Rough transcript:

Quote:
The turn of the century in the Empire of Japan

"YES SIR!"

The ancestor of that burning turnabout spirit
RYUUNOSUKE NARUHODOU
"I'll become an attorney - I swear it!"

The paralegal Yamato Nadeshiko
MIKOTOBA SUSATO
"If it's legal knowledge you need, just leave it to me!"

With fiery hope in hand, these young spirits set out to travel the world

The foundation of the century's detective arts
SHERLOCK HOLMES
"Deduction is the art of logic. It doesn't matter if you're 'right' or 'wrong'".

Literary prodigy and M.D.
IRIS WATSON
"So, my stories have found an audience even in the Orient?"

REASONING START

"Well then, Mr. Wright. Let's begin our deductions!"

"We'll begin here. There's a number of small words written as memos. It looks like Japanese. What does it say?"
"Chocolates, cookies, biscuits, egg pudding..."
"A sweet-lover from Japan, then."

"Next up is this. She seems to be hiding a book in her sleeve."
"Well, her sleeve is sort of bulging-"
"There's no mistaking it. It's a textbook on English law."
"...You figured it out from that?"
"She's an unmatched legal fanatic."

"Now look. Her gaze goes to the left and up. Clearly, a mind in the midst of deductive reasoning."
"...Actually, I'm hungry."
"Thinking about dessert again?"
"In other words, this woman's true identity is... a paralegal Yamato Nadeshiko!"
"...Well, that is how we introduced her, after all."

OVERWHELMING MYSTERIES
UNSURMOUNTABLE CASES
UNPARALLELED TURNABOUTS

FROM JAPAN TO ENGLAND, A TREMENDOUS STORY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

The foundation and the ancestor
The detective and the attorney

Now, their meeting shall bring about a miracle!

Oh man that deduction sequence looked awesome, just exactly how I'd want Sherlock to examine a witness in an AA setting.

You know I think Takumi wasn't really looking to make a Meiji based Ace Attorney game but just a crossover with Sherlock Holmes.....
Now I think the Sherlock Holmes II quote by Phoenix has more meaning then ever :eh?: before....

"The game is afoot", indeed.

1:51 We get to investigate a half-eaten plate, probably something a victim ate before s/he died. It appears to be a meat dish on a Japanese style platter, and the butler waiter had mentioned a restaurant in the early scans. Looks like the first case is about a murder by poison.

1:53 Ryuu appears to have found trouble with a strict bailiff. It's not like he means to stare; he's just nervous on his first day in court.

1:55 "Why have you cut your beard?" Holmes questions the suspicious Russian man. He held a pair of scissors when they found him, and Holmes compares his appearance now with that photo of him in the newspaper.

Ah, the art of logic. If only I could catch all of these trains of dialogue, we could have a clearer picture...

I'm ready for this. I'm am oh so ready.

The visual style is pretty impressive in motion, I like it a lot. Not to mention the amount of English text in the trailer is making me hopeful for the localization, foolish, I know.

Looks great. The animation looks so smooth, even more so than Dual Destinies. Hell, it even has an era-appropriate Payne ancestor. Now we just need the judge and the main prosecutor and we'll have the core cast.

I like it! The Joint Reasoning is very interesting. I hope the game will use a visual similar to in the trailer. The camera shifting and analyzing is neat.

So, I don't know if voice actors were listed anywhere, but I can definitely tell Ryuunosuke is voiced by Shimono Hiro. Mikotoba sounds like Hanazawa Kana. Watson sounds like her too, but it could be someone else. Can't figure out Holmes right now either.

This is looking really good. I love the style of the deduction scenes; the thought route in DD was always really cool so I'm excited for more flashy reasoning games.

Man, it would be so great it Capcom did what they did for GS5 and announced the localization in the next couple of weeks.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Thanks, now I see what he's saying: "A late lunch... it seems to be a recent trend in the British Empire." According to the butler from a previous scan, a certain professor - who may be victim, actually - arrived around 3:00. I suppose shortly after, he met with an associate who ends up as the defendant.

This case is easy pickings. What interests me most, though, is that we get an investigation phase for the first case, I would presume.

I am really pleased to see that there is a Japanese version of Payne. Heh, I wonder what his first name will be. We have Winston Payne, Gaspen Payne, so who will this iteration of Payne be named? Ah, I can't wait for this game!

With this taking place predominantly in England, my hopes are getting higher for localization. Then again, I won't get too excited because you never know what could go down. :ron:

That trailer looks amazing, though. PLvsAA is making me crave some more of the good ol' Takumi Ace Attorney, and this is already shaping up to be great!

Hm, what makes you say that? I've been assuming all the footage of Holmes is from case two.

On that note, is it just me, or does the room beard-man and Holmes have been shown in kind of look like a (admittedly very large) cabin on a ship? Perhaps case two's murder takes place en route to London, and Ryuunosuke and Susato meet Holmes there.

Well, it could just be a 3D examination in court, but there's footage of a meat dish under scrutiny, and the design of the platter has an Asian look to it. From an early scan via Famitsu last week, a waiter testifies on the stand about a professor visiting a restaurant, and it's in the Japanese court. Now unless they stop by a Japanese-themed restaurant in London, I'm going to assume it's from the first case.

But now that you brought it up, that room does look like the interior of a cruise ship. At first I thought it was a hotel, but it'd be strange to meet Sherlock Holmes in some random hotel.

And speaking of long-distance trips, who will be paying for the souvenirs: Susato or Ryuu? My bet's on Ryuu, but I wouldn't doubt it if Susato didn't want to rely on his allowances.

Someone dish out a prize, I'm sure I saw "Old Balding Traditional Samurai" somewhere in the "Pick your Prosecutor" segment.

Also looks pretty rad.

But that's just the Winston Payne substitution, so it doesn't count for the PYP contest.

Great trailer. I loved the joint reasoning scene: it shows the basic idea behind the system (gameplay), but also shows the viewer the personalities of Holmes and Ryuunosuke (how Holmes builds his thoughts, Ryuunosuke's (nori-)tsukkomi) in one smooth scene. The camera movement in the whole trailer promises much good for the full game too.

The seal on the armband looks the same as the modern prosecutor's badge (maybe missing some minor features but the general layout is the same).

So that seems like a good deduction.

I definitely agree with Ryuunosuke being Shimono Hiro. I don't believe Mikotoba is Hanazawa Kana, same goes for Watson. Holmes sounds familiar but I just can't say which voice he reminds me of.

Edit: Rewatching this classic Sherlock Holmes scene (from the excellent Granada TV series) makes me hope Mycroft will appear too in some form or another in DGS. It'd be awesome to have to cope with Sherlock's outrageous deductions the whole game, only to have Mycroft appear in the last chapter with even crazier deductions.

I'm hoping too, but I can't shake this feeling that Iris may end up like Mycroft in some similar manner. The official site did mention rumors of her own deductive prowess...

I am not too sure. Based on the trailer and some google translate, it appears the audience will actually be the ones to defend the accused girl by finding evidence and the real murderer.

That is a publicity event held only in Japan, and this time it's back in Tokyo. The last one was based on the AAI games and was held in Odaiba. Since I've forgotten the details to participating in it, let's just skip over that.

Also, is it just me or has Nick's eyebrow fallen out of its place?
