Well, it looks like fun, the story may not make a whole lot of sense in parts, but it overall looks fun.

Fun? Isn't that the point of games to begin with?

Besides, Lightning is kinda hot...

Where does it not make sense? I think it does in everything - except the one thing in the Ending, which as I said, I feel was done to give us a happy-but-still-bittersweet taste to the game's ending.

Well, shit. People have been screaming up and down how the game sucks because the story doesn't make any sense. Of course, I have no reason to actually play XIII anymore, considering I know what happens. But...I like the Final Fantasy series. I hate the fanbase though, it's just a bunch of people in denial that the FF series is quickly declining. Seriously guys, I can name a bunch of RPGs that are much better than Final Fantasy at the moment:

    Shin Megami Tensei
    Persona (3/4)
    Bravely Default
    Pier Solar (HD)
    Penny Arcade Rain-Slick games
    Breath of DeathVII
    Cthulhu Saves the World

Still. I played the game once and rushed through it, I had no problems with the story. I played it a second time, taking my time, I still got the story. I never had any trouble understanding the story, even without reading the Datalog.

Quote:
Persona (3/4)

I will always point that game out to people who complain that it's "Game Over" in XIII if your leader dies. It happens in P3 and P4, too, and it never bothered me there. Apparently it happens in Fire Emblem, too. Haven't played those games.

But still... people are morons. Always complaining, "whaaa, it's Game Over if my leader dies" not realizing that what they are experience is not a fucking Game Over. What is going on, is that you are RESETTING to prior to the battle. That is not a Game Over! A Game Over is if you have to reload your latest save, which means you could lose hours of gameplay.
XIII is not a Game Over, it's a reset. I swear, next person I hear complaining about that will get a verbal internet punch to the nads/ovaries. :two-faced:

In FF XIII? No. Unless you are talking about Persona 3 and 4, in which case, yes, as long as you were playing on Easy or Normal.

Behold, more amazement about the iPad version of the Ace Attorney games!

And thanks to a fantastic bug in the iPad version, I don't even have to spray to see it--it's already glowing blue before I even do anything. Better still, spraying it doesn't trigger the conversation about the bloodstain. Delightful. Good thing I don't need to enter the bloodstain into the court record, or I would be fucked.

Spoiler:
Why was Anima, a Pulse Fal'Cie, on Cocoon?
Why did Light not believe Serah when she told her that she was a l'Cie? She had the brand, and everyone else knows that the brand = l'Cie.
Look at this, then look at this. What prevented the group from doing that?
How did millions of people living on Cocoon not die when Cocoon started falling towards Gran Pulse?
If Barthandelus's goal was to destroy Cocoon and bring "The Maker" back, then what? What would have happened if He did come back? "Oh hi, Maker, I just happened to kill everyone, are you happy with me?"
Why was Snow striking the exact wrong place if he wanted to get the crystallized Serah unstuck from where she was?

Spoiler: To answer those
#1 - It's revealed in Chapter 4, when you are at Vile Peaks, that after the War of Transgression, the people from Cocoon took things from Pulse to repair part of Cocoon's shell. Anima, and his Vestige, were part of it.
#2 - Sera simply said she was a Pulse l'Cie - as well as telling her in practically the same sentence that she got engaged to Snow - and remember, she kept a bandage on her forearm, hiding the brand. Until Sera gets found in the Vestige, her brand is not shown to Light.
#3 - Story and Gameplay Segregation, honey.
#4 - I don't think that was ever really explained. We do see people living on Pulse and Cocoon in XIII-2, so not many or tons of people died during the ending of XIII. But contradictory to that, Vanilla says in LR that lots of people died because of her. However, both of those are in the sequels, not in XIII itself.
#5 - The Fal'Cie's goal was to kill humanity and bring the Maker back, which was supposed to relieve them of their assigned duties.
#6 - It's Snow. He's a complete moron, that's why.

As for South Park, eh, it had some fun parts in it... I think of the newer episodes, I liked the WoW one (although I could very easily have done without the Explosive Diarrhea joke) and the Facebook one. I like crude humor, but some of the humor in the series is even below me. Also, same problem I have with other shows and everything: why give me scenes of people having sex if it serves no purpose?

Spoiler:
Which only brings up the questions of:
Why did Serah not take off the bandage to show Light?
If Serah never took off the bandage, then how did she get discovered?
What prevented Orphan from casting Death on itself?
If this series has had gameplay and story integration in the past, then why not keep having it? Also, Snow's Eidolon could have easily gotten past that, considering how he used it/her/them to save Light and Hope earlier. Also consider Fang's Eidolon.
AND WHY TURN THE EIDOLONS INTO TRANSFORMERS? HOW IS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY?

Spoiler:
#1 - Because she didn't quite want to believe it herself yet. And knew that her sister would probably not believe her, despite the brand. Given the news, she'd probably think it was a lie so she wouldn't care if she ran off to marry Snow.
#2 - Anima became animate. Also, Dajh was in Bodhum, and remember, he had obtained the ability of sensing Pulse l'Cie due to becoming a l'Cie himself.
#3 - Fal'Cie can only do their respective jobs. If Orphan's job does not include being capable of committing suicide, he flat-out can't do that.
#4 - You can ask that about ANY game.
#5 - Because they look cool?

So, I just started playing Thief Gold because THIEF is coming out soon, so I got to the 4th level, and if this has happened to you, ya know how frustrating it is, you'll understand.

So, after trying to make a jump, I was falling to my death when I thought "I should quick-load", but I hit f11 instead (quick-load is f12)...and fucking quicksaved. So, I re-load to my death. Every. Goddamn. Time.

So, I'm faced with giving up on the game, or restarting the mission. I don't want to restart because I quite a ways in from a maze.

Oh well...good game, though.

Okay, update on my Thief issue; I just sucked it up and did the level over. Then I beat the next level, which took me about 2 hours. ONE LEVEL, TWO HOURS.

Anyway, I'm on the level "The Sword" for those who've played the game.

Anyone else think it'd be a great idea to get a forum game of D&D going?

It's probably a terrible idea that would be a nightmare to organise, but a guy can dream, right?

Well, one of those online d&d resource things, like roll20, google hangout/skype/whatever, a number of players between three and six at the absolute maximum stretch, even five can be a hassle), someone DMing (probably me, considering I'm having the idea, which would also make this a horrible idea because I've never DMed before) and a regular time slot that agrees with all our time zones and schedules.

So yeah, as I said, it'll never happen, just a thought I had.

What would this plan of yours entail?

Well, one of those online d&d resource things, like roll20, google hangout/skype/whatever, a number of players between three and six at the absolute maximum stretch, even five can be a hassle), someone DMing (probably me, considering I'm having the idea, which would also make this a horrible idea because I've never DMed before) and a regular time slot that agrees with all our time zones and schedules.

So yeah, as I said, it'll never happen, just a thought I had.

Im officially lost xD

Anyone else think it'd be a great idea to get a forum game of D&D going?

It's probably a terrible idea that would be a nightmare to organise, but a guy can dream, right?

I've always wanted to give D & D a shot. I'm somewhat familiar with 3.5e rules thanks to Neverwinter Nights 2 and Order of the Stick.
