Not as underwhelming as Club Nintendo UK. Just be glad you get stuff at all. :/

Suppose that's true, though I'm still jealous that you guys had the opportunity to buy a Super Mario 3D World OST as a regular gift. I'd love to get a nice soundtrack myself, but ours never offers any. Did you guys ever have the chance for a Mario Galaxy one as well, or was that Japan?

I think that's a gift that's permanently there. We can redeem it anytime we want, given we have enough stars.

I wish they had the Hanafuda cards again. Those looked nice.

Also, yeah, I don't think anyone uses greeting cards any more...

All this talk of Club Nintendo rewards is making me really mad that the website has been down (at least for me) all damn day.
And even once it gets back up, half of the rewards won't apply to me because they're for the Wii U.
*sigh* Ah, well. I'll probably just go for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D... If only to make 'Expand Dong' jokes. :yogi:

I tried downloading Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D...

turns out, it doesn't fit on a 2 GB SD card.

Welp, I'll have to clear out some stuff on mine then.
It's an 8 GB, but I have about one gig left (Why do I still keep music on there when I have a dedicated MP3 player, anyway?)

...Also, is anyone else having problems getting on Club Nintendo's website?

As far as I remember, Alfred wasn't a complete dumbass. He even had above-average intelligence, he just wasn't the genius Alexia was. And her intelligence is explained by the fact she inherited the "precious DNA" of the family's 'female lineage' (Veronica), said to be superior in intelligence and beauty.

I like how in VLR there are different endings that sometimes open up by completing other ending arcs from the different routes that you take since information from one route is used to open up more in another ending route.

I quite liked Jake Marshall, although I felt no sympathy for him when he went on about what he did and why he did it. (It's been so long since I played that case I can't remember what actually happened xD).

I agree with you on Angel Starr though, I hated talking to her. :ron:

I don't see why 1-5 was such a bad case. I liked the character design for each character except Ema since I agree she is pretty much Maya but with science.

The characters are more annoying than entertaining. Gant felt like they tried to make a villain more intimidating than Manfred, which they failed for me. The addition of evidence law for this case is stupid, that photo Angel presents should actually not exists (I'll jump over to the cough up thread after this post) and the case is too long and takes too freaking long to get to a final point. Also the forensic science stuff wasn't all that fun to do.

I've never thought of Gant as someone meant to be intimidating for the player. He had authority because of his power, while Manfred had little actual authority but could use it anyway by being scary. For me the thing with Gant is that he's funny evil, whereas Manfred is evil evil.

Overdone memes, for one.

Been organizing my room a bit today and, while going through the Wii games, I came across The Last Story. I've never played it, and almost forgot it had online play where you could group up with other players and take on bosses or something. Now that Nintendo Wi-Fi's down, though, I'll never be able to do that. Little sad.

Of course not. Because Zelda games are about the sto-pffffft! :gant: Can't even finish that sentence with a straight face.

But since Nintendo has this family-friendly image, I guess they can't put in jiggle physics, however subtlely, without the families raging and demanding an M Rating for the game. Because children can't see boobs jiggling...! Although they jiggle with everyday activities.

Ugh I loathe jiggle physics in games. It demeans the whole experience for me. If it's just one character then I might be able to overlook it (looking at you Litchi-Faye-Ling) but if it's the whole cast ala D.O.A. then it's annoying. I remember playing D.O.A. at a friends and as a demo in the store and thinking it looked amazing and enjoying the combat system but I don't want to buy a game with that kind of image.

If I was buying DOA, I would probably be feeling embarrassed about it. A game with that much fanservice? I can just imagine it being kind of awkward xD. That said, I don't really have any interest in the game anyway, I played the demo and didn't really enjoy it. I found it very boring, in fact.

Though it's the same for any game. Jiggle physics and any other type of demeaning fanservice can really reduce the quality of a game.

But... but... but breasts jiggle all the time in real life! I don't have big breasts, but even I can tell that mine jiggle even a little bit when I, like, walk or run. What do you think breasts do when they move? Jump? I won't deny that some DoA games have exaggerated jiggling (heck the first DoA had super unrealistic jiggling - thankfully you could turn it off) but a little jiggle is perfectly normal.

It actually isn't. I bought DoA 4, DoA 5 (twice) and DoA X2 and such and I never felt embarrassed about it. For me, it's first and foremost a fighting game (except for Xtreme Beach Volleyball/Xreme 2, those are volleyball and relaxation and collection games for me) and the panty shots or jiggling that might happen are just something on the side.

It's like the CGI transformations in the new Sailor Moon anime. It's there, it's a bit awkward, but not that much of a big deal that it would bother me. I can easily ignore it. And, as I said, the outfits in DoA5 are among the most modest to date. Eve some of the DLC outfits are pretty tame. (Yeah there are bathing suits. So? They've been there before)

Yeah Cat but the term "Jiggle Physics" doesn't mean regular realistic motion, it means specifically the exaggerated fanservicey kind present in DoA and other games.

I don't really believe you about the DoA X series, sure they pick volleyball as the 'game' but the entire purpose of the game is fanservice. Even the sport beach volleyball already has a lot of sexy stereotypes about it.

DoA X's purpose is fanservice, it just uses volleyball as a vehicle to achieve that.

And as I said, the jiggling in DoA5 is toned down. I don't notice a whole lot. Yeah I notice it on, like, Tina or so, but then she always was the type to give us lots of fanservice with her poses and outfits.

Hence I said it's mostly about volleyball, relaxing and collecting for me. Yeah it's a spin off of fanservice. Honestly, I'd like a DoAX with the guys. Give the women something to ogle at. (Which we already can with the bathing suits for the guys in DoA5) I got DoAX/X2 because I wanted to play the volleyball minigame and collecting bathing suits and accessories. I've played the game at least a dozen of times and I still don't have everything.

Okay. I seriously have to ask. Why? It's a tiny mechanic and never the main focus of the game. If it was jiggling like in DoA X2, the kind where they independently jiggle and for so long, it quite honestly makes me neausious at times, I may understand that. But if it's a tiny jiggle off and on during a sudden movement or so, what's so wrong or off-putting about it? Quality of the entire game doesn't fall just because of that tiny jiggle.

You know, everybody said Lightning Returns has Lightning's boobs - which were made bigger to what is the equivalent of a Japanese C cup, from what I read - jiggle all the time and it happens so often, you can't keep your eyes off of them. Well they must be seeing things. Or more than I am because... seriously, it took me three whole playthroughs to finally notice one jiggle. And that jiggle was tiny. And I only noticed it cause I currently had the Yuna X-2 garb as the on-screen one and, yes, my eyes were focusing on the top cause I marveled at how awesome the outfit looked in a black-pink scheme rather than the original colors.

And even now, even if I were to put her into the sexy garbs (which I don't do, I don't find them useful and I don't want her parading in bikini-armor in front of me) I still wouldn't notice. I'm focused on other stuff in that game.

I don't mind companies trying to make games, or the physics of a game, more realistic, that's ok, but if that's their reason why bother making the boobs more jiggly? I can't imagine people testing the physics of a game by judging how much a female character's boobs move. So, if they're not adding it in for realism, it must be fanservice, which is what bothers me. Even if it's only small, the fact they spent the time and effort to add something quite demeaning and unnecessary to a good game is what really reduces the quality.

To be honest, the fact that companies think that adding in larger boobs could make games sell more is rather insulting.

Prove me wrong. Prove that just because a game added bigger breasts (or jiggle physics) resulted in the game being sold WORSE than a predecessor. Look at Tales of the Abyss. Yeah, Tear's breasts jiggle if she's the on screen character................. totally not noticeable. I had to look to notice. So if it's so subtle that it takes effort to notice, can you really say it's done for fanservice or makes much of an impact at all?
