Honestly, anything with Charley having a major role in the story somehow purely by coincidence is fine by me. He's by far my favorite character... beside Steppy and Missile. Now, there's an amazing combination.
Works well with the swimming competition too. Dogs aren't the best swimmers, but they can be trained to become better.
I already had a title too: Missile the Dog: Detective Destiny. Now with Charley as witness and Steppy as victim of kidnapping.

These are all things we'd like to know and her "story" isn't over until there's an actual cap to it instead of just responsibility lined up in front of her and we cut to seven years into the future.

I was kind of wondering about the idea of Judge-AA as well - it seems like a natural route to take if Takumi wants to give a new perspective while still keeping the "裁判" part of "逆転裁判".
Other possibility: picking up the Jurist System and playing as a juror (or 裁判員)? Granted in 4-4 they made the juror's role seem pretty passive, so there'd have to be some rearrangement there.

I'm with BP here, actually. The last time I saw a game where we play as 裁判員 wasn't a very exciting game, even if the mysteries themselves were respectable. I forget what it was called, sadly. As for determining the verdict ourselves, it certainly can be done and isn't that difficult to apply, but the problem is how detached the drama would feel from that side of the courtroom. I suppose we'd have to change attorneys to those who tend to make more mistakes than not, so we can correct their mistakes and solve their case for them... wait, what.
Still, for a judge to be able to figure out a case him/herself before any attorney catches on is impressive. But then it'd feel like we're not in court and instead are babysitting kids who can't seem to get along.

Coming up with a mystery is hard enough. Coming up with a GS-styled mystery where there needs to be a semi-plausible argument against someone who isn't the killer is even tougher. Coming up with one of those where there are also several logic threads/false solutions to explore is even tougher.
Not impossible, but... really really difficult.
(Also, to be honest... It'd be kinda boring if the prosecution was ever right. "WE MUST SOLVE THIS MYSTERY oh the prosecution was telling us the truth of the incident from the very beginning")
I dunno, I still think that whatever this thing is, it's still going to be very much like the GS released up until now
(except for the love of god Takumi please be more like the GS1-4 you had a hand in and don't let it end up like GS5)

I didn't find the first game all that spectacular. Sure case 1-2 was good and 1-4 was even better, (in my top five.) I just don't see how the rest of the game was all that good. I figured out case 1-3 so early it's not even funny...So it felt like it was prolonged...And case 1-5 was WAY too long. even for a DLC...To me it was just a good game but I think a few others were better over all.

Thinking about it, if PLvsAA has told me anything, it's that the Bench Trial system is popular around the world (maybe). What if Phoenix flies overseas to a different country (part of the foreign exchange program for the International Bar Association) and ends up standing in court under a completely different trial system? The one given in the prologue of PLvsAA was still the original system from the games, but instead held in London with weird people and their weird names.
Naturally, to prevent identifying with any one country's system, we're going to need a completely new country. The land of Ainrofinapaj (or ンホニ), or whatever! Then we can have a completely original judicial system. （。°∀°）彡˚

I agree on the Apollo Justice's first trial thing...but...DD's first case while having much to do with the rest of the game story-wise was still easy. Yeah the developers really shouldn't waist a whole case as a tutorial. I've never played Investigations, though I plan to.

Not a bad idea per se, but I think something like this is much better-suited for a GK game than a GS game.
Also, any specific ideas for improving psyche-locks?

Psyche-Locks only seem to work on people when their keeping a secret right? But where's the line between secret and falsified secret. Such as Luke Atmey's first Psyche-lock. It was a lie in the first place that he was even there at the scene in the first place.

Honestly, I don't think Psyche-lock sequences need improvement. They suit their purpose and serve it well. Adding extra colors would only confuse them and imply there's actually a way to categorize secrets.

Hnrg... It really reminds me how much of the trash GS4 was... (even my auto-word-finish in my phone thinks so, lol). GS5 team did their best with those, best they could do with something as nonsensical as that, but I still don't quite buy the "secret/repressed trauma" dualism.
As you might guess, my opinion on GS4 heavily influences the way I feel about this new project...

I liked the forth game but the black Psyche-lock thing was so vague...And yeah, maybe not new colors but SOMETHING to fix inconsistencies cause then it just confuses the player. Maybe you don't KNOW they're keeping a falsified secret but...perhaps a more in depth way to upgrade the Psyche-lock system...like the real psyche-locks in game 3 where there are other ways of unlocking them. Sure you didn't unlock them but maybe you get to later. Like the deeper the secret the more difficult it is to unlock...But not because there are more locks to unlock, but because you need more than evidence to unlock them. Maybe Maya can give new power to his Magatama now that she's master...I don't know...All I know is something needs to change with the Magatama.
