You forget Tales of Eternia for PSP which US never got! :O

And ToS (and ToE) were localized by Ubisoft, not Namco; Namco doesn't have a EU branch.

I want all of them. The Tales of Destiny Remake looks so good, so I hope that Namco decides to bring over the Director's Cut.

Namco hates US gamers and even though games like ToS do GREAT over in the US. ToS I think did better on the GC then it would have on the PS2 cause the cube really lacked in RPGs, I had a few cool new IPs (Lost Kingdom pops to mind) but overall the amount of traditional JRPGs or RPGs in general were rather low on the GC. The PS2 on the other hand has such a HUGE variety of RPGs that in the US it's kinda hard for a unknown RPG to do well because they had to compete with FFX, DQ8, etc. IMO had TotA been released on the GC I think it would have done much better then it did as a PS2 release.

Had they :

a) Not screwed over the fanbase with Legendia.
b) Beta tested the game CORRECTLY.

Perhaps they would have sold a decent amount.

Seriously, Project Soul CANNOT make a good game. It is impossible. Ever since Project Soul was released, they :

a) Released Soul Calibur 3, the weakest link in the series as far as gameplay is concerned (lol I can cancel my throw animation but your throw damage animation continues so I can continue attacking you lol)
b) Released Tales of Legendia.

That enough should be reason for a disbanding of that particular team.

Hell, I see people praise TotA, except that they keep forgetting about the game crashing bug on something which I don't remember since I've never played the game more than a few hours.

That's, of course, withstanding the fact that US gamers keep getting screwed on the global experience, especially voice-acting. I mean, Namco/Bandai does actually decent voice-acting in the rest of their games, but Tales? Fuck 'em. Fuck 'em good.

You know, after a while all these Tales games just start to bleed together and form a huge puddle of suck...

Although it doesn't matter to you, probably, the JP version, although rushed, had only two bugs: keeping the Jewel of Lorelei, and Aurora Wall during Dying Moon...

Fixing these (and adding other things), they added many MORE bugs- harmful ones. (EX: Fixing that Dying Moon thing added casting Mystic Arte lock, removing status things during enemy mystic artes (only player MA in JP version had that) added GAME FREEZE when the last character dies, etc.)

But Tales VA is fine. >_>; I can't think of a VA that was really BAD, unlike Soul Calibur. >_> I shall take you on if that is your wish. :D

The quality is fine. Myself, I wish they'd stop with the Crispin Freeman fangasms N/B seem to have, but still. However, what I'm talking about is Legendia not having voice-acting for the second part of the game, no voice-acting for skits in ToS... etc.

Yeah, we did get kinda cheaped on the skits not have VA, but overall I thought the VA's sounded fine. That is the one thing N/B seems to do is get decent-good VA's for their characters. Also I agree, SC3 was the worst game in the SC series.

That Tales of Innocence trailer...

If it plays like that (and these aren't pre-programmed combos), it should actually rekindle my interest in Tales...

I just want to stab the two main characters in the face, however.

That can be said with 95% of all JRPG heros :nick:

Yeah, that game from the localizer thinking character quests were optional. >_> And I didn't like voiceless skits, but hopefully, if Nintendo pays for the translation for ToS2, we can avoid that skit travesty. >_>

SC3 wasn't bad. Even though characters were broken, it was still fun, and custom characters were a plus. I hope SC4 is better.

I'm not even talking about broken characters. I'm talking about animation cancelling. THAT's what made the game pretty bad. Broken characters in fighting games = standard fare.

Yeah, Animation cancelling is okay for action games like DMC or Castlevania, but not for a fighting game (unless its KI and your doing a 80+ hit combo <_< )

Uh... cancelling has been a part of fighting games since forever. The animation cancelling bug is something else, however.

Here's an overview of the bug: By entering the SC2 high-low guard maneuver (a bug), you could cancel any animation in the game... including throws you were performing. The enemy would be stuck continuing the animation of the throw while taking the throw's damage, making it so that you could continue to attack him while he finishes that animation.

That's what made SC3 extremely awful.

Either way, SC3 was terrible, and it ****ed up my memory card :chinami:

I hope they'll try some new stuff out, story wise--I'm a little hesitant to be 'yay' over the Symphonia sequel, but that's mostly because I didn't really think ToS was as superb as most others.

I'd like to see a bit more of the Abyss style character growth--Luke especially was pretty interesting.

ToS was good for a "Tales of", but only a decent game if compared to other series. Revisiting the world may, I hope, enable them to properly explain some stuffs, revisit some characters that were barely important (See practically the entire cast, but especially Presea and Regal)...

However, it's Namco/Bandai, so I'm not exactly hopeful that it'll be any good.

I still love the ridiculous cutscene in which Regal takes his handcuffs off to do a Hadouken and then puts them back on and goes back to being completely useless.

Also, why does everyone hate on Legendia so much? The hero was such a cock and a sister-freak it was hilarious.

See, if right then and there, it unlocked a side-quest so that you could change Regal back to the hadouken-flinging motherfucker you keep hearing about, just maybe he'd have been useful.
