Halfway through pouring through books he heard Trace say something to him. What he said didn't especially make sense though. Closing the book he had in his hand he gave Trace a shrewd look.

But Trace...Jumpy didn't come through with us...and Neptune is on the Fireplace.

Examining him closer for signs of illness, Lucky raised an eyebrow.

You sure you're feeling ok partner?

One blink later and Lucky realised Trace was not even in the same room as them either. The others gave Lucky a curious look. Had he really been talking aloud there? He could have sworn he'd heard Trace a moment ago...

Uh sorry...I was...just thinking aloud.

He murmured apologetically, dipping his hat to hide his embarrassment before returning to his book.

SEARCH BEACH CHAIRS (AND TOWEL RACK IF THERE IS NO RULE AGAINST BOTH)

As Lucky read on he realised the book's writing didn't actually say anything. It was all just incomprehensible gibberish and symbols. His head began to hurt. Reaching up to rub his forehead the world spun around him.

Lucky fell. Falling backwards...deeper....further into oblivion....

And then it stopped.

Opening his eyes Lucky found himself situated in a rather comfortable folding chair beside a luxury indoor pool.

Vegas? What? I've not been here in years...

Looking around he spotted his companions searching the room and it brought him back to reality.

No I'm not out...or dreaming...I...I'd best put my poker face on.

Getting out of the chair and dusting himself off Lucky began to search the room ensuring he kept a stern expression on his face.

(This was so messy XD Perhaps we need a better format next time? Or being less Derpy.)

Wait, what's happening now?

Last game, we'd start the AB Game at this point. Are we staying in these rooms for another 24 hours?

What the heck is going on here!?

Trace's outburst startled even him. First he thought he was in one room and discovered he was actually in another, then people started appearing and disappearing. Could this be... quantum superposition?

I mean sure, he was able to 'imagine' other universes but this was the first time he felt like he was 'experiencing' shifts between universes.

OKAY OKAY, let me get this straight.
Here's who went through Door [3]:
Doctor Nanjo - [6]
Pierre - "Lucky" - [7]
JM - "Neptune" - [8]
Cesar - [9]

That means the rest of us went through Door [6].
Jumpfight - [1]
Mr. Giggles - [2]
Slezak - "Trace" - [3]
Cold52 - [4]
Geno - "Ami" - [5]

I think I've solidified the reality in which we all are right now.

Yes, JM. I agree that's what we were all thinking. We all assumed Option C was the winner even when Franzise's post clearly stated otherwise. We definitely need more apparent clarification on who ended up going through which door.

Trace said this without even thinking. Neptune was of course nowhere around Trace. However, something was definitely off about this world, so much so that Trace felt like his words could reach everyone, even when he knew they shouldn't be able to.

Look at it this way. Stupidity produces unintentional comedy. Unintentional comedy is the best kind.

So, at least this thread now has something "unique" about it due to our complete lack of observational skills.

I mean I almost facedesked so hard when I found out some of us had screwed up, which is appropriate because I'm searching a desk.

If this is the case, can we just make some rule where the phase moves along after everybody's submitted an action?

Hey, before we start moving too fast, the next round could quite possibly the AB game.

I just want to say here in the thread that my team, Ami, Cold, and I, as of right now, barring any crazy changes and rifts going down between now and then, intend to vote Betray - keeping us at 3 points.

My question is how do the other teams intend to vote?

Hey, I can tell you in a 99.5% confidence interval that the next round will be the AB round.

Also, we've all entered our actions (except Ami, who appears to be inactive at the moment.) Ami's the only reason I'd keep the phase going for the full 24 hours. Otherwise, we're just passing the time.

Trace continued poring over the large desk, searching for anything which might be useful. He then had a sudden thought and stood up.

Hey, I just realized this branch of the tree led to a leaf. In layman's terms, there was only one door leading into this room and no doors leading out, meaning we have to go out the way we came in. So the question is, "Where do we even go after this?"

Trace thought he had some inkling of an idea, like the walls might shift or some other strange thing might happen. He was both anxious and excited to find out. For now, it was back to the desk.

Lucky glanced around the room once more, spying the intercom Trace was speaking through. Wandering over he picked up the transceiver before re-checking the room himself.

Looks much the same in here, one way out. If I had to gamble I'd say we'd be heading back down those elevators once more. Figured Miss Screen wouldn't want to keep people who didn't get in a room to sit out the entire round. This would be a way around that problem.

Leaning back against the wall he idly looked over at the beach chairs he was examining previous, trying to spot anything new he might have missed from a wider perspective. Turning to look at Cesar he said

By the way since you asked so kindly I plan on allying come showdown time. There's got to be a little trust at least in this group somewhere, don't really see us getting anywhere if we just scowl at people behind our cards all day without good reason.

Popping the transceiver back on the wall, Lucky returned to his search.

(Full disclosure I might be inactive or at least significantly less active for a spell while I'm at work. I'll try and make do with my phone.)

Day 1, Phase 4!

Image Okay, you've all had enough time to snoop around, head on back to the elevators, guys!

Image Because now it's time for the AB Game! Yaaaaaaaay!!

You all have one day to place your votes! See you later!

Image Fine, fine, I'll explain it.

Remember the teams you made to get in the elevators earlier? Well, those teams are going to be playing against each other now for those coveted points you need to get to me! Pairs versus solo! Each "side" gets one vote, and those votes will determine who gains or loses points!

If both sides choose to ally, both sides gain two points.
If one side chooses to ally and another betrays, the allying side loses two points and the betrayer gains three.
If both sides betray, nobody gets anything!
If nobody on a side votes, that side automatically allies.

To vote, just PM me with your decision. Don't say your vote in the thread; you don't want other people to see what it is, dummy! If you're in a pair, only the first vote sent in will count, and once you've voted, you can't change it, so be sure you chose what you really wanted!

Oh, and this isn't too important this time since everyone went in a room, but only players who entered the most recent numbered doors get to vote! Keep this in mind when you form teams for the numbered doors in the future.

Oh, and this is really, really important! If at least one person on each "team" of three doesn't vote in the AB Game, everyone on that team is punished!

Oh, oh, and by the way, I've had a change of heart. Those of you who I said couldn't use your QuickTopics this phase? Go ahead and use them as usual~

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, and this has no impact on gameplay at all, but I just felt like mentioning that the voting booths are in those six doors under my screen in the first room you all met up in. I just like bringing up pointless little details like that.

Image Choose carefully! See you!

(btw I did see the comments about wanting to end phases early but that's not really going to be an option for me, at least not at this point in time; I do phase changes on my computer and the times when I'm sure I'll have access to it are limited so if phase change times start shifting around it'll put a lot of extra stress on me to be sure I can make it on time and I don't want to have to tell you guys it'll be delayed unless absolutely necessary either)

Nooo and here's an example as to why:

Say you found something right after phase change and decided to let others know
Someone else gets on later and sees you already searched
That's one less person they'd need to bother watching

Also, like I said (okay, I guess I didn't flat-out say it but I implied it), all my game data is on my computer and there's a lot of times I can't get on it. I know it might seem like I'm on a lot but I'm working six days a week and usually out doing other things after that so unless it's early in the morning, late at night, or Sunday, I'm probably just monitoring the game from my phone like I'm doing right now. (Phase changes happen immediately before I have to leave my house, fyi)

In addition, I'd really prefer to stick to 24-hour phases to allow everyone in different time zones at least the chance to participate as equally as possible.

I know the game is going a little slow at the moment for some of you, but I'd rather have it go slow than have to worry about making more than one phase change a day and possibly locking other players out because they couldn't get on in time. If EVERYONE agrees, I could TRY to shorten some of the phases, but I can't promise anything and I'm anticipating things will start picking up a bit after the first vote anyway.

I'm personally fine with keeping 24-hour phases. I mean, this game's phases are going at an above average pace for games like these.

Trace stepped back from the desk with a disappointed, but optimistic look. His searching of the desk turned up nothing useful. After listening to the message from the speakers, he resigned himself to returning to the main room. Nothing would be gained from dawdling further, so Trace set his course straight back for the AB rooms.

On the way back, he began contemplating what he would vote and decided almost instantly. There was no question how he wanted to vote. He finally made it back to the main room.

The announcement went out just as they finished searching the room. A few small puzzles and the door clicked open. No sweat. Looks like it was time for the showdown.

A little while later they found themselves gathered outside the AB rooms they started near.

He looked over at Trace. Time to put it all on the line. Glancing back at Cesar, he nodded before stepping into the chamber.
