I think that was the whole point of Damian's Tenma Taro persona to stall for time when he first did it to drive any suspicion away from his daughter Jinxie and the second time was to help out Apollo.

You've summed up my feelings exactly. I would have to add that it felt almost like a reboot of the main AA franchise because it's on a newer system, it's been 6 years (going on 7 this year) since AJ (in the States at least) and it has a bunch of new mechanics to enhance the gameplay. Shout out to your signature, by the way; I've been meaning to re-do the first 3 games and AJ after completing all of DD (including Turnabout Reclaimed).

I would URGE anyone who hasn't played the game yet to play Turnabout Reclaimed in between case 2 and 3. Firstly, I think its a really fun case that has all the elements a third case should have (better than the actual third case in my opinion) and it also relates to a certain reappearing character who appears in The DLC case and case 5. In case 5, this character just appears for a very small amount of time, so if you play case 5 first it's probably going to seem like a strange/"cheap" cameo. This character has a much stronger presence in Turnabout Reclaimed, so if you play that first then this character's appearance in case 5 will simply be a farewell/everyone coming together for the end kind of thing, which makes much more sense.

It was really fun, but keep in mind what I said about not playing them again anytime soon. Now, I played the four GS games, the two GK games, read the GS and Gk manga, played Ghost Trick and lastly played DD, so I did a few more games than you are, but I'd still recommend you A) don't play so much of it every day that you get sick of it and B) have another game to play for when you want to take a break. Not to mention that Case 4+5 would probably be a little bit too big, especially that Case 5 resolved mostly around the past stuff and was one big culmination of events.

Wanting an intro for case 5 isn't really a good excuse, I think. There's no reason they couldn't have stuck it in the middle of the case if they were combined; after all, 2-4 had a "second intro" at the start of the second trial.
I think the cases were split up to make a selling point. "Hey guys, we totally have five cases in this game!
"(Just how stupid do they think we are...?
)

)Like Thane said, the DLC case could be the fifth case (even though they advertised it as a sixth). This being Capcom and all, I'm willing to bet the DLC was all but completed by the time the game came out. They could've made it the third case and then combined 4 and 5. Then, *gasp* Capcom could make a DLC that they started producing after the game (not Turnabout Quiz)

And yeah, I'd be surprised if the DLC case wasn't completed by the time the game was out. I really think the DLC case was just a way to squeeze more money out of us.... although not really in a bad way. In a "pay for it if you want it" sort of way ^^" I'm just a bit disappointed that it doesn't seem like we'll be getting any more DLC cases, because I feel like another DLC case or two would be a nice way to provide some content in between the major (full game) releases. (I mean, it obviously isn't impossible, but there hasn't been anything to suggest that they will.)

I will concede that the second case for me was really boring, but every other case is really solid,

The DLC case was really good as well, and I will say, it has one of the best plot twists in the series.
The only thing I kinda didn't like was how streamlined the investigations were. There was no incentive to try and really investigate since it only let you examine at certain points, and all you really had to do was examine everything that the cursor lit up on and it was over.
Also, the Edgeworth Objection sound. Just, why.
But aside from that I really enjoyed it and I definitely don't regret buying it.

I knew Dual Destinies was easy before, but holy shit. Dual Destinies is easy. It would definitely be my favorite game of the series if it was harder but this was more like reading a book, not solving a mystery. Mind you, it's a damn good book, but I didn't feel like I was solving the mystery. I felt like I was just watching it unfold

I knew Dual Destinies was easy before, but holy shit. Dual Destinies is easy. It would definitely be my favorite game of the series if it was harder but this was more like reading a book, not solving a mystery. But yeah it's a bit of a shame everything is so easy or 'streamlined' as I'm sure some people will put it.
I think it's mostly down to the fact you can only investigate one or two areas, clues found elsewhere are just given to you by other people. Whereas before you'd have to scan the background for things.
Like looking at 5-2 there's a TONNE of backgrounds with lots of cool things going on, it's a freaking Yokai festival after all. Yet you are never allowed to examine anything there, and it'd would have been perfect to hide some clues in.
More importantly I think it means you miss out on little bits of adorable dialogue. I like all the bonus dialogue from examining random stuff, it leads to funny things like cool Police references and stepladder jokes (though this game just gave you the stepladder joke I suppose). It just felt like it took a lot out of it because of it.
