Essentially, the rep is replying to a question about DGS with "Unfortunately, there are no plans to release the game in the West."
Of course, this could be a PR rep guessing from their current knowledge, but it doesn't look good. And given the Capcom European Twitter accounts were quick to confirm AA6 this morning, it seems like they're at least somewhat in the AA loop.

Well, that's a shame. I still have an ounce of hope, but the last time they said there weren't plans to localize a game, they never did.

There's still some hope, though, for a change of plans or something. At least I think so, but that doesn't mean I don't have the right to throw an omnibus at AA6.

I'll admit that I don't know much about this stuff. I think if there is a DGS translation, it'll have to be ported to iOS first like Dual Destinies

Its chances still aren't great imo, but I feel like a lot of people are misunderstanding the process behind this sort of thing. Localization is a huge endeavor, it takes a lot of time, and Capcom's localization team(s) almost certainly don't have the resources to tackle two Ace Attorney games at once. Nothing that's been said today makes the prospect of a localized DGS any more grim than it was before, we just have a clearer understanding of why the possibility of a localized DGS hasn't been officially acknowledged yet.

I was under the assumption that Takumi's team and Yamazaki's team would be utilizing different localizers?
I don't blame people for thinking that it's not gonna happen considering the AAI2 bad news was almost exactly the same. I'm at least a little happy that Capcom at least said they wouldn't localize it instead of being radio silent :/

Where'd you get that assumption, if you don't mind me asking?
I would have thought they would have the same localizers, considering Janet Hsu's team were behind Dual Destinies' localization, and she was involved with DGS' production as well (for the English parts, she's in the credits).

EDIT: The newest tweet on Capcom France says there's no currently scheduled plans, but they'll get back to us at some point.
So...I guess we're back to the status quo before the twitter thing happened. Still, expect the worst, I suppose. I'm still keeping my hopes up, though!

I know. You're probably right as well. They're already looking for a reason to stop Ace Attorney in the West and that would be the perfect opportunity. But we can't just sit back and do nothing. We tried petitions and emails and twitter for GK2. They didn't listen. They won't listen now... But we need to find an explicit way to tell Capcom we're not amused. We're not at the same point we were before. This is exactly what happened with GK2. They denied a translation and then they said that they had "no plans at the current time". It's exactly the same.

This week has been great for jerking around. Nintendo decided to release the smaller New 3DS over here even though they said they wouldn't and then everything Ace Attorney related.

I don't think it requires so much extra effort to translate just because it's a 3DS game. I think the issue is ripping/emulation.

Obviously it's possible for DGS to get a iOS port, but I think it has a smaller chance than DD because there is a certain segment of the game that relies on the 3D capabilities.

I want to believe tho and I will try my best because once, we all tried and got our lovely lawyer into UMVC3 and boy, I still enjoy the game to this day.
Because winning matches is good.
but winning matches with a character who sneezes, slips on banana peels, sends over dogs and espers, screams objection and you yourself has contributed to have him as an available character in the game is priceless.
I know we can try it again so keep on requesting this release! and no, boycott is something that neither would like to do nor support it as an idea...

Isn't the lore for the Western AA games that it takes place in an alternate timeline California where it was rebuilt by Japanese immigrants, leading to the Japanese influences? If so, it'd just be that Phoenix' ancestors were part of these immigrants and we'd be done.
