According to the same people that thought Thalassa Gramarye, Apollo's mother, was dead: Zak and Valant Gramarye? Pfft, please, you know as well as the rest as the fandom that it wouldn't be the first time in the series that an alleged "dead" character actually survived from a thread of hope or got out from a coma. Maybe Apollo's dad was someone tailing Magnifi, I mean, look at his face, it doesn't radiate "I do magic tricks for an honest living", maybe he had ties to the mafia or something, or a smuggling ring, seeing as how the series is taking a direction towards more serious tones such as contraband, smuggling, corruption and such. Still, Mia was the only exception to the rule that the tutorial cases feature the protagonist at work. For O'Connor to head the defense - that is, we get to play as him - it wouldn't quite work out if it's not his name on the title. He doesn't have a strong connection, via plot or otherwise, to the Wright Anything Agency outside of that recent case. This could work as a DLC case, however, if Capcom ever plans for something like it.

Far from it. Starring a completely new character for prosecutor is much more likely than switching a long-term missing background character - who has been assumed to be dead, even if he isn't - from his original career as a magician and to one as a lawyer. I have no problems with magician-lawyers or magician-detectives, but there's at least gotta be some hint or foreshadowing of his dad's reappearance.

Like I suggested, the tutorial case could be handled by Hugh O'Conner, Robin Newman and Juniper Woods as a TRUE mock trial with Phoenix Wright being the victim, Athena Cykes the defendant and Apollo Justice the TRUE murderer. Heck, they could even throw in Dick Gumshoe as the homicide detective, or even Ema Skye! xDD

Somehow, I want a spin-off, when you play as Mia Fey before the events of AA. With Lana as a main prosecutor for the game. But she would need an interesting story that could be resolved and that was somehow connected to SL-9, with Lana being somewhat cold and all that, but, of course, without spoiling 1-5...
