Schoolgirls Sporting Stripper Suits and Scissor Swords.

Chapter 21.

Spoiler:
Ok Nui is creepy as shit but not gonna lie, that kiss between her and Ryuko was kinda hot :pearl-blush:

Also laughed when Mako stuffed Senketsu into Ryuko and got sucked in herself

YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG MAKO

Biggest question for me now though is whether Satsuki will actually take Junketsu back (if there's anything left TO take back) or just play support to Ryuko during the final showdown.

Just finished Nostalgia Critic's latest video review of the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland one. The video was semi-entertaining, but his points on why the movie was bad were terrible because none of them held that much water for me.

I got the impression that the main point was because it had very little to do with "Alice in Wonderland" and was more about "Grown-up Alice returns to Underland". It was a little weird. I mean, granted it was a Tim Burton movie which are always weird, and I like 'em that way. It was just a different kind of weird that was not entertaining, which is what usually happens when he remakes something.

I felt it was more like an interpretation of his about Alice in Wonderland. One of the complaints is that the people in Wonderland aren't completely insane, which hey, if Burton read Alice and thought that they aren't as insane as they may appear to Alice - who he may see as a stupid kid - then that kind of makes sense.

Speaking of Alice, the Critic complained that she was boring... um, did he ever read the book? Alice wasn't very interesting in that, either, she was quite boring. The only "interesting" part about her was that she was rather sane in a world full of insanity. That's a difference, but not something that makes a character interesting.

Plus, people definitely saw the poster - that alone should already point out to them "This isn't like that Disney version".

Yeah, you're right. But I have to agree with him. The movie was not very enjoyable, at least for me.

Maybe it wasn't enjoyable for most people, because they went in expecting to see a live action version of the Disney Alice in Wonderland movie. After all, it WAS made by Disney, as a Tim Burton production.

I just think people only have themselves to blame, if they expected something from that movie that it obviously wasn't. I mean, just one look at the poster told you, "Alice is not a kid here".

Clearly you're a lot better at predicting what's going to happen in this show than I am.

But hell with it, I'll give it another shot.

Spoiler: Future predictions and minor complaint on Episode 22
Tsumugu's going to do something cool soon. When he first showed up, he was badass, but after Episode 5 he's been all but totally useless. Downside: it'll probably be a heroic sacrifice. I wouldn't be surprised to see it next episode either, since too much good stuff happened last time so they need to balance things out.

Also, just whining a little, but who the hell on the translation team decided on "bat-crap"? We have characters getting impaled, beheaded, amputated, hearts ripped out, and spraying literal geysers of blood, but we can't have Ryuko say "shit"? w/e

Got back into the Lupin III second (red jacket) series. Good to be watching it again. I also recently saw the Mystery of Mamo Lupin movie which was a great treat. Writing my review for the website I write for.

I've also been watching True Detective. Two episodes left. Really good stuff so far.

On a related note, my Internet provider Comcast finally caught me torrenting after all these years. It was for said series, True Detective. Not really worried though. I don't normally download mainstream media and from now on, it'll only be through direct downloads in my browser or with VPN connections. I've been torrenting for years and don't plan on stopping.

Watched the last half-season of the Clone Wars, damn, half of that half-season was really quite depressing, and as usual so much better than any hypothetical prequel trilogy that totally doesn't exist. Seeing the concept art of what they had planned for the remainder is quite a bummer, knowing that we'll never see it on screen now, only in comic form. Seriousy:
Spoiler:
QUINLAN VOS FIGHTING DARTH MAUL! Also, Boba Fett learning from Cad Bane apparently.

Anyway, after tat, got back on to watching Mobile Suit Gundam. Char's back, baby!

I'm going to be watching that series right after I finish Gundam Wing. Looking forward to seeing the original man behind the mask that spawned all those Char-inspired characters.

Finished the final season of Dexter.

Spoiler:
Yeahhhhhhhhhh, I can see why people hated that ending.

Personally, I didn't so much hate it as just felt disappointment about it being so lousy; then again, the whole series had been going downhill since like third or fourth season anyway so whatever. The show started with Dexter being so precise and methodical, but then it got to the point where it seemed like the only way they could think to keep the story going was to have him do the stupidest shit possible (most of which involved letting other serial killers go, trying to help them, etc. instead of KILLING THEM in accordance with The Code), which led to him getting into more and more trouble. I'd hoped he would have eventually learned his lesson, but of course he didn't, and if there was any point or meaning behind the ending besides "Okay, we're sick of working on this show so we're done, no takebacks", I missed it.

Meh. Maybe I'll go back and watch the first couple seasons again at some point, but screw the rest.
