I started it yesterday and it's nothing like I thought it would be. It's alright but it's very different from past Mario RPG installments. In fact, to call it an RPG is a bit of an understatement. It should be labeled an...RPP: Role-Playing Platformer.

After Chapter 3, I've come to the conclusion that it's a great game. Still, I do miss the raw RPG aspect of it. I could care less about the platforming aspect, to be honest.

I. Just. Can't. Do. It! My hands won't stay steady enough to handle the motions caused by the Wii Remote. And I can't find the right sensitivity. Also, everything is too realistic. I can never tell what's real, what's not, where I'm supposed to go, what I'm supposed to shoot, and the lighting is so dark indoors that I can't see a single Kraut.
I thought Call of Duty 2 was realistic enough. This game takes that realistic touch and multiplies it by a hundred fold. If this game is capable of doing that, I shudder to think what Call of Duty 4 might be like. Perhaps I'm not cut-out for WWII games or FPS after all...
P.S. That on-screen compass doesn't help either. If guns are going off left and right all around me how am I supposed to find the time to check where my next objective is without expecting Jerry to shoot my head off?! It's beyond insane!

I got it for my birthday. I thought it would be like the lackluster GC version - I was so very wrong. I've only just started the game and I'm already hooked. The cute, simple anime design isn't overly complex or simplistic, yet adds an inviting touch that the GameCube Custom Robo could hardly hope to contend with.
Oh! And, it doesn't try to pass off a tutorial as a "story line".
