Comes with the limited edition of this game, exclusive through e-Capcom. You'll need to make an account on the site first to access the shop.

I suppose those outside of Japan wouldn't be able to purchase from here?

Some items do but it take a while. It would either show up on amazon,eBay, or sites like play-asia

I like to think that Capcom is making this as a way of saying “We are sorry for that awfulness that was GS5. Please accept this as our token of apology. Please don’t stop loving us!”

The only thing that was awful about GS5 was the digital only release outside Japan (whatever other minor issues it had aside). If they do this right, this collection could be excellent. If not, it will be iOS all over again. Now THAT would be awful.

I just feel that GS5 was a bad AA experience, mostly due to the fact that it was too easy (go see the tread on that) and I was genuinely disappointed by it. Now the story felt genuinely AAish, but I miss the days when I would wonder environments endlessly, examining every little thing, presenting ever last shred of evidence to everyone I could find all in an effort to continue the story. GS5 failed me on that note, and that is why I think it is crap. Not exactly bad crap; it still has a few bit that were good, but in comparison to previous entries, yeah, it's crap.

I just feel bad for anyone who got introduced to AA through this game and decided to play this trilogy. They would pull all their hair out till they look like a cancer victim.

On the contrary, if they play the trilogy after playing GS5, it suggests that GS5 has done its job, and based on GS5's sales, there's a good chance 123 will gather up plenty more new fans.

...Too bad they'll probably stick to the Japanese fan sites and not here. Thankfully, I have noticed an increase in new members as of late, so DD hasn't been doing too badly itself.

So because it's slightly easier and has removed the pixel-hunting, it's crap? If anything, that's a plus, because as you put it "They would pull all their hair out till they look like a cancer victim.", is sometimes what I almost did when I got stuck investigating and had to scan every little thing in every location, looking for that one thing to push the story along.

And there's plenty that make GS5 better in some ways than previous entries. For one, you can play any chapter of a case, instead of having to replay entire cases to get to the one favourite moment of yours. There's a gallery for the illustrations this time, which is a nice touch.

If you miss examining stuff, that's fine. But it came at a rather annoying cost, one that I'm glad is most likely gone for good.

Ehhhhh, maybe your right, and I'm just overreacting about something that really cheesed me off. I take back what I said. GS5 is not an awful game. It had a few things in it that made me mad and it did not help when I found out it was not made by Takumi (Angel choir). What was Capcom thinking?!? But still, the stories were great and it felt just as good as ever to see who did it and watch them breakdown. There are still something about that make me clench my fists when I think about it, but that is no right to wipe of GS5 as a bad game.

The things I remember were: The characters didn't blink properly, The music was from the GBA releases rather than the DS, and the game lagged on some phones.

Plus some animations like Turner Grey adjusting his glasses are gone. Pearl's theme was also removed which I find baffling.

GS5 was pretty good. Much better than Layton vs GS, which only had one good trial at the start, and a ridiculous ending.

Yes, GS5 is too easy. But I try to counter that by playing slowly, thinking lots, and trying to figure out as much of the case as possible BEFORE the hand-holding dialogue pops up on screen.

RE: GS123, I really wish that they would redraw the sprites for the main characters. They look really lame, especially when compared to the characters in case 1-5.

Uh, that could be considered spoilers for Layton vs GS.

I basically figured out case 5-5 before the trial even happened. It was kind of fun to see how my predictions came true.

And I think the main characters look fine for GS123. The HD looks nice and it should look good with the 3D background. Now, I just wonder if they'll keep the same sound effects and voice clips.

This would be perfect to release with Layton v. Ace Attorney, all the Layton fans who love the Ace Attorney gameplay can grab the trilogy and be (almost) all caught up.
Who? Wright? Yeah, I remember him, I hear he's busy lately. You know, not to ring my own bell, but I sort of taught him everything he knows. I'm sure he's grateful.

Not really, it's just an opinion.

I thought the trials to be rather respectable, actually. They too are pretty easy until the last one, which can be confusing at times, but I notice the hand-holding in this game is restricted to the beginning of the second trial and whenever hint coins are used, in which they literally lead you to the right answer among a few wrong ones.

The puzzles are a breeze compared to those in other Layton games, though. I rarely ever needed a hint, and the times I did, I overanalyzed the problem.

The ending... was enjoyable, is all I'll say. Thank goodness none of these versions have Narumiya's voice acting.

If you want to see subs and annotations don't seem to work for whatever reason, try this substitute version. It is lower quality but it is the best I could come up with quickly.

Well, I'd assume that there is no real point in not using the existing translation and that there is no reason to stall due to "market reasons". It's a compilation re-release, not a new game.

I'm pretty sure icer's talking about how the DS games in Japan had English text as well as Japanese text.

My answer to that is, I have no idea. Dunno if anybody will know before it's released.

Sorry to say, but the only things I'm interested in this list are the drama CD and the new BGM arranges. The CD has fanservice plastered all over it, and yet I still want to know what kind of tacky case it is to be called "Turnabout Combination" and how both Wright and Edgeworth could manage to be main characters in the same case. I suppose the tracks would jump between the two during their investigations, but where does Godot come in?

Ah, shit. I thought it would be a case where you play as Phoenix and Edgeworth and the music from it would go on the drama cd. It could've been the fifth case of JFA
