YOU CAN?! You mean, like... no more endlessly grinding mid-map in a dubious arena that may or may not work wherein only the people you brought can grind? Mmmrph... if my wallet weren't already spoken for.

Pretty much.

I mean, you have to buy Reeking Boxes to spawn enemies or just wait for them to pop up randomly, and you still need to use Seals to change your characters' classes once they hit the level cap, but you can buy Boxes and Seals from shops.

So I can grind endlessly-ish? I take it I'm going to have to budget money between gold and equipment. Ah well! I'm used to it with Ogre Battle 64.

Unless you're playing Hard mode or higher, money shouldn't ever really be an issue. The game throws so much treasure at you in Normal mode it's ridiculous; I've hit the money cap several times in my file while still sitting on a pile of gold bullions.

Granted, I'm working at grinding out every character and each of their support conversations, so I have around 65 hours on my file with a lot left to do, but the point still stands.

That's not even taking into account the potential to gain access to (and pass on) really useful skills. I can make Cordelia a Mercenary to give her Armsthrift, promote her to a Hero to give her Sol, change her to a Dark Knight to give her Lifetaker, make her a Dark Flier to give her Galeforce, and then top in all off with the Falcon Knight class and the Lancefaire skill.

Hmmmm Well I downloaded the demo of the game to get a feel of the game. My strategy is to keep the Healer by at all times while protecting the healer. I just wish I knew how to have both guys attack in one turn so they both can get EXP.

It's chance-based whether both guys side-by-side team up to battle a foe, however if you develop support conversations it can end up a pretty good chance (like 60-70% of the time).

Though for the record at a certain point it's really worth it to shell out some money for EXPonential Growth (an experience-intensive DLC) which features a bunch of high exp-yield enemies who are all relatively weak. Although the strongest of them have counter and max health so you'll need to use a ranged attack to kill them.

All this talk of Fire Emblem Awakening is wanting me to redownload the game from the eShop and play it again, but I'm currently busy watching Let's Plays of the original Professor Layton trilogy. ;~;

And whenever I try to attend more than one game at a time, I get bored easily and stop. =/

Fuck Polaris from Devil Survivor 2. Fuck him. And if ONE person in my topic on GameFAQs says "Well why do you have those stupid demons? You should level to, like, Level 70 in free battles before taking him on and get better demons" they can go fuck themselves, too, because I am NOT gonna grind for several hours on free battles where I get THREE HUNDRED EXP when I need a fuck ton more to simply level up ONCE.

... But don't you have experience altering codes?

That aside, yeah... Polaris is about as tough with demons as Babel was without demons.

Yeah that's for the LP, which is on an emulator. I don't have AR for my DS.

Instead of grinding like crazy isn't there some kind of abusable strategy you can use? This would save quite some time grinding.

I'm trying! My Hikki has Holy Dance, as well as a Flight demon and a Tao Tie, so he can attack 4 spaces ahead of himself - which convenietly IS out of range for Polaris' final form. Downside, lots of demons are spawned, Polaris has 3 parts that also get turns and the middle one - the one part I have to defeat - uses Star Compression and, next turn, Supernova which hits in a straight line and anyone hit by it gets, like, 500 HP damage from it.

I also have Fumi in my party with MAG 40 (Max Parameter), but she dies instantly cause she specializes in magic, so her vitality sucks. And she also has to stand right next to Polaris. Also, she has a Tyrant, a good way to keep her MP from running low. (Especially bad since, as said, Polaris has three forms)

Seriously, I do not understand people who say Devil Survivor 2 is easier than Devil Survivor. Devil Survivor was a freaking cake-walk compared to this.

The two parts on the sides power these attacks. What I usually do is have one character (iirc, I used either Otome or Makoto) with a Kishin (attack twice) and either an animal (to move again) or a wilder (to move as far as possible) crowd control the spawns, Hinako and a set that compliments her talents on one arm, Fumi and a set that compliments her talents on the other. Fumi and Hinako are generally able to be consistently able to disable the core Polaris' main attacks quickly, allowing my MC to do some punishing.

Of course, instead of crowd control, I often have a team purely dedicated to healing. I set them (or at least one) with healing demon abilities, high durability teams (set for defense rather than offense, but not that they're weak offensively- they can usually handle themselves). I then set Samerecarm on that character, as it's rather hard to avoid deaths.

And even with this difficulty, it's still less punishing than the Lucifer fight in DeSu1 or the Babel fight in Asturo/Gin's path.

Meh. Babel was freaking EASY in every route. Even if I had a huge surprise when I first played Gin's path and saw my demons disappear. (Actually, that Babel is the easiest, to compensate the lack of demons)

And no! No! I don't want to have to go through that fuck stupid long ass annoying scene of encountering Polaris a THIRD time! Especially the first two forms. Aaaargh!! I know the "Now this is a true meritocracy!" joke is funny, but not multiple times...

Maybe you shouldn't go by what other people tell you and just find out what suits you and your eventual partner. They might like different things after all.

Either way we're a liiiittle off topic here.

Man that must have been insulting, I hear that issue a lot with folks who'll buy a game on Steam and then the next day it's like 80% cheaper in a sale.

I dunno...The Old Republic never grabbed me in the same way that KOTOR did, it's a shame really, was hoping it'd recapture the magic.

Also why so dead set on marrying Tharja before you've even seen/met her Anthony?
