Trace returned his own look of 'I trust you, man. Don't let me down,' before approaching his own chamber.

He tapped the start button with a gentle hand before turning around to watch the door close and lock behind him. This was it. Make-or-break time. He saw his two options in front of him. His hand creeped forward and...

...

With an oddly-cheerful chime, his choice was made.

JesusMonroe & MrGiggles - Ally
jumpfight - Ally

Pierre & Cesar - Ally
Slezak - Ally

Ami & Cold52 - Betray
Doctor Nanjo -

Betray

Image Did you like the dramatic pause? That was a thing they did when the results came up, right?

Okay, that brings Day 1 to a close.

Day 2, Phase 1 begins!

Your color and pairing assignments have updated along with your points!

Pierre and Jumpfight go with MrGiggles in the magenta elevator
Ami and JesusMonroe go with Cesar in the cyan elevator

Option C:
Slezak and Cold go with MrGiggles in the cyan elevator
Pierre and Jumpfight go with Cesar in the yellow elevator
Ami and JesusMonroe go with Doctor Nanjo in the magenta elevator

Trace was joyed with the results. Nobody had betrayed a cooperator so nobody was on the brink of death. This is the second-best thing that could have happened.

Lucky, Cesar...

Trace bowed as he felt his eyes become a bit misty.

Thank you so much for showing my trust wasn't unfounded. Now, with just two more of this type of round, we can all get-

Trace looked down on instinct to see his color and pair/solo assignment had indeed changed. He looked around and noticed everybody's bracelets were different.

Oh right, the color shuffling thing...

Trace was distraught that he couldn't remain with the team with whom he was most comfortable. At the same time, he was hopeful that this meant he could help even more people reach the coveted nine points.

Well, Option A would keep me with Cesar and Option C would keep Lucky with Cesar. If you wish to totally disband, go with Option B. For the other group that allied, Options A or B would keep someone with a member of that team, while Option C would disband it completely. If the team that betrayed wants to get as far away from each other as possible, Option A is their best bet. However, perhaps splitting off the betrayers might not be the best idea.

I'll wait for others' opinions before making my own decision.

Lucky grinned wide as the results flashed up on the board.

Glancing over at Trace he gave him a thumbs up
.

Safest bet you ever made. Though you forgetting one thing there. We ain't all getting out of here. Least Zero ain't if I can help it.

Crossing his arms a stern expression crossed his face. It was a grim reality but something that they would need to confront sooner than later.

Make no mistake, there's a joker in the pack somewhere. Now that we're more comfortable with the rules of the game I think its high time for some investigative work. Agreed?

He glanced around the room at his fellow players looking for confirmation.

Trace gave a look of understanding. It seems his meaning was not entirely clear.

I understand there's a joker in our midst. In fact, they might even have a pair. What I meant when I was about to say "we can all get out" was you, Cesar, and me. That's when I remembered that our color groups change every round.

I also understand that we aren't nearly out of the woods yet.

Trace was right. With nobody betraying an ally, everybody was still at least four points away from the exit. That meant there were to be at least two more AB rounds. Probably more if people still don't trust each other.

I'm fine with Option A or B

Actually, I wouldn't mind Option C either

Trace turned an inquisitive glance towards MrGiggles.

MrGiggles, as much as I admire your wanting to join Cold and me so strongly, I'm really curious. Why would going with Ami/Neptune or Lucky/Jumpfight be "really, really bad" for you?

Lucky sighed, it seemed everyone was focused on the next big match when there was a more pressing question on his mind.

Well inevitable showdowns aside. We ain't even talked about what tricks we all uncovered in those weird rooms back there.

Lucky spread his hands and sighed with disappointment.

Sad to say ol'Lucky ain't living up to his name. I couldn't suss nothing out of this place. Other than we've got a pretty sweet pool we can go relax in once this game is up. He said trying to keep it light hearted

The old doctor sighs as the results are read. His sense of wonderment with the mysteries of this game, which had burned brightly in his eyes when he had first awoken here, seems to have died down to a pathetic flicker.

Well I can't say I'm surprised. It's just unfortunate we had to vote this way, Cold. I told you we could have allied, but I should have said we should have.

Ah, but don't worry. It's only two points gone, really.

He looks down at his watch, now a green solo, shakes his head, and shrugs.

Looks like I'm alone, again, this round. Time to choose a team, I suppose. I need, just, a little time to think.

When Lucky brings up the items, Nanjo shakes his head absently.

Nothing here. Seems JM was the only one to find anything from the pool.

Well, just in case the code is disadvantageous if it falls into the wrong hands, I'd rather not say. Consider it a gift that I told you guys about the code as well, because I want to keep some semblance of cooperation

I already gave the code to someone I trust, though. Just in case I die and the code is lost forever

Lucky's eyes narrowed as he tried to suss out what Neptune was playing at..

No point keeping cards close to the chest in a team game. What's this code you found?

He idly reached up and scratched his chin.

And uh...one more thing...why did you ally? You in particular I remember were fond of an all betray plan Neptune?

Sorry, but I won't. It's hardly keeping that close to the chest, too. I could've told you guys that I found nothing

I was fond of the all-betray plan, but Ami was clearly against it. "All-betray" only works if everybody agrees to betray but Ami decided to go against the grain, I guess. I wasn't even sticking with the all-betray plan by the end. I did change my mind and tell all of you to listen to Ami, didn't I? The plan was to vote based on who you were voting against and to not try to get everyone to vote one way

Yeah, the all-betray plan only really has a point if everyone does it. Voting betray-betray only slows down the game if everyone does it. The highest number is what determines when this game could end after all.

I didn't catch that fact, though, last round.

I assumed, as Lucky did, and Cold probably did, that JM was still insistent about voting betray right up until the final hour or so (ooc like a day and a half) of the round.

And now here we are.

JM keeping the code to himself is exactly what I would expect. If whoever found the room 6 item, (if there was one, it's likely Cold got it) to himself, I wouldn't be indignant.

Trace sighed audibly as he held out his empty hands.

No dice searching the desk in the study. I overturned every speck of dust but there wasn't even a hint of an item.

Also, I'm ready to choose a group. I don't feel nearly as strong as MrGiggles does about this, but...

Trace quickly procured a slip of paper, scribbled his vote, and flicked it into the pile.

Vote: Option C

Oh, plenty.

Focus on matching Joy and Passion tokens first
Always take at least one Date Gift that can change Broken Hearts to something else, they can be a lifesaver
Lola and (to a lesser extent) Beli seem to spend a lot of time out of town, so prioritize spending time with them if you don't want to spend a bunch of extra days trying to max everyone out
Buy a bag of goldfish when you get a chance and discard it on the beach
When you get the Weird Thing, try to give it to a girl on the beach at night

On an actual more serious note, I want to put a warning out now that there's at least one person who's getting dangerously close to what I would consider violating MAMA terms, in particular, the segment about "using meta-game methods for collecting and disseminating information."

Again, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Lucky nodded, his face softening. Neptune made a fair enough point, could be ne'er-do-wells who would kill for that code. He'd also admittedly forgot that Neptune had folded on his 'all-betray' plan before the phase. Not that he'd ever admit that aloud

Fair game, right best ready the deck for a new round of betting I suppose.

He stretched briefly before moving over towards the wall with the elevators

I vote Option A

Image Boy, it's gotten quiet in here lately, you'd think someone died...

Day 2, Phase 2 begins

Option C passes by a... something to one margin. Five or six? It was a good number.

Trace, Cold, and MrGiggles climb into the cyan elevator. Lucky, Jumpfight, and Cesar likewise board theirs and Ami, JM, and Doc Nanjo enter theirs. After several moments, all nine players are deposited into hallway similar to the previous one. To the left and around the corner was a door with a 2 on it. To the right, a door with a 7. At the end of a path directly in front of the elevators, though, was a door bearing the number 9.

Me, Ami, and Pierre stay behind. Everybody else goes through Doors [7] and [9]. Jumpfight votes for Pierre

Lucky glanced over at Neptune and the vacant silent woman beside him.
Now hold on now why should anyone be left out of the fun? S'far as I know there's no rule against coming back. We could try and take everyone through two doors and hit up those other ones later on surely?

No one gets left out in the cold come the showdown that way.

No, Pierre. We can go through all three doors if we wanted to (Consider this Option 0, I guess)

Door 2:
Jumpfight
Giggles
Jesus

Door 7:
Slezak
Cold
Cesar

Door 9:
Ami
Nanjo
Pierre

But that's not what I'm proposing. I'm proposing one of these:

Option A:

Door 7:
Jumpfight
Nanjo
Cesar

Door 9:
Giggles
Slezak
Cold

Jesus, Ami, and Pierre stay behind. We DO NOT enter Door 2. After the AB Game, Door 2 can be free to explore. If you guys don't trust me, I don't care if I'm left out of that team. Ami and Pierre can still explore Door 2 if they like after the AB Game

Option B:

Door 2:
Cold
Pierre
Cesar

Door 9:
Jumpfight
Giggles
Nanjo

Jesus, Ami, and Slezak stay behind. We do not enter Door 7. After the AB Game, Door 7 can be free to explore. If you guys don't trust me, I can be left out of that team. Ami and Slezak can explore Door 7 after if they want to

In both Option A and B, the teams can be mixed around. The important thing are the people who get left behind
