I guess I had a look online but I'm working with old information from Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (2nd Gen) as to the skills of Hi-Metal Armour.

Looks like the big skill is "Gunnery" which boosts the power of your Gunlance shots and Wyvern's Fire.

Which I guess is ok. I'm not sure how it'll work in 4th Gen but in Second Gen hi metal armour (low rank) only boosted the power of Cannon Shot and Ballista Shot rather than gunlance shells. You needed a higher level of skill to get it to power your gunlance shells too.

This gen, it apparently also improves your strength.

Just in terms of the defense stats it gives, it's probably better than my current armor... which is the default armor I started the game with xD

Yeah but almost anything is better than that XD.

Hmm have you played MH before BP? I seem to recall thinking you had.

I upgraded my armor :'D

Went for the Tetsucabra set. I have increased guard and health, so hooray. I also have minus gathering, but... oh well. I don't have the materials to make a gathering gem, which would let me avoid the minus gathering skill :'(

I wish I could take screenshots, I look like a red demon shogun xD

Armour looks pretty cool. Most armours come with a distinct trade off, you'll normally have at least one negative skill tied to more positive skills. As you've clocked you can make gems to take that one off or amplify your current skills. If you can be super pro you'll use mis-matched armour to give you a wide variety of skills. XD It'll look like hell but you know you are optimised.

Still how's that guard boost working for ya? Are you feeling the difference?

I haven't actually gone hunting with it yet :D

There are two slots, so I made two gems, one for defense and one for health. I thought the skills wouldn't activated without the extra boosts from the gems, but I misunderstood what the boots did, so it turns out the gems were superfluous... The health gem actually giving enough points to get the second tier of health boost, so that's cool. The defense gem is useless tho. I don't have the materials for a gathering gem, and I just need that one point to get rid of the minus gathering skill... so I'll replace the defense gem once I can build the gathering one.

(Also I think the skill I have is the one that increases my defense stat, not the one that lets me block unblockable stuff)

Trust me, it ain't so much about levels at that point. There, you've just gotta be able to avoid bullshit tactics like a pro.

Well the XII data battles are basically much harder version than their original forms. Three hits can kill you and a lot of times they use cheesy tactics and attacks

You still require skill to beat them.

Okay I've been pondering or maybe wondering if I should do some gaming videos. Ge back into uploading video games but everytime I want to something holds me back. Like I want to play games and record at the same time without any of the lag like PS2 Emu gives me a lot of lag depending on what game it is and the tweaks I have to do with its settings (due to fact some games need a better GhZ or whatever the thing is called which my laptop lacks and I do not want to touch anything on this laptop). The games I can play are the PSX/GBA/NDS/PSP/N64 those I can do without any lag. Now the program I have is Camtasia but I may need another program to record if things take a bad turn. Now for the NDS it has its own recording thing that I can simply pause with a click of the button to stop the game but regardless the game will slow down a lot even tho the recording of the game will be as if no slowing down ever happened when the recording is done. Now I could do a few things. These were my options.

A.Turn a Game into a movie From Star to Finish.(Which would be a lot of hours)
B.Record the Game but do each chapter as a whole and not into parts.
C. Record the game but do each chapter into parts. (Like for example Ace Attorney. Investigation Day 1. Trail Day part 1.)
Or
D. Just cut the recording into 15-30 mins.

I do C for my AA LPs. (The videos range from 30 - 45 minutes. The last section tend to be 1 to 1 1/2 hours long.)
A would be pretty annoying since most people don't want to start a video that's several hours long. They don't really have time to watch it, nor would they feel like wanting to do so.
B can again go really long, but it depends on each. (I did the first AA case and it was 40ish minutes...)
D is overall good, yes.

A) is what they call "Marathon Edition," which may or may not cause problems with the loading times. One wrong click on the search bar spoils the last case.

B) is easy to organise, clean and simple. Tends to suffer from irregular lengths, which makes it difficult for the viewers to schedule their sessions.

C) appears to be chaotic for some, yet is very convenient for those searching for a certain moment in your LP series.

D) must be the most used option on YouTube, what with "Let's Play Minecraft ep. 1142". Plain and simple. Often utilises funny captions and sub-titles to make up for the lack of description.

I'd advise you to combine (D) and (C), numbering your videos and putting other info in the description, or on the thumbnail of the video.

Or (A) for the hell of it. :yogi:

Just beat FFXIV, pretty exciting and dramatic ending though in retrospect the plot is a little bit of a rehash of FF12s.

Still once the final boss was dead my friend was like "So now you need to do X, Y and Z" and sure enough once I was back in the world out of cutscenes and credits a whole new bunch of quests were waiting for me. Postgame content aplenty it seems.

I'd say it depends on the kind of game you plan on doing. As far as splitting footage up is concerned, games usually fall into one of a few categories:

  • Constant-action gameplay in which there is no ideal cutoff point between major parts of the game. The Zelda games are a good example of this.
  • Mission-style gameplay in which gameplay is split into distinct missions. This tends to make the end of each mission a good cutoff point for each video. The Fire Emblem games are a good example of this.
  • Sub-mission-style gameplay in which gameplay is split into distinct missions which are further split into distinct sub-missions or sections. The Ace Attorney games are a good example of this.

Regardless of the game, I don't recommend doing A unless you expect to be able to complete the game in less than three hours like these fellows. That's impossible in most modern games unless you plan on skipping a lot of the content (something typically reserved for speedruns).

B is good for any game in which the missions are all around the same length. Otherwise, videos are going to vary in length from mission to mission--and that's not even taking into account the possibility of a video ending up longer than expected due to failure on the player's part (case in point: I had to split my video of Chapter 3 of Fire Emblem: Awakening into two parts because I messed up on two separate occasions), though this is only an issue if you prefer to show your failures.

C is my preferred approach in mission-style and sub-mission-style games, though I'll usually incorporate elements of D if one mission or sub-mission drags on particularly long. Some games, such as Kirby 64 and Super Mario Galaxy, make it incredibly easy to do this, though as with B, there is always the risk of a video becoming longer than expected due to failures--assuming you don't just cut out all failures.

D is something I recommend for constant-action games due to the lack of ideal cutoff points. Just find a spot where there's a good enough lull in the action and cut the video there.

Good. Less competition for me. Those things are pretty expensive. You have to actually get your 3DS modified (fairly expensive and you're minus one 3DS for a while) or buy a 3DS that's already modified (really expensive, but you still have your 3DS to keep you occupied while you wait).

Well atleast there isnt fully working 3ds emulator. That would be a good thing or bad thing. But either way if I had a 3ds capture card I would be able to do two sessions. One on normal and one on hard.

I bought Catherine! (And for anyone wondering, it showed the Brunette!Catherine cover)
I went to Gamestop to actually check if they had Rune Factory 2 (much as I enjoy playing the game on an emulator as well, it does have the annoying tendency to sometimes just make me fail creating things, despite having decent levels) which they unfortunately didn't have, but I saw Catherine and bought it. Horray, I can play it finally!
Though I still need to finish Lollipop Chainsaw (which I actually dreamed about though I haven't played it in a while). I also asked if they had Project Diva F 2nd on PS3 and not just Vita. They don't. I guess it was only released on PS3 in Japan?

Well I sort of know the story and some of the endings, I just don't know how to get the various endings. I'm looking forward to it! It's like playing TokiMemo 4 with no proper Guide, I need to learn everything.

You can take out the cover of the case and flip the cover to display the other Katherine, if you want to.

Depends on the version, I have the Love is Over edition and mine didn't have a reversible cover.

I enjoyed it enough, though admittedly I've barely touched it since clearing the main story. Apparently it's just like the other Dynasty Warriors games and the Pirate Warriors games are just like those, so there you go.

Nope, I have it on PS3. It was probably a fairly limited release.

I should have said it differently: It was not released on PS3 in Europe.

Hoping I can get Hyrule Warriors from gamefly since I recently return Sennran Kagura. Anybody who played Hyrule warriors, would you recommend it or should I choose another Wii U game?

I would say play it. I haven't played it yet, but the gameplay I've seen is pretty neat, even if the battle system seems like "hit button for combos". I mean, Fi kicking enemies? AWESOME!

Hyrule Warriors is great fun, and for me there's plenty to do post-game thanks to adventure mode and the new scenario unlocked for Cia with DLC.
