I was sure I mentioned this earlier. But he's not back, nor will he continue work with this case maker. He gave poor excuses (but oh well, their excuses so.. nothing I can do about that) as to leaving on MSN.

I personally believe that he has left, simply because Shaun has left. And that they were just making these programs as a way to dig at each other.

My evidence? Look at the competition there was in the previous topic for the case maker while 2.0 was under works.

Further evidence? The fact that Mecha's stopped, and about a week later (Even though he was saying he would complete it..) Shaun stops.

Even more evidence? Shaun has stated, the only way he'll continue working on PhoenixWrite is if he's allowed back on court-records.

Yeah, maybe if you gave some method of paying, we'd give you some money! :edgeworth:

I mean, do you want us to send money to a bunch of random credit cards and hope eventually we'll stumble upon to yours?

And surely you a somewhat stable version of 2.1 on your computer.... Unless you have dial-up, like I do, it should be no problem to upload it! Just walk away from your comp and let the file upload. It's not that hard. I do it all the time... I waited about an hour for 2.0 to download. :phoenix:

Yea.... I remember somewhere, stating that I'd offer to pay... Thing is I don't remember SEEING any method of payment. Nothing of PayPal, for that matter. :sal:

Besides the Wiki help entry, I don't even recall seeing an official website for Case Maker. :eh?:

Is the case maker easy to use? Also, do you have to keep all the sprites and music for the cases on the hard disk after you've finished the case? I don't wanna clog up my computer!

Somewhat. 2.1b is easier to use, IMO. :phoenix:

Yes and no.

After you are done with your case, you have the option to build the exe, and clear out your files.
However, if you later decide to make changes to your case, after deleting your project files. Well.... You'll pretty much be screwed. I'd say at least make backups if you don't want to keep the project files on your PC. ;)

Eh, someone please help me. ._.;;

Before I even start on asking about ActionLine, I'll start with a simple thing. Start-up.

I try to make a case via: System > Load new case, as well as System > Build ma game! and I get annoying results from both. Through "Load new case", it just takes me back to the main thingie you see upon start up (y'know, with MechaBowser's contact info and stuff). And with "Build ma game!" I just get this blank white window. It... does... nothing. :meekins:

Another simple thing. Characters. Except here's the twist in my problem - where it searches for the files for the sprites (or whatever you call them)! It's looking on my desktop... :zap: I never put files on my desktop! And still, the only thing PW related there is the shortcut for the Case Maker program!

Much appriciated if anyone could help me out with these two starter issues... *Sniff.*

You'd probabily be best off asking for help here. And using the version thats in this topic. As for your problem(s) I'll help them here 'cause I might as well.

:testimony:
Spoiler: --Not being able to load cases--
Sabrina Ellis wrote:

:holdit:
That is exactly what is supposed to happen, once it has loaded the case, you then go into the actionlist from there. The case maker shows no sign of having "loaded" anything at all. This problem has also been solved before, I beleive page 1-3 ? It just takes a little reading.

Sabrina Ellis wrote:
And with "Build ma game!" I just get this blank white window. It... does... nothing. :meekins:

:holdit:
The case-maker is not exactly 'doing nothing' . It tries to compile the case and makes an EXE for you to run the case stand-alone, but I am assuming, because you're trying to load your own new case, it has nothing to compile. So it cannot complete what it is supposed to be doing.

:examination:
Spoiler: --Characters being weird--
Sabrina Ellis wrote:
I never put files on my desktop! And still, the only thing PW related there is the shortcut for the Case Maker program!

:holdit:
There is two possible reasons as to why this is happening, #1 Inside your projects folder (Inside the Case Maker Folder) you should find a folder for your case ( Courtrecords Turnabout , for example ) inside there, there SHOULD be a "Characters" folder . If not. that could be a possible reason it's doing this.

The other is what you have already stated for us.
Sabrina Ellis wrote:
the only thing PW related there is the shortcut for the Case Maker program!

This should-cut should be causing the program to believe that its "root directory" (the place its running form) is on the desktop, thus why it is trying to find things here. Although this is a little less likely, I know that I don't use short-cuts on my desktop, I always have them in my quick-launch bar, and I've not had a issue with the case-maker being there.

Spoilered to make the post smaller. As I have said at the top of the post, you will get more support for the case maker in the topic I gave you a link to.

Croik can we get this topic closed until the original author returns and requests it re-opened? We're ending up with posts in here that will never be responded to.

The unofficial 2.1 beta is the topic these queries should be going to.
