So, like, I just found this image and... what the fuck is he wearing? It's like someone took the gayest superhero costume with fake-abs they could design and made it even gayer! Actually reminds me of Caius' outfit, now that makes Caius gay in my head and by god, it still doesn't make him a good villain

He's wearing an outfit designed by Tetsuya Nomura. See the belt? I'm surprised he isn't wearing more belts. Or unnecessary zippers.
Also, that caption is outdated. Riku's mind has been made up since KHII.

I'm pretty sure it's meant to resemble...skin? Muscle? It's got these little channels in the outfit, the same way you see in muscle. (Though the outfit is totally rad when you get to destroy people in it in Chain of Memories XD)

By Dream Drop Distance it's even more outdated, now the Darkness isn't even trying to convince him anymore.

The ones next to the abs are meant to be the obliques. On the rest of the suit I think it's just random decoration, tho.

I'm not sure it would work with me BP as I only have the demo version since it ain't out here yet.
Plus my internet is most DEFINITELY down today :(

Edit:

So...I've been playing Dragon Age Inquisition.
Dorian's a pretty cool guy, I like hanging out with him. We head on out to do his personal quest involving his family and it's all very touching. Afterwards he says he doesn't know what I thought of him anymore.

I got some options:
(Charm): Good Things
1: You're brave.
2: It was entertaining.
3: Well it's done now.

So I think "Hmm 'Good Things' is the nicest one here, but it's got the little love heart option on it..." I think back to Dragon Age 2, how not every love heart option initiates a romance. I mean there's a moment where Fenris says "I've never learned how to read" and the romantic option there is "I'll teach you" and I was like "The hell man? That's just the nice thing to do, nothing romantic about it!" and chose it anyway. Nothing came of it. So I figured they'd give me a big warning before dropping that on me.

So I go ahead and choose it, I tell him how I think more of him now than I did before after he'd confronted his family. He starts to well up and says I say the nicest things before him and the Inquisitor get smooching.

Now I'm like :ron: But....but....Josephine....I hadn't planned on this.
Though I like the guy and he's too soppy and smitten I don't want to break his little virtual heart at this point. He might have locked me into a romance by virtue of being the first past the post so to speak.

And my girlfriend finds it hilarious because before I started the game all the people on her forum were yelling for me to have a gay romance with Dorian and I refused at the time. Well ain't I the fool now? :Hoboright:

Sounds similar to how I accidentally romanced Ashley in Mass Effect just by being nice. Since then, I've always looked up every possible romance in an RPG just so I know what chances to avoid lest I accidentally enter a relationship with someone I'd rather just be friends with (or worse, accidentally cheat on my preferred love interest). That's one thing I liked about Persona 4: romance was triggered by a specific choice that you were warned about beforehand.

As a side-note, my sister romanced Dorian in their most recent playthrough of Inquisition.

Yeah I was expecting something like that from Persona 4, where they approach you and ask you about whether you want a romance or something. I remember some of the other Bioware games running along those lines.

My girlfriend is also blackmailing me into it in a way XP. I gave her a telling off for reloading a save after a choice because a lot of people disapproved rather than standing by her own decision so now she's saying mI'm not allowed to reload on this one.

It took quite a few tries (the tail kept on giving me things besides tails, and if I got a bad start I just restarted), but I finally got the Gore Magara Gunlance!

The gunlance also needed Gore Magara Antennae, and it was kinda weird because according to the online guide site it said that it could only be gotten as a drop by breaking the antennae, and I got it as a quest reward... Oh well, I'm not complaining.

It looks super-cool~ The entire Gore Magara armor set looks awesome, but... I'm pretty sick of farming tails and antennae now. Maybe I'll build the set later.

(Also I ended up doing it with my original gunlance rather than the slash axe, so I feel kinda silly for farming up that entire slash axe set... Oh well.)

It's a 3DS RPG, I myself didn't actually hear about it until the day before it came out. Reading the promotional material it seemed like it had some really neat ideas, and the graphics and music seemed really awesome from the trailers, but looking at the reviews it seems it didn't quite pan out...

I think I'm getting better at climbing Babel's 1st Stage in Catherine. My first record was 60 Steps before I screwed up. Then I went up to 80 Steps and then up to 100+ Steps and got myself stuck in a metaphorical corner.

Checked my Pokémon Diamond cart on a whim today and found out I have an event Celebi I never claimed, and now that I know how to RNG, I can make it be not junk.

Unfortunately, I'd need to finish the game before I can properly RNG it, and at some point I must have traded my starter away, so now I'm stuck at the beginning of one of the slowest (if not the slowest) Pokémon games ever with a level 2 Bidoof and a level 17 Spearow that won't listen to me.

Pity me.

Is it just me, or does that title sound redundant? Don't the words "legend" and "legacy" mean essentially the same thing?

So I'm playing Persona Q and I get a mission to kill an FOE, "Old Doll" it's called.

I know the one pretty well, it chases you halfway through one of the floors which prevented me from exploring a good quarter of the map.

So I'm like "Sure yeah, I'll rumble". It's a reasonably tough battle but it's got plenty of weaknesses which allow me Free-casts of my spells so I can hang tough pretty well.

However she gets tougher the further I get in. Below 50% and she starts going first and spamming big massive aoe attacks. I'm hurting but she's taking damage too. Hits 25% and the Old Doll full heals.

I snap and quit the fight. Get right out of there. It seems crazy, I've got no idea what I'm meant to do to deal with that. Dealing 25% of health in one turn on a boss is crazy unreasonable. I consult the internet. Come back with aggressive levels of cheapness I never would have thought of.

Apparently the boss isn't immune to instant kills? Who knew? It's the standard for bosses normally. Round 2 and she's dead in 3 turns.

I'm thinking about buying Persona Q after seeing a big part of Persona 4 golden. Is it necessary to have more knowledge about the previous games or is that game a good stand-alone title?

Nnnngh...it's not NECESSARY...but you'd miss out on a lot of in-jokes and references. Plain and simple it's a fanservice game, doing what shouldn't ordinarily be possible because crossover games do that. P3 and P4 are in the same universe but they bend time around so that both parties exist at the same time (when there's several years between em in actuality). The gameplay is solid and fun, similar to the Etrian Odyssey games and the plot doesn't appear to be tied to any of the main plots of P3 or P4. The interactions are still fun enough and the little skits you get between the characters still have the good Persona-brand comedy to them and some genuinely quite serious moments.

However it does sometimes rely on bits and bobs you need to know from the other games for some references.

Spoiler: Persona 3 Spoiler about Ken and Shinjiro
For example in this game, there's an ongoing subplot where Ken and Kanji bond, Ken is struggling with the death of his mum and the fact that he's working with someone who he perceives to be the killer. It's never flat out said who the killer is or what explicitly happened back then. That's all revealed in Persona 3. So you have these nice scenes of Kanji chilling with Ken encouraging him to talk about things and get it off his chest but I can see how someone would be left out of the loop wondering what really happened back then.

But hey I guess that's a flipside to crossover games, even if you don't know about what's going on they can make you interested in playing the original games to find out. I certainly think better of the Etrian Odyssey Format (where the gameplay is based on) as a result of playing it.

Here are in-jokes for Persona 3... ... ...wait, I can't think of any that were really worth things that might end up as jokes. Well, maybe... Akihiko and his obsession with training. Mitsuru not getting how "plebs" function in society. And the Ken/Shinjiro plot... it's basically Hope and Snow from Final Fantasy XIII, only it really was 100% Shinji's fault.

Even then I feel in Persona Q the characters are almost caricatures of their original selves. I don't remember Chie going on about meat THAT much, nor Akihiko obsessing over protein and training all the time.

Also eh...not 100% Shinji's fault. Though he just said he was going to look into Persona 3, perhaps we shouldn't go around practically stating spoilers? :ron:

It's not hidden. And, really, of course they are caricatures of themselves. Persona Q is basically the videogame of terrible crossover fanfiction. Linkara says it himself pretty well in History Of Power Rangers: the problem with crossovers is that you need to give a decent amount of time to both franchises/seasons crossing over, not make them seem shallow than what they originally were or make one look better than the other. Which is extremely difficult to do in majoriy of crossovers. (Best PR crossover was To The Tenth Power with all the Red Rangers and worst was Once A Ranger where the new rangers were just... painfully bad)

I say XIII first because in P3 it fully was Shinji's fault. (Also, much as I hate Snow, I think he's a better character than Shinjiro... heck they LOOK similar, too!)

Pfft Shinji wasn't in full control at the time so it's hardly 100% his fault. Implies he meant it and was in a lucid state of mind at the time.

Spoiler: Danganronpa Spoiler
I again read someone thought Chihiro was a transsexual... WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? ARE THEY SO DUMB THEY DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CROSSDRESSER AND TRANSSEXUAL!? AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!! I get it! It's the English translation? Isn't it? ISN'T IT?! That's the only fucking explanation I can think of why anyone would be DUMB to think Chihiro is transsexual!

I want to cry out of anger and pity...

I don't remember anything in the English translation suggesting that, either.

This is the real reason people think that.

Welcome to the Internet, where clearly contradictory headcanons are official and if you don't agree, you're a plague on humanity.

I'd rather keep my world view that I am one of the few people still capable of using logic and the rest are... well, not.

Even then I feel in Persona Q the characters are almost caricatures of their original selves. I don't remember Chie going on about meat THAT much, nor Akihiko obsessing over protein and training all the time.

It's called flanderization, where you take a minor aspect of a character and hugely exaggerate it so it consumes their entire personality. I hate it when it happens, as it's rarely a good thing.

The only games that actually made me enjoy stealth sections are the Sly Cooper games. I don't know what it is about them, but they make stealth segments actually fun! This is coming from someone who can't stand Metal Gear Solid, by the way, I have no idea how that series got so popular, the gameplay is boring and unsatisfying, and 90% of the time "Playing" each game is spent watching cutscenes! I can't watch any cutscene longer than 5 minutes without getting bored. When I have stealth in a game, I want it to be the kind of stealth where you sneak up on an enemy from behind, then instantly kill them before they notice you, like the Spy in TF2. That makes it satisfying! Out of the 4 Metal Gear games I played, those being the original Metal Gear, the original Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Metal Gear Rising, the only one I actually enjoyed was Metal Gear Rising, as it had more of an emphasis on action. I'm incredibly impatient, and I hate having to take things slow, I'm more of a Leroy Jenkins type of player that prefers to rush right in and tear $#!% up.

Signed on to LoL a couple minutes ago. Oh hey, new notice. DJ Sona? Geez, I like Sona just fine, but doesn't she have enough skins already, Riot? It's not like you need any more if you have Arcade anyway.

Whatever, let's see what it looks...li........ksajfkldfjhnkilwrjeifojdlkjsnkljhfiaowefjhioj

Particles are nice, but the model is hideous and the songs are boring. Stickin' with Silent Night Sona, and waiting for the next legendary skin (which hopefully doesn't get delayed for months like this one).

What's your LoL name, btw? I'm Bad Player, add me or something~

Two things I noticed. Runescape has been upgraded. and PokeMMO now has Hoenn region but sadly your Starter there may or may not obey you. o.o
