I enjoy GS because I like puzzle type games, which is what I consider it to be. I enjoy solving the cross examinations using my mind. I don't like it when it takes no skill to solve a case, like the first case of the first game, or when a case has insane leaps of logic, like pretty much every case in Trials and Tribulations. I like the story of the games, but I still play them to give my mind a workout, like any puzzle game.

...What you just described is playing it for its story and mysteries, not its gameplay.

Well, in a sense, the gameplay and story are interconnected. The gameplay is about finding out the story. I guess you're right about that part, but I still think that GS is a game, and games need cool mechanics. If it was all like the first game, I'd find it to be a bit too dull. Mechanics like Perception and the Mood matrix add more to the experience than just pressing and presenting. I'm not saying the first game is dull by itself, I just think it's a bit bland when compared to later games in terms of gameplay. The story is amazing, being my second favorite story in the series, I'm just saying that while you're right that the story does hold more weight in this series than the gameplay, the gameplay is still an enjoyable aspect of a game.

Well, just think of a lot of female armor in video games - I think most children are used to partial, impractical nudity by now, so it'd really just be a change of roles!

Besides, the franchise is M-rated now, isn't it? It wouldn't/shouldn't be "kids" playing it anyhow!

Where did you even get a picture like that But Phoenix is an old man now by Capcom standards! I mean, just look at the way cute teenage assistants are being tossed around like a used condom at Woodstock.

I know, in fact, I know someone who always refers to the assistants as Maya, regardless of who they are. He calls Ema Maya 2, Trucy Maya 3, Kay Maya 4, and Athena Maya 5. He insists that they're basically the same character with a different name slapped on them, which I don't quite understand.

I second many of the ideas already presented (Apollo's storylines being wrapped up, a flashback case with Kristoph, etc.). I also like the idea of the Agency splitting up into two different investigations for two different cases and then finding out the cases are related to each other (can we get more Phoenix/Apollo and some Athena/Trucy team ups please?).

I also wanna see Klavier and Simon return as prosecutors for these cases (especially Klavier... the AA4 cast has so much potential for development that wasn't really continued with). Also, Ema would have to be the main detective for the game. Maybe even tie Kay to the main story. I didn't care much for her, but if they did that, she'd feel less like a gimmick and more like a real character.

Otherwise, I don't want too many cameos from previous characters because that just drags the story down. Only the important ones should come back, like Maya (even though I personally don't think much can be done for her story), Fransizka, Thalassa, and Juniper. God it pains me to think that Wocky is never gonna come back though.

I also feel that the Jury System should be given a reason for not being implemented, but in the final game have it implemented to bring a proper end to the series (I hope they'll try to cap it at 7 games; anymore would be overkill).

Honestly, I think I'd prefer a straight timeline after Dual Destinies. Why can't Kristoph play a major part in a case in the present? I'm sure there's residual evil everywhere left behind by that man, not to mention it'd be much more satisfying seeing Trucy and Apollo face him now rather than in the past. I exclude Phoenix from that list, seeing as last time they clashed Phoenix managed to give him the finger the size of the Statue of Liberty.

So, I ended up waking a few hours earlier than expected today, and I thought "heck, why not hop online now? I have some time." I stopped by this thread, and

I read that "Resident Evil"... Wesker for new AA cameo.

Dammit, now I can't see the Statue of Liberty any other way than the US making a giant finger at the Atlantic. IT WAS INTENTIONAL... maybe. Ah, I must still be half-asleep.
As well as they can tie in the plots of 4 & 5 that way, I don't see him making an in-person appearance; maybe a mention or a hint, but nothing more. I'm not saying the next set of villains absolutely have to be new characters always, but there's really not much room for the role of a recurring villain who spans games, not just within a single game. Nevertheless, he could be involved in a major plot conspiracy or something... as a business partner making deals with the underground, perhaps.

If GS4 and 5 are to be tied up somehow, though, GS6 won't really be such a straight storyline. It'd be like tying a balloon's string to a blade of grass - it can work, but only with the right knot... or duct tape.

Who the heck ties a balloon to the grass anyway what a waste

I think some of Kristoph's influence definitely affected Apollo in AA5, and it was sort of resolved in that Apollo has decided to abandon Kristoph's teachings and follow Phoenix's.

Maybe Kristoph could kinda appear in the way Morgan did in T&T.

I personally think it would be interesting for the main villain to be a relative of someone Phoenix has already taken down, out for revenge against him by targeting his loved ones, like maybe he could kill Larry Butz, Phoenix's best friend? It would make the vendetta more "personal", which is one of the reasons I thought GK1-5 was rather lackluster for a final case; Edgeworth didn't have a personal connection to the antagonist, which wasn't as dramatic.

Another thing I want to see happen is for Winston Payne to return as the prosecutor for the first case; I couldn't STAND his brother.

What I'd love to see: We have 3 lawyers now, right? Normally firms take on more than one case at the same time. Each lawyer could take on 3 different seemingly unconnected cases taking place at the same time, with them turning out to be related in the final trial, perhaps some sort of smuggling ring again like in AAI.

Doesn't Kristoph know about the background of the Borscht Bowl and its mafia ties? I've always seen him as the type to be the mafia's attorney and taking a couple of cases here and there, since it would be pretty suspicious if you EXCLUSIVELY take mafia cases. Would also explain his paranoia, seeing as how it wouldn't be easy to live knowing that you're defending top notch criminals and their rivals would want your neck. It also explains his sort of background with the Misham family, seeing as how he'd need to forge a lot of evidence in order to protect the mafia.

Prosecutor AND performer? It WAS established in GS4 that his father died in a stage performance, unless, of course, he got into a big case and they faked his death in order to protect him (wouldn't be the first time, *glares at Thalassa*).

Hmm... Right, this is assuming he actually died and not entered into a sort of coma, which, again could happen *coughGodotcough*

Other than that, I could see Valant Gramarye playing as our Morgan Fey, seeing as how they're both alike: someone else is "stealing" the spotlight they "deserve". Like I said in another thread: I wouldn't doubt Valant doing something as extreme as hurting Trucy and kidnapping Thalassa all in the name of the Gramarye legacy.

In the official AA5 book, the creators stated they had toyed around with the idea of introducing Apollo's dad (which was supposed to be Clay's role initially) who came back from Egypt or something.

So yeah.

That still wouldn't explain the black Psycholocks. It has to be a bigger reason than that for him to not remember why he would go to such lengths for revenge.

After the fiasco in the Jurist test trial, I've had a feeling that Kristoph had a hand in some conspiracy that prevented the instatement of the Jurist System. With the Dark Age of Law looming overhead as well, nothing could get done properly. Hence why Phoenix and Edgeworth first had to deal with the UR-1 incident before addressing whatever has been keeping the Jurist System at bay, so to speak. In that case, Kristoph may actually have a role in the next game - not as a villain, per se, but as a key witness to interrogate. (And if they are going to bother with giving him a 3D model, then why not bring him to court again? I'd love to see the snarky comments fly back and forth.)

No way absolutely not out of the question objection and hell to the no.

Kristoph is a highly intelligent, well-mannered if somewhat distant, evil sociopath. That's what makes him so intriguing. It would kill his entire character if he were secretly just trying to protect his brother, who to this day has shown no real emotion over all the crap he's gone through, by the way.

Was he always like that? I don't know, and I think it would be interesting to learn that he was once actually a genuinely good brother to Klavier, but changed somehow, preferably without any external interference. But that would not change the fact that he killed two people, injured another and ruined the lives of Phoenix and Trucy without even a shred of regret.

Let us deal with whatever evil Kristoph left behind, NOT a 'he-was-good-all-along' scenario.

Personally, I see Kristoph "suffering" from egocentrism, explaining his Black Psyche-Locks: all this time, he's lying to himself, justifying and justifying his murder towards Zak Gramarye, so he really doesn't know, but since, at the same time, he's hiding it himself, Black Psyche Locks appear.

He withdrew because he realized it would be futile against a Jury System. If I'm not mistaken, he semi-confessed his murder in 4-1 in such a way that it could only be proven with decisive evidence. Same goes for 4-4, where he destroyed the decisive evidence in question, but not before Phoenix got a recording of it with his spycam so he could show the jury that it exists and unequivocally proves Kristoph was behind it all. There was no way he could sway the jury after that, so he just saved his breath and gave up.

Pretty much, in a lot of words. It's the cost of hubris and his ultimate downfall. Regardless of whether or not he really knew why he would succumb to hate, he firmly believed that he did it all for selfish reasons and that he was an evil, evil man. Who knows? Perhaps under those locks are the depths of his personal despair that he abandoned long ago, and thus refused to show any sign of regret at his actions.

Long ago, Kristoph may have been a good brother that Klavier could respect. Then, he got caught up in something and changed for the worse. It's a good reason why Klavier became a prosecutor at all, since his brother was a defense attorney, and they planned to meet in court. Sad story and stuff.

Sadly, the game never details into this stuff, so it's all just conjecture. Damn plot holes. As far as Nick is concerned, Kristoph has regressed into the shadows to never rise again... but maybe, just maybe, it's Nick who's deluding himself again. Why couldn't he set up that Jurist System like he hoped for? Maybe it's about time he got to investigating it...

:hobohodo: "Nah, Edgeworth's got that covered."
:edgeworth: "...This is precisely why I had you reclaim your badge, so you wouldn't have an excuse to skip out on work!"
:Hoboright: "But I never get any clients anyway. What am I supposed to do? I don't have clearance to actually go in and investigate stuff..."
 "Oh, but you do. I've given you clearance. Now get off your rear and get to work!"
:hoboleft: ... :nick: *sigh* "Who made him the boss again? Oh wait..."

Is it as simple as that? I dunno, but it sure makes an amusing background conversation.

I'm saying that would be funny considering how low Gumshoe's pay was in the original trilogy with his salary getting lowered all the time.

In the official AA5 book, the creators stated they had toyed around with the idea of introducing Apollo's dad (which was supposed to be Clay's role initially) who came back from Egypt or something.

So yeah.

Oooooooooooooooh, so THIS is why a lot of people started asking if Clay Terrans was Apollo's dad, hmm... I see, thanks for sharing. Other than that, was it stated WHY they bunked the idea? If so, does it have a future?

I think they just wanted to draw in new players who could delve into the game without having played AJ.

Yeah, this has been mentioned before but I still second it.

I think it would be interesting. Everyone could have different Partners, like Apollo with Trucy, maybe have Maya come back for Phoenix, and maybe somebody new for Athena. Also, I want to See a judge as the main villain.

P.S. Kristoph is not coming back, people need to realize that and get over it.
