Kay, guys, enough with the dumb, off-topic banter jokes.

I personally call Link either Link, Twink, once I called him Mados in Skyward because that's what it sounds like when Fi says his name... and once I went the immature route and called him Balls, so Ghirahim will have difficulty remembering the name "balls" and Fi refers to me as "Master Balls"... Yay, Pokémon reference.

I've always simply called him Link. I'm so used to it, I can't call him anything else. Even if I do it doesn't feel right, so I just stick to the same name. It's the same with Epona as well.

Actually, the mention of Epona reminds me that I once called TP Link "Luke" and Epona "Mieu" because A) I was still in a Tales of the Abyss craze and B) Luke means Light and with the tears of light and shadow stuff, I felt it was nice for the game.

I just remembered that in LoZ where you can name "Link" you can actually use certain words to make it funny as hell.

I've heard of doing the same with Epona in Twilight Princess. I can't remember any examples though. ^^;

I remember one that used "your d****" as a name for Epona, so it would give "Where is your d**" and "I was taking care of your d****" and so on. This talk make me more think about pokémon than Zelda though. Before I used to name Link with my name or my sister name (for identifing our save file) and it felt akward that a boy could be named Sarah (in my sister's file).

It's nice to see we've gone from dumb, off-topic banter jokes to a discussion about how we name our characters after genitals.

A Zelda game where you play as the Triforce, running from Ganon as you try to run into the arms of your one true love, a young boy clad in green named after a 13 year old's attempt at some immature potty humor. Nintendo, get on this now!

Another trailer today, this time Link using the Power Gloves. While he can use them to summon the ball and chain from Twilight Princess to attack with, as well as a giant pillar straight out of hammerspace, he can also lift enemies and large environmental objects with them. His special appears to involve using the ball and chain to pull and flip the world over which kills everything on screen.

Maybe just me, but that pillar he pulled out at 0:35 looked like the one in Ocarina of Time that you see outside Ganon's Castle and inside his castle in the Fire Temple room. Just thought that was cool, considering we haven't really seen anything from OoT yet.

You know in the LoZ OoT I believe in the Japanese version you can be Kid Link and wield the Master Sword by cheat codes, I think? Idk.

It's possible to do that in OoT 3D in all versions I think. I know in my game, all you have to do is save a file with Link on Epona, then start a new file. Young Link starts with the Master Sword and it looks ridiculous.

Man looks cool but knowing how heavy characters play in Dynasty Warriors games it probably won't suit me too much in practice. Still good to see what is essentially a new 'character'.

Apparently, Hyrule Warriors has two new people added: Ruto and Darunia.

Great, I always wanted another game where Darunia's rocky junk is hidden underneath his giant beerbelly... and Ruto's freaky flat diamond boobs. Joybunnies. What next, ALL the Sages? Saria will sing people to death, Impa will squash their heads in with her thighs and Nabooru........ well, given what she supposedly wanted to do to LINK, uh,... *cough* she'll... have her own unique way of... dealing with enemies... *cough*

Quite honestly, I had trouble remembering all the Sages names, so I forgot about Impa. Plus, they can still make Impa squish things with her thighs.

Here's a link with a famitsu shot of Sheik being revealed and Darunia and Ruto are mentioned as well.

So I'm guessing since they're done with their Skyward Sword binge, they're moving onto Ocarina now? At least they're being consistent with a "one game at a time" representation.

As for Darunia and Ruto, I think it'd be cool if they brought all the sages. From what I've heard, 50 playable characters in Dynasty Warriors isn't unheard of, so having a huge roster of characters will give the game something for every type of fan out there. I'm sure there's some Darunia fan out there that's completely hyped now.

I'm pretty excited for Ruto. She could be annoying at times, but she was one of the few characters in OoT who had personality. Not the game needs characters like that, however, she still stood out to me.

After having been burned one too many times, I've grown to be very skeptical of any 'leak'. Especially an indirect one like that - for all we know, a Target employee just decided to troll people with a fake price label or something.
If you want to hold on to your hope, go right ahead (especially considering your username) but I'm going to assume faked until official word from Nintendo.

It is pretty much said that other targets have confirmed the price in other target stores so it gives credibility to the leak but yes ill still get my hopes up because I really want it to be real but if not then whatever. :godot:

I'm calling fake on that leak right now. I saw pictures of it a couple of days ago. If you look at the tag at 0:54, the date reads 7/14/2014. Considering that was last Monday, I'm saying it's not legit, otherwise a lot of us would probably own it already.

That date could be when they printed the tag for the game which doesn't mean that it is supposed to be the release date.

That label doesn't make any sense, anyway. It's standard policy in pretty much any major retail store that price labels only go on the shelf when the product itself is available, and they're usually printed either the same day or just before the product is to be put out. Even the computer screenshots are easy to fake for anyone with even limited inventory access.

Well if it has been confirmed in other target stores then im sure they have put forward their names and location hence they know why its also in other locations duh. Like I said anways, if they rumor is not true then whatever. If someone here on CR works in Target and could verify for us then that would be great.

Can I just say I rather dislike the part of making Sheik a separate character? Sheik ws always Zelda in disguise - disguise, note, not magically sex-changed - so putting them side by side as separate characters feels like they're making all those stupid fanfictions where Sheik (male) and Zelda (female) are, like, siblings or twins or otherwise connected real... It's like Smash Bros, all over again.

*shrugs* Like folks have said Dynasty Warriors games often have a huge list of characters so to make a Zelda version they need to scrape the barrel for it. Separating Sheik and Zelda into two separates gets around that....then again Cat maybe you'll get lucky and in any 'story mode' they have Sheik and Zelda might not appear on the battlefield at the same time. So it could still be a disguise.

The website for the game updated again, this time with a focus on OoT content, including our most recently revealed characters:

Plenty more at the website. Also, OoT alternate outfits for Link and Zelda in addition to the previously announced ones:

Now we just need some Wind Waker-style costumes and that pretty much covers every major incarnation, I think.

Waker would probably require either to make the characters smaller to fit the CG style or create the Waker appearance in "normal" size and you know people will definitely bitch about that last one. I personally find the costumes okay, although I know I will not get the Skyward Zelda one. If I were to see her do awesome shit, I'd just scream at the screen "WHY DID YOU NOT DO THIS IN SKYWARD!?"

PS: I was really hoping for a Skyward Civilian Link outfit...

Yeah the colour is definitely too 'off' to be regular Zelda. Unless it's a shot from a multiplayer mode (where any character is selectable) and there's multiple costumes.

Another forum I went to, one of the scans that was translated said something along the lines of Sheik meeting Zelda, "but it turns out that Zelda is actually..." and just cut off there. So I'm guessing it's something story related. My first thoughts go to that being a fake Zelda that was made for some reason or another. Another guess is now I'm wondering if Sheik is indeed her own character or if it's like Zelda in Melee and just another fighting style for Zelda. Either way, I wouldn't care, considering that Zelda and Sheik would have their own unique fighting styles anyhow.

A new trailer was revealed today during Koei-Tecmo's livestream, here's the English version. It covers all the characters revealed so far, and shows off some things that so far have only been seen in scans. The most intriguing part appears to be the warping of time and space around Link, Sheik, Impa and Lana that brings several time periods in Zelda history together. I suppose that would be a good reason to keep this non-canon, what with the series' already muddled use of time travelling.

Oh, and the end of that trailer... nightmare fuel for some people, comedy for others.

Who is that woman Sheik is fighting?

Another forum I went to, one of the scans that was translated said something along the lines of Sheik meeting Zelda, "but it turns out that Zelda is actually..." and just cut off there. So I'm guessing it's something story related. My first thoughts go to that being a fake Zelda that was made for some reason or another. Another guess is now I'm wondering if Sheik is indeed her own character or if it's like Zelda in Melee and just another fighting style for Zelda. Either way, I wouldn't care, considering that Zelda and Sheik would have their own unique fighting styles anyhow.

Considering the trailer showed off time and space being combined to form a mixed landmass of different time periods, it could very well be possible that this Sheik and Zelda are both actual Zeldas, with one choosing to fight in Sheik form. Perhaps the Zelda in the screenshot has been taken over by evil forces, and Sheik is trying to free her?
