So Fantasy Life has encapsulated my life so much atm. I've sunk so many hours into this game and I'm nowhere near done. This game is so great. Worth every penny. I'm gonna be able to play very comfortably while putting off other titles that come by. I'm just... so happy. Anyone else have this game?

I recently finished Summon Night: Twin Age. And it's just ...eh. Everything about this game was just ...eh. The gameplay, the story, the music, the presentation, all of it just fairly standard; not bad, not good, just standard. Well, okay, there were at least three challenging boss fights, but the rest just didn't leave an impression.

And stuff like this (and overall that gif, even without the text) just makes me say FNAF is not scary but rather funny.

Um, I personally use OBS (Open Broadcaster System) project for my LP videos. You set a scene for what you want to record and you can also set another scene if you want to record something else (like a webcam to film yourself) and also can choose whether you want a microphone being recorded or don't. It's free and easy to use.

I'm a huge fan of the Sims-games and so I recently played Sims 4. It's.. eh. Nice, I guess but overall I like it.

Sims 4 is nice for what it is, but it's... not really... much of an improvement, which is what you'd expect.

I dunno, maybe there's still a trial version? I didn't play it, I watched a review and the gameplay. It's nice but... eh, not really what I expect as a "sequel" to Sims 3. I mean, if you compare Sims 1 to Sims 2, there is a HUGE improvement in everything. Sims 2 to Sims 3, there were some great IDEAS behind improvements and some of the features are pretty cool, but the actual... uh... doing of the ideas didn't work out well. Like open world, but the world didn't feel populated cause many places were not properly filled with people. Sims 4... well we DO have pools now (Joy) but... it also failed a lot...

Ok. Well I am curious, still it costs a lot of money, I'm not that much of a The Sims fan anymore and to be honest, even my curiosity has somewhat cooled off since, yeah, it doesn't look that great. I kind of feel the same; the difference between number one and two was epic (especially at that time), the third sounded great but I never really got into it, and this... looks kind of cheap and I kind wrap my mind about the concept, really, what it's all about. Yay for the pools getting into the game, though. x)

Honestly, Sims 4 is not worth spending your money on. I've started playing it again today morning and I wasn't really that impressed anymore. Guess, I'll switch over to S2 again and that's that.

I have a best friend who lent me S4 right before I went and bought it myself - that was a pretty bad idea. :larry: I'm sticking to S2 for now, hopefully I'll never get my hands off it.

Been playing Bayonetta on my Wii U. It's so much fun. I really enjoy the combat (and the music).

That, and on 3DS I got SMTIV, (it FINALLY came out in Aus, as a download only game) and it's just what I expected after playing Persona. Getting sucked into the world, running around dungeons for hours not knowing where you're heading or need to go, and not caring because you're so engrossed in the game's world.

Blah... The Sims 3 has a limit on how long a Sim's family name can be. I wanted my Sim's family name to be Antonova-Yakina, but that was too long, so I had to go with the masculine form, which fit. Admittedly, the game doesn't allow middle names or patronymics, so I wouldn't have been able to throw that in, either. Her full name would have been Zinaida Lvovna Antonova-Yakina. Her initials, in Russian, would hint at one of her traits. "Злая" ("Zlaya") is the feminine form of the Russian word for "evil."

I'm in the middle of Summer 1st Year in A New Beginning. Yeah, now that I am past Sprintorial the game IS a lot more fun and more Bokujono Monogatari-like. Although I am running a bit low on an item here or there cause I sold things before a guide suggested I keep these things and collect them.

I don't know why people want to marry Neil, he seems like such a "Urgh, YOU again?" type of guy. I mean, I get it, you get him early and he's apparently easy since he seems to really like milk, but...

Spoiler: Outlast Discussion (Sensitive Subject)
I'm reading up on the game and its DLC on its wiki, to see if it clarifies a few things that I didn't quite get from the LP I watched of both. One of the trivias was that there originally was a scene planned where Miles, the protagonist, would get sexually assaulted. The scene was cut out, since they thought it would be a bit too excessive...

So let me get this straight: insane people trying to murder Miles? Okay. Fatass tubby guy who can, and will try, to rip Miles' head off? Okay. Naked twins who want to eat Miles? Okay. Insane surgeon cutting his fingers off? Okay. But getting sexually assaulted is suddenly too excessive for this game?

I haven't played but that is a trigger topic and I wouldn't be surprised if the company wanted to avoid any media controversy that would inevitably follow as a result. People don't care about cannibalism because it's not really an ever-present issue in our society. Rape? That's very real and there would be backlash. A reviewer of a GoW game knocked off a point because a trophy was called "bros before hoes." More sensitive reviewers would probably dock off some points for that appearing in the game; it's an executive decision, too.I don't personally have an opinion on whether or not it should've appeared in the game, though.

I just don't understand why sexual assault is suddenly considered too terrible for a psychological survival horror game where the entire purpose of the game was to traumatize the protagonist with all the violence and horror he sees. We also have men walking around naked, tons of gore happening and none of it being very censored... it just seems so weird that a game like that suddenly has some sort of "Oh no, we really cannot go there!" limit.

It's like if My Little Pony made the most sweet-sugary-tastes-like-diabetes episode, but stopped short of making the ponies fart rainbows because that would be just too cute. Doesn't make sense.

I highly doubt that even the most hardcore brony would want to see ponies farting rainbows. Well, maybe one person would, but you won't find more.
How much "violence and horror" actually happens to the protagonist? You've mentioned insane people wanting to kill him, someone cutting off his fingers, but most of those are pretty tame for horror standards. The protagonist seeing gore is one thing. The protagonist being gored is an entirely different matter.

Then again I see that more that the Joke is that America only likes loud, jump-scary things and does not do well with psychological, mind torture that makes you question your own sanity rather than "OMG SOMETHING JUST JUMPED INTO MY FACE AND SCREAMED!!"

Quote:

Well there are multiple ways for the protagonist to die throughout the game. One being Fat Tubby/Chris Walker ripping his body off his head (in that order, yes), the other being stabbed by machetes, boning shears, etc. Two fingers get cut off during the story, he gets slammed into things and walls, screaming in agony... The DLC Whistleblower story has that protagonist get a glass shard into his ankle, causing him to limb the rest of the game, he almost gets his frank and beans cut off with a saw, gets almost slashed through the throat or burned alive, also finally ends up with a stab to the stomach...

I'm not one for survival horror games or such, I find they go too much on "it's dark" rather than scare me in better ways than "it's dark! it's dark! YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING! THIS IS SCARY!" but Outlast is a neat game. Too heavy on jump scares, but the backstory is neat.

DreadOut is good, too, although that really is more a psychological one without jump scares. Which... many people... ended up saying it's boring...

Just saying. At the mall I work at, we now have a big display of animatronics of bears, doing stuff. I wonder how people who got really scared of FNAF/FNAF 2 would react to them. Maybe run screaming from the mall, trying to get home before it gets dark?

You know, that conversation about Outlast reminded me about how the XBOX version of Conker's Bad Fur Day censored the swearing, but left all of the blood, sexual themes, and everything else untouched. I really wanna know who looked at that game and said "Hmm, blood and gore, that's fine. Sexual themes, that's okay too. OH MY GOD, HE JUST SAID "SHIT"! CENSOR IT IMMEDIATELY!
