Whoa, you weren't kidding when you said the battle was epic! I finished the game last night, and... just wow. That fight was really cool, and really down to the wire. (Thank goodness Canas is such a beast :godot:) I'm not sure if I'm going to replay Awakening in Classic right now (I think I'm probably going to play through the rest of Eternal Sonata next), but I know that once Fire Emblem Fates comes out, I'm definitely gonna play it in Classic.

Permadeath is the way to go dude. That way every move the enemy makes is something to be nervous about, you have to consider the options of all your units all of the time and when the shiz hits the fan (like the final boss) it makes you feel the dread that one wrong move obliterates an unit per turn.

Did you also play the hector campaign? It's got a few unique missions and more overall so you have more time to build your ideal team. Plus the story from another point of view ( disguises stay dumb though)

At that point in the game, barring earlier casualties, they are traveling in a group of at least thirty-three people, seven horses, two pegasi, and a wyvern. They'd have been better off passing themselves off as mercenaries.

In other news, I'm playing through Crusader Kings II. Is it my imagination, or have epidemics become more frequent in the latest expansion? It seems some sort of nasty illness sweeps through my capital every few years.

Just finished Playing Megaman Battle Network 1 on the WiiU virtual Console.
...Well that was a thing that happened. Seriously all i did was mashed the B button to death with occasional battlechips inserted, that final battle was really anticlimactic.

A while ago, I started playing Crusader Kings II as a custom Byzantine Emperor, Aaron the Wise of House Ioannidis. He ruled from 769 to 792. His achievements included the reestablishment of the Patriarchates of Antioch and Alexandria, as well as the fall of the Iconoclast movement. Oh, I also renamed my character's country the Roman Empire. Historically, they called themselves the Roman Empire, so that is what they shall be in my playthrough.

Aaron the Wise's son, Alexandros II, ruled from 792 to 840. He brought Jerusalem and Rome back under Roman control, reestablishing their respective Patriarchates. While the Schism had been in the making since 752, Bishop Clemens of Rome effectively made it formal in 798 by refusing to recognize Roman sovereignty over the Patriarchate of Rome. Thus, Clemens was officially excommunicated and his authority over the Patriarchate of Rome ceased to be recognized. In his stead, a new bishop, whose name has unfortunately been lost to history (translation: the game doesn't track the history of bishopric-level titles), was appointed Bishop of Rome--and thus one of the five Patriarchs. Clemens died of natural causes a few months after his excommunication, though his successors still lead a shrinking movement within Christianity that does not recognize the authority of the Patriarch of Rome. In 806, with the Emperor's blessing, the Schism was formally declared mended and followers of the unlanded and unrecognized successors of Bishop Clemens were declared heretics. Upon hearing the news, most European Christians recognized the Orthodox Church as the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Officially, the title of Saint is only given posthumously, but even when he was alive, Alexandros's actions earned him the nickname "Alexandros the Saint." Alexandros also expanded the Roman Empire's control over Africa, the Italian Peninsula, and the steppes north of the Crimean Peninsula. The Republic of Venice swore fealty to Alexandros without a fight. Genoa did not go as willingly, and thus was conquered. The Republic of Genoa was officially destroyed and in its stead, a feudal state was developed.

Alexandros's son, Aaron Ironside, reigned from 840 to 860 and furthered Roman control over Africa, Italy, and Taurica.

It is now 871. Rome is ruled by Emperor Belisarios the Just, Aaron's youngest son, who only ascended to the throne instead of his older brothers because he was the only Porphyrogennetos among Aaron's children. Belisarios is happily married to his wife, Antipatra, and has three sons: Petros, Methodios, and Stephanos. Antipatra is pregnant with a fourth child. A scant two years after Belisarios was crowned, the second-youngest of Aaron's children, Innokentios, gathered an army in neighboring Aghbania and attempted to seize the throne through force of arms. He was handily defeated in the Caucasus and imprisoned. Innokentios was banished for his actions and now lives out his days in the court of Guthfrith the Hunter, Earl of Durham. It is a sad fate, as only his youngest son, Matthaios, is there with him. His two other children, Ioulia and Kyrillos, are still in Constantinople, as is Innokentios's wife, Zenobia. All they need to do is ask, and Belisarios would gladly send them to Durham. Still, considering the circumstances, Belisarios was quite merciful toward his brother. A more cruel Emperor might have thrown the man in the oubliette and tried to forget about him.

Gm... Rome seems to be a popular target for raiders and adventurers. Or maybe the latest update just made those guys more common? Either way, "And stay out!" is practically my new catch phrase in Crusader Kings II.

Three unfortunate tragedies struck House Ioannidis in quick succession. Belisarios's beloved wife, Antipatra, has died from pneumonia. In addition, Petros, his firstborn son, died from tuberculosis. Finally, Innokentios, the ambitious older brother who already attacked Rome once before, proved that banishment was too merciful; he gathered another army and attacked again. In his mercy, the Emperor sentenced Innokentios to life under house arrest. All this has proven too much for Belisarios; he has grown out his beard and hair like the monks and sought answers in faith. The palace is practically a monastery now. The only silver lining in all of this is that Methodios, Belisarios's second son and current heir, appears to be a far better fit for the throne than Petros was; he's a genius.

I started Omega Ruby anew with a DexNavlocke. The pokémon I catch has to be one that I found with the DexNav.
I am asking via PSS for an Eevee to trade, someone wants to trade with me and offers a Japanese Lvl 10 Eevee and keeps cancelling.
Urgh at this point, I'll go back to X/Y and just enjoy the fact that I can get Eevee in the city of the 2nd Gym. :ron:

Ah... nuzlockes... what a good way to cry over pokemon. Seriously though, I'm doing a nuzlocke on my Sapphire version, and like 4 of my pokemon died because of critical hits. I also almost lost my starter twice because the game is really trigger happy with crits. Now I'm at Mauville City, and I'm scared to take on the gym...

The one thing I really do like about Nuzlockes though is you forced to try out some Pokemon you'd probably never consider running in a regular playthrough. It's always neat when you find some underrated gems and then devastating when they succumb to the sweet embrace of death because some random jerk happened to crit your guy, even when you had the clear advantage.

Yep! But the feeling you get when you complete a nuzlocke... well I wouldn't personally know, but I'm sure it will leave a very satisfying feeling. Personally, I find a nuzlocke difficult because I have a bad habit of rushing with underleveled pokemon. A good example is that on my last playthrough of Crystal, I beat the Elite 4 with only one pokemon above 40 and the rest at mid to high 30s. I mean, who does that?

Yeah, it's a good thing level grinding isn't against the rules in a standard Nuzlocke, but at the same time, I've even accidentally lost some good Pokemon trying to grind them to good levels for gyms. Seriously, everything is a risk.

It's basically self-imposed challenge while playing Pokémon. As the image explains...
1. Only allowed to catch the 1st Pokémon you encounter in a new route.
2. If a Pokémon faints, it needs to be released or permanently boxed as it'll count as dead.
(3. Must give every caught Pokémon a nickname, to build an emotional tie to it)

There are more rules that got added by people, so you just pick what you want, though the above three are pretty much required standard. Things like "No healing items during battle", "restrict the number of times you may use the Pokémon Center in each city" and stuff. I personally changed things to stuff like Catch the 2nd Pokémon I encounter in a route.

If you play a Randomized Pokémon game, it's much more entertaining, too, cause you WON'T end up with a team of Bidoof, Starly, Rattata, Pidgey and such...

One exceptional rule to a Nuzlocke that most players do like and abide by is that if you head to a new route and the first pokemon you meet is a pokemon you have already caught, you are allowed to bypass that and catch the next pokemon you see on that route. I usually like to use this rule myself, as it prevents duplicates and who wants a forced team full of Pidgeys. I give a self-imposed rule on top of that though and that's if by the third encounter it's still a duplicate, I just don't catch anything on the new route and move on.

The year is 904 in my Crusader Kings II playthrough. Belisarios the Just joined his wife on Christmas Eve the previous year, having gradually succumbed to a wasting illness that left him nearly helpless in the end. He reigned for forty-three years. His son, Methodios, is now Emperor. Right off the bat, things go horribly wrong. The Caliph has declared a jihad for Armenia, and many Muslim rulers are eagerly joining the campaign. In addition, what was thought to be Methodios's fourth child is actually the child of Count Pyrros of Tripoli. To think he was granted that title by Belisarios in 897, and he repays the Emperor's generosity by sleeping with said Emperor's daughter-in-law!? Needless to say, Pyrros's title was revoked--as was his capacity to sire any more bastards, if you catch my drift. One of the benefits of playing as a Greek character is that you can give skirt-chasing lechers a rather appropriate punishment.

Is it even possible to breed Pokémon such that they hatch from the egg already evolved? I know a Level 1 Froakie is possible, but Frogadier? How would that even work? Froakie doesn't evolve into Frogadier until Level 16.

Oops! I did mean a Froakie! :edgey: It's a Japanese one, so I was mostly focusing on the Japanese name.
