According to Gameinformer, Pokemon Bank has been removed from the eShop because of the strain on the eShop. Additionally, the EU and US release dates have been moved to the 31st.
Hopefully they take time to patch the app before rereleasing it.

I believe Gen. 2 was the only Gen. where having a shiny made the Pokemon slightly stronger, and I believe it had to do with the coding of what made Pokemon shiny in the first place, which was completely overhauled beginning with Gen. 3.

None of the Pokemon on my team are ubers. It feels cheap using them.
No, seriously. That actually happened.
I battled some guy this weekend and he used flamethrower on my Gyarados three times in a row (forget what was using it, but it wasn't even a fire pokemon). Sometimes life throws an opportunity at you to set up with dragon dance three consecutive times and you just gotta take it.

I don't doubt many people use their ubers on random battles but so what? It's largely a single player game, many players don't think about the competitive meta I'll bet. They'll just be like "Hey here's this cool legendary creature I caught =D I bet that's good or at least cool since it's unique!" and use it without two thoughts for the meta.
Also Fairies are stupidly buff anyway for resistances and weaknesses.
