A heads up to any of our Japanese 3DS-carrying members: the Wright Selection is now available on the Japanese eShop for 3,694 yen (~$36) plus tax and will be available physically in stores in the morning for 3,990 yen (plus tax)!
As a reminder, the game includes both English and Japanese text, though unfortunately no Western release has been announced.

You might still be able to grab the limited edition from a few import sites, but I haven't checked.

Edit: If anybody has it, do the Japanese voice clips switch to the English ones if you switch to the English text? Also, is the artwork the only thing that's updated or did they also update the voice clips and music?

I'm assuming it's exactly the same as the japanese versions of the DS games, in which the english version is the exact same thing as the one we got in the western releases.
Capcom'd be dumb not to bring this collection out in the west on the eShop too.

Hmm, so it seems like people are blinking and people have at least three frames of mouth flaps again... except Maggey, who has only two for some reason. Huh... wonder if it's just her, or if some/most/all single case sprites are like that.
I don't know the full extent of the sound effect issues, but the music sounds good this time, so that's good.
Is that the same script as the DS English localization? If so, well, you know.

I just compared the playthrough I posted with another and looked at certain sections of the trial. I can say with 90% certainty that it's exactly the same, even with the text formatting. I do know that in versions on the Wii, they fixed some typos ("The miracle never happen"), so I'm just going to assume that that's fixed in this version as well

That certainly looks a lot better than the iOS version did, animation wise. Hopefully Capcom wises up and brings it here, it'll certainly be easier to introduce people to the series if they can get the original trilogy in one shot.

Based on my latest knowledge (might be outdated, because it's from the beginning of the year) first and foremost you need a 3DS with quite old firmware, lower 4.5. So if you happen to have newer firmware you can already forget to mod your existing 3DS. It also requires the one time use of a NDS flashcard, which means an additional purchase. Of course online functions on this 3DS are limited, because you can't ever update your firmware.
I guess in most times it's less of a hassle just to buy a second 3DS.
