Nine people stand in the middle of a grand room, large numbered doors adorned on each main wall. Apprehension and confusion mix on all of their faces.

A piece of paper lay on the floor. It seems to be a diagram of the area drawn by an inept person. The people decide to look around as they introduce themselves.

"I don't understand the purpose of these bracelets, and I sincerely hope that 'Oliver' is not your real name." A man in his late fifties said. "Because the person who kidnapped you may not know it, and giving them that information could be bad for your friends or family. Personally, I would advise using codenames, which is why you can just call me 'Doctor.'" Doctor gestured back towards his room. "I woke up in the number [8] room, and 'Doctor' contains the word 'octo.'"

He smiled at his decision, then frowned. "Oh, I'm sorry, I made an assumption... You were kidnapped, weren't you?" This question was really addressed towards all of the players.

The young woman spun around as another individual entered the room.

"Oh hi there!" She said smiling brightly.

She wore a professional-looking blue buttoned blouse with short-sleeves with and had shoulder length brown hair. Dangling loosely on her arm were a series of multicoloured bangles, the sort you would commonly be given to wear from donating to a charity. She complimented this outfit with a nice set of black trousers all in all looking like a manager of a nice club.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all, Doctor...and Oliver," she said bowing politely before looking at the 'watch' that Oliver was waving around the room. "I'm not sure really if I'd call that a watch, but I've got one too." she said raising her arm to show the clunky object strapped to it. "It's not exactly comfortable, whatever it is." she muttered irritatedly "Still...I don't suppose any of you know where we are? You are right about the kidnapping Doctor, I guess I can assume the same thing happened to you?" she sighed.

The young woman gave Oliver a perplexed look, he obviously seemed quite jumpy if he was snapping at things like that, but then again who wouldn't be given the situation. Maintaining her smile she continued.

"I assure you, Oliver I meant nothing by it, I was just...what's the phrase..." she raised a finger to her chin and thought "...Ah yes! 'Sizing you up,' that's what I was going for." she said brightly before raising her bracelet.

"Since Doctor has already revealed his, I'll do mine now yes? I am the number 7, I guess that makes me lucky!"

"Yes... And it's just Doctor, please." He nervously tugged on his black bow tie as he realized the ramifications of infringing on Marvel's copyright. He was actually wearing a tuxedo, which I forgot to mention. "Anyway, what were the rooms you woke up in like? Door number [8] was a rather untidy custodian's closet. I had some trouble solving the puzzle, since my damn hands were shaking too badly to really handle that pin..."

Doctor's eyes widened at the sight of the map. "Hold on, is that a map?"

The young woman's smile faltered somewhat "W-Well we'll need to make the best of situation, on the bright side you are still fine and not in any pain!" she said crossing her arm as she thought "I mean considering movies and stuff you could have woken up strapped to some kind of horrific torture or murder machine right? This isn't so bad compared to that I think."

She pointed past the others down the corridor where they came from, where there were 9 cabinets.

"Anyway's I came out of the 7th cabinet so you can all call me Seven of Nine I suppose!" She said before pausing to ponder it "Or that's a bit of a mouthful, perhaps just Seven for short."

Doctor had begun to question Oliver about the map "Yeah that map was here when I woke up, it's not...the most eloquent picture but it's simple enough for the room we are in." she explained looking over at the other doors.

Some time later, a man joined the group after managing to escape the closet which seems to be labeled with the number 4.

The man looks like he could be in his early 20s. He seems to be decked out in a light grey t-shirt, and a pair of jeans. But those clothes weren't what made him stood out from the others. What made him stood out from the others was his jacket and his shoes. His jacket seems to be a Sukajan Jumper jacket, from the looks of it, with the main colors being royal blue and white. There appears to be a picture of a dragon on the back of the jacket. And his shoes weren't really sneakers, really. In fact, the shoes were really geta shoes, the Japanese kind. And he wasn't wearing any socks. His hair was dyed a light blue and was tied into a man bun. Maybe this man was obsessed with the color blue? Nobody knows for sure.

".... Before anyone asks me if I'm Japanese, no. I'm not Japanese, but I'm actually American," The man explained to the group.

"Kidnapped...? That might explains why I ended up in that closet. But why? Why are we kidnapped?" The man asked.

After learning all of the strangers' .... names, the man realized something very important.

"Ah! Sorry, I didn't realized that you doesn't know me. My name is..." The man stopped himself. He was almost sure it doesn't feels right to tell them his actual name. Instead, the moment he glared at the number bracelet on his wrist, an idea came to his head.

"You can call me Yon. Yon is four in Japanese. I would go for Shi, but it is considered unlucky in Japanese. So, call me Yon, instead." The man explained himself to the group.

Seven of Nine smiled slightly, inwardly glad someone had got the reference before turning to the newcomer who had arrived.

"Hey there! Cool Jacket by the way but perhaps your name would be a better line to open with?" she joked examining the striking newcomer. He certainly had a bold appearance given his hair colour, only a little bit older than her as well by the looks of it.

"A fan of Japanese culture then I take it...Yon?" she asked once he had introduced himself. "You came from the number 4 room then I trust? Is 'Shi' just another way of saying 4 in Japanese then?" The questions came pouring out of Seven relentlessly for the intriguing Yon.

"Indeed, shi is another way of saying four in Japanese. However, the reason why shi is considered unlucky is that, when pronounced, it sounds like the word for.... death." Yon explained. The very thought of having to going around with the codename Shi was too morbid, really. And Yon didn't like that very thought.

There are three phases per round, so the round will total 72 hours

Round One will start at once everyone has checked in

One more thing--if you guys have any predictions on the mystery (once the mystery gets moving) and want bragging rights once the game ends, you can send them to me in the respective quicktopic

A tall, middle-aged man enters the area between the numbered doors from the hall with the closets. He is dressed in a clean, gray suit coat with gray pants and dress shoes. Under it, he wears a bright orange suit-vest with an orange tie and white dress shirt under it. His face is clean-shaven. In front of his eyes are a pair of small, wire-rimmed, reading glasses. His salt and pepper hair is medium-length, and it is neatly parted and sculpted around his head so that not a hair looks out of place.

Having heard some of the conversation taking place, he chimes in:

Hello. I came from door 5.

I'm sure whatever twisted human being brought us all here knows all of our names already, and this is an exercise in futility, but it can't hurt to try and hide, right?

Anyway, it should be easy to remember the code names if we're all forced to wear these number watches. Since the number on my watch is five, I figure I'll name myself after the fifth zodiac constellation: Leo.

The woman in the nightgown finally opened her mouth. "I... I was kidnapped too. By a someone in a gasmask." It's a bit hard to tell her age from her face, but somewhere in her 40s seems like a good guess. Her thin frame is shaking, and she seems extremely shaken up about... something, although it's hard to tell exactly what--there's too many things in this situation to be shaken up about to narrow it down.

She pulls her red knit cap down further over her head. As her arms come up, you can see the [1] displayed on the bulky bracelet on her wrist. "You... you can call me Luna."

Yon perked up once Luna introduced herself. No, it wasn't her code name, but it was something else that got his attention.

"Did you say you were abducted by a person in a gas mask?" Yon spoken up. He closes his eyes as if he was trying to remember something.

"I think.... Yes, I think I remember seeing a person in a gas mask inside my apartment. That was the last thing I saw before I was knocked out." Yon finally spoken, after opening his eyes. "Then I woke up in the closet."

Then a thought occurred to him. Just maybe.... Just maaaybe...

"Just to be sure we're on the right line," Yon said, rubbing his chin with one of his hands as if he was doing some thinking. "Did any of you guys get abducted by a person in a gas mask?"
