No one gets left out in the cold come the showdown that way.

Wait wait wait!
:holdit:

Trace slammed his foot down. The thought of even leaving anyone behind was antithetical to the goal of getting everyone out. Did Neptune have some sort of plan? What could it be? Trace had his ideas about what was going on, but wasn't willing to share them just yet. He decided to jump in and spice things up a bit.

Okay Neptune, that was really random. Why the heck should anyone stay behind at this point? How about this proposal?

Trace Proposal
Jumpfight [1], Ami [5], Nanjo [6], and Neptune [8] go through Door [2].

The rest of us: Giggles [2], me [3], Cold [4], Pierre [7], and Cesar [9], 2 + 3 + 4 + 7 + 9 = 25 -> 2 + 5 = [7]
...go through Door [7].

That way, the exalted Door [9] goes unsearched. Granted Door [9] doesn't seem to have a special purpose in this game like it did in the last one. We can leave it for later.

Personally, I like the Trace proposal best. I'm not keen on letting anyone stay behind, both for their protection and those who would go through.

Why leave a door unsearched when everyone can go through, though?

The only reason I'm volunteering to stay behind is to make things easier for Ami and I in the next AB Game. My opponent has a good incentive to betray

Pierre staying behind shouldn't matter if he trusts jumpfight

Slezak staying behind shouldn't matter if he trusts Cold

Edit: I mean, just cause we're not all going through the numbered doors doesn't mean we're not contributing to the goal of escaping. I think a point increase in the AB Game contributes to everyone escaping, which is why I suggest my option

So, you're using yours and Ami's staying behind as a bargaining chip to make sure Doctor Nanjo picks Ally or looks damn suspicious for picking Betray against people not able to vote?

Trace slumped down to the ground. He had made up his mind.

Okay you know what? I'm going to volunteer to stay behind. That way if anything DOES happen to me, you all know who to be suspicious of. Good luck in those rooms, teammates.

Vote: JM Option B...

I don't really like this at all, but I'll do it. Thus, I will still leave my proposal on the table.

I consent to testing the combination involving my number.

As for what proposal to vote,I'm not really sure if JM has any reason to want him and Ami being unavle to vote for this phase,so for now I think that Slezak/Trace's proposal might be the best.

Lucky shrugged there was too much on his mind right now for complex thinking. They hadn't yet sussed out who Zero was and there was still the mystery of the code Neptune had.

I'm gonna stick with my original plan. As glamorous as you think this number nine door is I propose we search them all. Wouldn't want to play with an incomplete deck after all.

However...he gave an uncertain glance to the vacant woman who had said nothing so far.

Nah it doesn't matter much I suppose.

I vote OPTION 0

So, like... really? Really, guys? First you want a way to kill each other. I give you that option, and nobody even tries it. Then you want to speed things along, so I give you a perfect set of doors to ensure three can be checked at once and nobody has to be left outside. Now you want to sit out because you assume I'll take you back here after the AB Game, wait for you to pick a team to search the room, wait around while the majority of you have to sit in the hall while the rest of you take the time to search the room you could have easily searched on the first go

Image What the fuck is it going to take to satisfy you people. Or are you the types that just love to bitch.

Image No return trips!

Once you guys pick a set of rooms to search, that's it, we're moving on after that! We have places to do and things to be! If we run out of rooms to explore and you're all reeeeeeeeeally good and don't bug me for McDonald's or anything... maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe we can come back later. Maybe.

Image So sure, pass up one of the doors if you want. I mean, it is you guys' choice to make.

Just don't come crying to me if it, you know, blows up in your faces.

Lucky grinned and flipped his coin.

Come now, "Woman" you ain't picked these doors for our benefit alone. Every set of doors have had a digital root of 9. The next ones will be a batch of 4 I reckon, 8 5 4 1 most like. We won't all be able to go through them all for sure so we'd best get as many clues as we can here because we might not get a chance later.

Trace did recall that it was strange that we took the same elevators to a different floor to go to these rooms. Apparently the elevators are computer-controlled to go wherever our host pleases.

He stood up, filled with a renewed confidence.

Fine. If we can't come back for the doors, as I probably should have surmised, then how about we run through some options then?

Our doors are [2], [7], and [9], right?

Here are some options:
Proposal Trace-1a
Jumpfight [1], Trace [3], and Lucky [7] go through Door [2], 1 + 3 + 7 = 11 -> 1 + 1 = 2
MrGiggles [2], Ami [5], and Cesar [9] go through Door [7], 2 + 5 + 9 = 16 -> 1 + 6 = 7
Cold [4], Nanjo [6], and Neptune [8] go through Door [9], 4 + 6 + 8 = 18 -> 1 + 8 = 9

Proposal Trace-1b
Door [2] is the same as 1a.
MrGiggles [2] will still be on Door [7], but with Nanjo [6] and Neptune [8] instead.
Cold [4] will still be on Door [9], but with Ami [5] and Cesar [9] instead.

Proposal Trace-2
This one would keep my AB team together.
MrGiggles [2], Trace [3], and Cold [4] head through Door [9].
Ami [5], Lucky [7], and Neptune [8] head through Door [2].
Jumpfight [1], Nanjo [6], and Cesar [9] head through Door [7].

Unfortunately, there are no proposals which keep either of the other two teams together.
Jumpfight [1] + Lucky [7] + Cesar [9] = 17 -> 1 + 7 = 8. Door [8] is not here.
Ami [5] + Nanjo [6] + Neptune [8] = 19 -> 1 + 9 = 10 -> 1 + 0 = 1. Door [1] is not here either.

Of course, there is a lot of proposals which would allow everyone to go through the doors and have all rooms be searched. A cursory study of the numbers says there are about 20-25 of them. I cordially welcome any counter-proposals.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.

There's no perceived benefit on whether or not a "team" goes through a door or not

I'll copy and paste Option 0 from the previous page

Door 2:
Jumpfight
Giggles
Jesus

Door 7:
Slezak
Cold
Cesar

Door 9:
Ami
Nanjo
Pierre

I do have another proposal, though. We'll call it...Option Q? Sure

Door 2:
Giggles
Cold
Ami

Door 7:
Slezak
Nanjo
Pierre

Door 9:
Jumpfight
Jesus
Cesar

This is just cause I want to go through Door [9]. Not much reason except that 9 is THE number so...yeah

Something to keep in mind is that Ami has been inactive for days. Let's consider that there's one item behind each door. Without Ami, it's possible we'll miss the item. We simply can't search all the locations

Vote: Option Q

But I'll change to Option 0 if that's what everyone else wants

Yeah, I think it should be obvious that, even though they can fall into the wrong hands, more items is definitely the way to go. Since there are so many functionally similar options at this point, I'll go with securing my AB teammate, JM, passage through Door [9]. I don't think his choice of door is very suspicious, considering he nearly threw out his chance to choose this round.

Vote: Option Q

That being said this door choice is extremely arbitrary, and if anyone legitimately wants to go with a particular person or into a particular room, they should bring it up.

hahahaha nobody really cares about what doors they want to go through, this option lets me go through the 9 door too, which is pretty nice too. I can't really complain about any of the options though.

Lucky shrugged. He bad quite looked forward to going through the 9 door but figured they were assigning too much importance to it.

Well no matter where we go I doubt we are getting much use out of her. Its why I didn't suggest a change earlier. No matter what we do we'll be sacrificing some investigative power.

Number 9 just looks like a regular old door to me but if you really want that set up it don't matter to me.

Either way we are missing out somewhere. Geno wont be capable of searching anything. No matter where we send her. There will be a spot missed out.

If we assume its a normal door the only difference is Neptune has just convinced people to let him go through instead of other people.

It doesn't nullify the fact Geno won't search a place.

There might not even be 3 search locations in here.

This is your captain speaking, we apologize for the delay, had a couple technical difficulties back there but we're ready to go now. Didn't lose anyone there, did we?

Day 2, Phase 3! Start!

Ami, Cold, and MrGiggles enter Door 2. The room beyond is another "pool room" of sorts; a billiards table sits in the middle, illuminated by a hanging light. A large cabinet stands against the far wall, probably used for storing cues and extra balls and other such things.

Doctor Nanjo, Slezak, and Lucky find a mini-arcade behind Door 7. Sadly, besides the pinball machine and ski-ball machine, the games seem to be broken.

And beyond the fabled Number 9 Door, Neptune, Cesar, and Jumpfight find a public stall an indoor hydroponics garden. A watering system seems to mist the plants on a timer, and while there are several types, the tomato vines and miniature apple trees stand out the most.

Lucky grinned widely as he saw the room he'd been given.

Looks like we lucked out, some of these old things must be worth some real money by now. This stuff up your kinda game Trace?

Drifting his eyes across the machines it seemed that most of them had cashed their last quarter.

Crying shame though least if we get stuck here we can spend time renovating these things.

Lucky scratched his head thinking about the room when a small electronic chime echoed from a machine in the corner.

Before Trace realized it, he was in an arcade. Electronics were his kind of thing but for some reason he had started daydreaming about something else and nearly missed his chance to search.

He threw his gaze around the room with haste and spotted Lucky at the pinball table. He did see one other useful-looking area, the Ski-ball Machine. Trace decided to search there.

I'll be game, Lucky, when we're not under the time crunch of searching our rooms. Also, there are plenty of out-of-order machines here, but where are we going to find a soldering iron at this hour? Also our intrepid host probably dismantled the machines and scrapped the electronics on purpose. Anyway, I'll be over here if you need me.

Trace hurried over and began looking around the ski-ball machines.

Nanjo, who had been wandering around the arcade for a while, searching all around every broken machine, stops and sighs.

There's absolutely nothing of interest in here.

Honestly, two rooms in a row I can't find anything!

Nanjo looks around for a place to sit and rest.

Well, good luck you two. I'll just, uh, wait around a little before we start on this awful puzzle. I could use a break.

Image DAY 2 PHASE 4!

AB GAME TIME GUYS YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO I'M SO EXCITED HNNNGGGHHH

Hey, know what? I feel like there's been something missing from this game, and I think I realize now what it was...

Image Weird but true kinda-sciencey stuff!

Image So have you heard of the Double Slit Experiment? I don't remember all the details, but it went something like this:

A bunch of scientists decided to shoot light through a couple slits on a piece of metal or whatever and see what kind of pattern it would make on the wall. You'd think it would just make two slit-shaped spots, right? That's what they thought, anyway. Well, it didn't! So those guys tried the experiment again, this time recording the whole operation, and you know what?

Image The pattern changed! It was just the two slits they expected in the first place!

They tried it a few more times, both with and without the recording equipment, and it kept changing depending on whether the equipment was on! Turns out light behaves differently depending on whether it's observed or not! Weird, huh?

Image ...Well, I guess it's not that weird. I mean, people are like that, too.

Image Okay, that's enough totally unrelated stuff, hurry up and get your butts to the voting booths!

Oh, and you can still use your QuickTopics, in case you were wondering. See you!

Neptune pondered the Double Slit experiment. His mind was reeling. What could it mean? His mind was going in different places now, though...

Hey speaking of thought experiments, have any of you guys ever heard of the bootstrap paradox?

Some heads nodded in familiarity. Others grimaced in confusion

Well, let's say an old woman gives you a watch. Then, you go back in time fifty years. You meet the old woman when she was a young woman and say "In fifty years, you'll meet me. Give me this watch." You then give her the watch she gave you. Straightforward, right? It's a perfect loop

But where did the watch come from? It doesn't seem to have any discernible origin, does it?

That's the heart of the bootstrap paradox. The scenario makes sense if you accept that there's a paradox. Kind of like the universe. We always say things like "that doesn't make sense" or "that's a paradox" but what if the universe is simply made up of paradoxes? Why does the universe have to have a beginning or origin? Why does that watch?

So a bootstrap paradox occurs when there's no discernable start, right? Sort of like... the AB project? That's really interesting.

Also, two questions for our gracious host: Do we still just PM you the votes for the ambidex game, and when do we get the PMs for the searches? Or have people already got those?
