The stage layout changes randomly every time you play the stage. I hope they include the wildlife often found here from AC:NL, like sharks and beetles. Maybe the former can be a stage hazard for being in the ocean too long.

For female new characters, Midna from The Legend of Zelda, Dark Samus from Metroid Prime (it's a girl, right? 
), Krystal from Star Fox and Palutena from Kid Icarus. In the males department, I personally hope for an appearence by Wolf Link from the Legend of Zelda, Toad from Mario, some other characters from Sonic (Tails, Knuckles, etc) and Phoenix Wright (if only as an assist trophy) 
There are others I could think of I'm sure, but that's all that immidiately comes to mind. What about you guys? Any first/third party characters you would like to see?

They would have to contact Square and Disney but it would be so worth it.

He's dispatched 'vampires', skeleton robots and Jean Descolè with his skills, so why not other characters? If Capcom can get away with putting Phoenix in MvsC3, I think they could potentially fit Layton into Smash, despite him not being the 'best' candadite

It seems to be a moving arena, as Sakurai stated that the fighters were just on top of Prism Tower a few seconds before the screenshot was taken. Just remember not to save on this stage!

If Sakurai is still following the guidelines he set down for third party Brawl characters, Sora wouldn't qualify as the majority of the games in the KH series (and especially the main games) aren't on Nintendo consoles. Professor Layton has a better chance, though he may not be "unique" enough since he hardly does any fighting in his games. Then again, that's what they said about Phoenix before Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 came along, so anything could be possible.

You've got those old MGS games on the NES I believe, Twin Snakes for the Gamecube, and most recently there's Snake Eater on the 3DS. That's gotta count for something.

That was a different situation, though. Hideo Kojima had begged Sakurai to put Snake into Melee (where it was too late, and eventually was put into Brawl), thus it wasn't a case of Nintendo asking for the third party rights as it was the other way around. Besides that, the original Metal Gear was released on the NES, so it fit the criteria of the series having had originated on a Nintendo console (well, technically it was ported from the MSX2, but that was a Japan-exclusive home computer rather than a dedicated console so it doesn't really count).
So unless Square-Enix and Disney decide to ask Nintendo to put him in the game, it still most likely isn't going to happen. I'd love for them to prove me wrong, though!

That's true, but I think it was because of the combination of Hideo Kojima wanting Snake in Smash Bros. as well as the fans that pretty much guaranteed him to be in Brawl. Kojima actually wanted him in Melee, but by then, Sakurai was already too far into development to be able to put Snake in. I really can't see the head of Square Enix pushing for Sora to be in the new Smash game to be honest.

Everyone was pretty surprised Cloud or Sephiroth didn't show up in that Playstation equivalent....All-Stars Battle Royale or something. It's roster was a big confusing mess.

I didn't mind Brawl so much, but I must agree that the pace of the fight felt hindered compared to Melee; perhaps because of the game's attempt to be more cinematic?
Hopefully SSB4 will correct that for ya; regardless of what happens though, I do hope they release some gameplay footage soon. It'd certainly help to get me a little more hyped for the game

That goes for pretty much every other rumor, too. Unless specifically confirmed by Sakurai on Miiverse and/or on the website, take any "leaked" characters as nothing more than fiction until proven otherwise.
