ONE and PS4 both look like black VCR boxes with no real creativity in it.

Huh.... I did not know that.
The HDMI thing makes sense I guess because of the graphical power the things is packing; I don't know much about electronics, but that would make sense to me. The gameplay footage limitation just seems odd to me though; if you're going to make a 'better' system, you'd think that they would make the software better instead of putting needless limitations on it like that. All that really does is annoy the people who really care about features like that, and perhaps discourage those who would want to dabble. Well regardless, both facts don't do much to bolster an enthusiasm for this current generation of consoles, that's for sure. Not to say I see a doom cloud hovering over them with no hope in sight; however suffice to say, I for one probably won't be picking one up till better (or at least different) games are available, and by that point a better system will probably be released. In any case, this current generation is not quite done yet, with a few goodies still coming over the horizon, so there's no rush in my opinion

The only recent exception I can think of is the Wii; that really didn't change at ALL over the years, not until a release of the 'Wii Mini' at the end of its lifecycle (which was a very stupid decision in my opinion, but I haven't checked the sales statistics, so I may be wrong 'bout that). A WiiU I may pick up if a new Zelda title comes out on it that isn't a remake of Wind Waker (still have my GC version working well on my working GC) or even Majora's Mask (...I don't enjoy playing the game) or anything like that. As for the PS4, I may get it... but not for a long time. It has to be cheaper for me, has to have a few games I want on it and overall have other features I care about.
Something on the PS4, you NEED Playstation Plus to get the online features now.

I think it was a tiny cheap little Wii smaller than the others, released in...perhaps Canada? It had a limited run.

I haven't played it in a while, so I don't remember very well, but I could never make it past the first case. I think it had something to do with fingerprint testing, I'm not sure, gave up about a year ago.
Anyways, about the Wii Mini, I think it was released in the U.S., too, not just here in Canada. At least, that's what the Mario Wiki said. I think the only places it was released was North America and Japan, it never got a European or Australian release. I don't know anyone who got one, as it was only released for a few months, just a couple months after it came out, the Wii U was out.
