Oh that Police... I thought they meant the actual work branch and all. Yeah, I kinda forgot about those because I think they were before my time or I just don't care about them anymore.

If you haven't played Dual Destines yet, try not to talk to Trucy when you're not required to talk to her.
Spoiler:
At least half her lines involve panties.

Well she is 17 and the perfect age to give us panty shots, so I guess since DD won't SHOW us anything, TALKING about them may serve the best kind of panty fanservice they can give us, without jacking the rating up...

And I don't think Nintendo is going to add a 18+ section to the e-shop anytime soon. Although I have to admit it makes
me curious what kind of products they would sell to this demographic.

A question for everybody saying they hate the ladder/stepladder thing...

Pretty much all of those conversations (from what I remember) are 100% optional. This isn't like Pearl smacking Nick or Gumshoe getting a pay cut, where it's inserted repeatedly into multiple scenes. You're not actually required to examine the ladder/stepladder in order to continue. So... Couldn't you just not examine the thing, the next time you see one? Why all the fuss?

I was actually disappointed that they didn't make this joke in dual destinies. There's only one ladder in the game, and you can't examine it. On the subject of Dual Destinies, I hated how it only lets you examine the scene in certain moments, and usually you are required to click on everything you can, it takes away some of the fun of looking for little easter eggs you couldn't find if you were just playing the game normally.

I will say this, I do see your point and this argument because I imagine most of y'all wanna explore every piece of the environment in the video games and I will admit there are some scenes that I found pretty funny. But then there's people like me who much rather not go after the gags or jokes and would rather beat the level or even beat the murderers in the trial.

I agree about the magic panties gag. It made me literary facepalmed at how many times it was mentioned in DD.

I also agree about Larry Butz. I didn't mind him in the first game, when he at least did things other than complain about his girlfriends like when he interrupted the trial in 1-4 just as you're about to get the guilty verdict.

I'm also getting a little tired of having a case related to a past case that happened "seven years ago".

Seconded. I played JFA first, and when I met her I just thought "oh, okay". Some of her ramblings were funny, but by AAI she'd just kind of become overused, I guess... either way, she was bloody irritating XD

The panties made me cringe, I'd quite happily see that one gone.

Same with Dr Hotti/Hickfield/whatever... the whole thing was slightly uncomfortable... also the conversations took forever and didn't really get anywhere

I liked the ladder/stepladder thing, my then-Ace Attorney-obsessed mother and I started making the joke ourselves :edgey:

I completely agree with you. It just seems a bit unnecessarily cruel. It's not really funny, it just makes me feel bad for Gumshoe, since it's heavily implied he lives in poverty, which is not funny at all.

Not that I find the jokes funny, but it did make me wonder: if he's so poor that he cannot afford insta-ramen, how can he pay the rent in that little dingy he's living in?

Gumshoe: ...I got really sick of the stuff after a while, sir.

How many paychecks can Edgeworth dock before Gumshoe will just flat out quit? (Which btw I'm calling as the reason why he wasn't in Ace Attorney 4 and 5)

I noticed that most of the jokes I dislike debuted in Takumi's games but worsened in Yamazaki's. The jokes about Gumshoe's salary,no one knowing who Payne is,Edgeworth's obsession over the Steel Samurai, even the panty jokes. They drive them into the ground till they're unfunny as all hell.

I find Edgeworth's "ngooooh!" really overdone. It was funny when he said it the first time, and it was funny when it made a little return in DD (in my opinion) because there it just felt like a nod to Investigations. And then in SoJ it's "ngooooh! Ngooooh! Ngoooooooooh!"

It was a one-time thing in GS3 back then and it didn't really become a thing until AAI where Edgey is always screaming at something. And even then, it was a localization-only addition.

I don't think I've ever heard it from him in a Japanese source until the TGS2016 special court promo, though I could be overlooking something, and it landed like a brilliant callback to the first time it happened.

Actually, she teases him about the face he makes as he screams. Sometimes, I kinda wish the artists went the extra mile and added a sprite with that face.
