Bradley glances at Midge debating what to say "Miss Midge, your life is clearly very important to Emma. I don't hate you but I can't forgive Emma for what she did. Unless we find another trial, only you have the power to change things right now."

He crossed his arms "We should be pragmatic about this though as we don't have much time. Mr Helios if you have an idea about another trial then you should do it and we'll see what happens." he said standing by the door.

"Bradley, if you know what you're doing, then I don't have anything else to say. The five of us were together when Einstein was alive and then we found an open box of tranquilizers that confirms that someone killed the dog and that it didn't just die of old age. Good luck."

"Alright Helios, intuitively, it should work if I go over to you and like, make a motion that I'm stabbing you, right? And then you can pay dead, and I can get everyone vaccines. We just have to do it real subtle-like."

Emma walked over to the wreckage. "There's two bracelets. Must've fallen off of them. One of them has a broken display but the other has a [1] on it."

"Alright, let's take the working one then." Midge decided.

Emma first tried it against the forcefield for Ghost's trial in the bedroom, but got zapped. They didn't have the '7' key so they couldn't try the chess clock trial, and returned back to the trash room for now.

"Ok, so this has to be Teddy's bracelet." Emma noted. "Assuming Helios is right, that is. He might not be."

"We're not gonna get further without the '7' key." Violet kicked the forklift tire in frustration.

"I don't think THE ENTHUSIAST is Teddy anyway..."

[Also Violet heard Einstein bark and while looking for him heard Midge's trial announcement. Violet wasn't with the group before they headed to the Biolab and there was a period where everyone split up that was mentioned. Einstein could've died during that time]

"Hmm..."

Midge makes sure to orbit Emma, rummaging through the trash as she does so.

"This is such a nightmare."

Midge sticks her head up and begins to climb over junk over towards Helios.

"Okay, so maybe Einstein was dead before we all joined back up, which means maybe Bradley and Violet were actually with each other the whole time while the adults were split up."

"Anyway, maybe we should do that thing about earlier, the one where I pretend to kill you so we can get a vaccine, you know? Lots of people could benefit from that, probably."

She chuckles to herself as she hauls over.

"I mean, it's kind of lame but if it works, it works."

"Speaking of things that are kind of lame, Helios you said you had known about Ghost's bracelet being broken, which I find to be of note because you don't really have any reason to know that. Also, it just so happens that you know another bit of random information, that you could have used Ghost's bracelet to enter his trial and all... Ghost's trial would probably have something to do with their often caring and compassionate demeanor. It might have been something challenging for Ghost, like killing a dog. I suppose after someone did that trial they would break the bracelet, yeah."

Midge stands upon the heap and stares Helios down.

Bradley gasped at the explanation as it did make some form of sense. "I mean...yeah I'm sure Ghost would have never been able to kill Einstein but aren't we making a lot of assumptions?"

He looked over to Mr Helios "We should just see if he's cured using the bio lab or search him to see if he still has a vaccine. Maybe we'd find something out then but for your sake I hope she's not right Mr Helios" he added, brow furrowed as his attention focused on Helios.

"So...you're accusing me just because I happened to make a few lucky guesses?" Helios asked, "Well, I suppose it's an interesting theory, at least. Unfortunately, I don't have any vaccines on me, and I'm just as sick as the rest of you. You can trust me on that." He showed off the same grin he always did, but the corners of his mouth seemed to twitch.

Emma stares at Helios, keeping her distance from him. "You really didn't have any reason to know the broken bracelet was Ghost's though...either way, I think a search would quickly prove what you're claiming. You wouldn't mind that, right?" She said, not taking her eyes off him.

“I’m afraid I’m gonna have to agree with Pres here. That’s a lot of assumptions you’re making here”, Albert says reluctantly. “But let’s think about this again. If he did kill that mutt to get a vaccine, either he still has it with him or he already used it on himself. If it’s the former, we can simply search him for it. But if it’s the latter…well, I’m sure Em over there can check if he’s still exhibiting the symptoms of Blight. She’s the medical professional here, after all.”

"It's presumptuous, but it explains his strange behavior with the bracelets the best," Midge says wryly. "Also he just said that he was lucky with his guesses, even though we still don't know if he was right or wrong about how the bracelets work, probably because he knows."

"We should definitely check him for anything suspicious. He's definitely acting kind of strange."

Bradley coughed heavily reminding everyone of their ticking clock "Considering the alternative is that Miss Midge just starts killing people, we should just check Mr Helios and be done with it. It won't take long and it'll let us move onto other avenues of investigation."

Bradley took a deep breath straightening up again "In fact it's probably not a bad idea to just check everyone at this point if we are going to be fair."

Nobody seemed to be cured after a cursory inspection by Emma. Emma and Midge then began a search of each person. Helios had nothing…

“Hmm…” Emma frowned. “There’s something in Adriana’s purse. In the material. It feels like-”

“This is ludicrous.” Helios spoke up. “We have rights and-”

“Helios, stop.” Adriana looked down. She sifted through her purse and pulled out...a child vaccine.

Bradley stumbled backwards. Almost robotically, he grabbed a jagged and rusty piece of metal from one of the trash heaps. “Did you...kill Einstein?”

Helios took a slight step back. “Let’s not get ridiculous. At the end of the day, it was a dog.”

“He wasn’t just a dog!” Bradley yelled. “H-He...He was my friend!”

Helios and Adriana exchanged a glance. One that completely betrayed them.

“We weren’t going to use it on ourselves.” Helios insisted. “We weren’t sure what would happen.”

“So you just killed the dog?” Midge grimaced.

“And do what instead?” Helios glared. “Let someone die? The reward for the trial was a child vaccine, you know?”

Bradley fell on his knees. There was a dark, far-away look in his eyes. It didn’t seem he was breathing, but tears flowed incessantly down his face.

“L-Listen…” Adriana cupped her hands. “We just didn’t want to create a panic for the vaccine.”

Helios looked curiously at Bradley. “You said he was your dog? But Null said-”

Bradley seemed to be getting further and further from the room. More and more dissonant. Any words of reassurance were falling on deaf ears.

Adriana kneeled down close to Bradley, trying to speak in a comforting tone. “Bradley, I made sure he didn’t suff-”

Bradley moved fast as a whip. In the blink of an eye, he lashed out with the scrap metal and pierced Adriana’s throat. Despite her being mindful of the weapon, she wasn’t able to avoid it.

“A-Adriana!” Helios wailed.

She collapsed. Quickly, Emma grabbed Bradley and pulled him away while Helios tried to tend to Adriana.

But Bradley wasn’t done. He wrestled himself out of Emma’s grip and stabbed Helios in the back, knocking him to the side. Then he stabbed Adriana. Again. Then again.

“B-Bradley, stop it!” Midge wrapped her arms around him and tried to pull him off, but he was impassioned by complete and utter rage.

Eventually, Violet came to help and they both pulled him off. Bradley screamed and kicked his feet, but eventually breathlessly collapsed against Midge’s stomach.

He was covered in Adriana’s blood, and his hands were cut from the piece of metal he had wielded. Midge found her hands and clothes being stained with the blood as well.

Bradley’s rapid, furious breaths slowly began to slow down. They slowly turned into quiet, held-back sobs.

Helios cried out in pain from the (non-fatal) wound near his shoulder blade. He looked over at Adriana, eyes filling with sadness. Then he looked over at Bradley, eyes filling with rage and complete horror at the child.

He was alive, despite the nasty wound in his back. He didn't seem to be in danger of dying, at least at the moment.

"Agh, what the hell! Are you insane?!" Helios shouted.

He rested his hand against a wall, clutching his wound. Blood was seeping into his tuxedo, and his breaths were pained and ragged. He looked between Adriana and Bradley, pain and horror in his eyes.

"We had no choice! We weren't going to let a child die for the sake of a dog! And now look at what you've done! An absolutely senseless loss of life... My god..." Helios trailed off, his voice wavering.

"You pussies", Albert scoffs. "You could've just told us this from your beginning, and then maybe you would be in a better condition. But you hid it from us till now. Were you too scared of admitting to killing a goddamn dog? Or were you planning to save your own asses? Either way, you both are worthless. You got what was coming to you."

"So you killed Einstein to give the child vaccine to me or Bradley? That sounds like total BS!" Violet snapped. "If you really wanted to save one of us, you would have given it to us as soon as you got it! You just wanted to save yourselves!"

"Yeah, sure, I was scared. But can you really blame me when you've got people claiming they're assassins from the goddamn future coming to save the human race by putting my head on a stick?" Helios shouted angrily. "We would have easily traded the thing for an adult vaccine if one had shown up. Hell, I didn't even have the thing on me, so it's not like I could have used it."

"Not that it even matters anymore. People are just gonna assume the worst of me like they always do." Helios said, scoffing dryly. "And now you're just gonna tear into Adriana when she can't even defend herself anymore. But sure, I'm the villain here..."

Midge looks at Adriana's corpse, the blood running from it, wrapping her arms around herself.

"I wonder how the world is going to be like without you Helios," she says, turning to him with a dire fear burning in her eyes and blood at her lips, brandishing the knife.

"Don't worry, you won this war the last time we fought it. It was over all too soon too."

The paramilitary woman begins herding Helios back, creeping closer to him, poised to strike.

"Yes, I can blame you", Albert replies drily. "Did you not think for one second that hiding it would actually worsen the situation once you were found out? Really, you would actually have had a lesser chance of dying had you been forthcoming about it from the beginning. But if you're going to be stubborn about it like the two-bit crook you are, Pres, I suppose there's little I can do about it. Take care of him for me, Clara." He sighs, walking to Adriana's corpse.

"That reminds me, actually. Where's the vaccine now anyway? I don't think I got a good look at it after Addy took it out and Bratley killed her. Is it still on her?" He gives the body a cursory look, seeing if the vaccine is on her.

Midge takes a step closer to Helios, practically inches away.

He looked up at her with pleading eyes. "You don't have to do this. Justify it all you want... you know this is wrong."

Midge huffs, her blood running red, even as she stands glaring at him. The words from Helios cause her to let out a chuckle.

"How will I ever live with the guilt?"

Midge punches the knife through Helios's neck.

As she watches the life leave his eyes, she grimaces and begins to cry.

"I'm not sure, Tesla."

The knife slipped in easily, making a squelching, viscous sound.

Shortly after, an adult vaccine drops by Midge's feet.

"Heh. Well, isn't that just lucky? Now we have two vaccines- we can cure an adult and a child, or cure a child and partially cure the other. Well, if we can find the other one", Albert grumbles, now examining Adriana's corpse in detail, searching for the child vaccine.

Midge pockets the vaccine, wiping her face on her sleeve. "Come on, you wanted this. This is the timeline where you can live."

She treks back to the others.

"Whoever wants the child vaccine should just take it. It's not like I can save all of you."

"Heh. Here we are, then." Albert holds the vaccine up close to him. "Remember though, Clara. A child vaccine can either cure a child or an adult. We're equals here, after all. We could split it up so we'd get partially cured, I suppose but that would mean we'd have to find a hospital soon to get cured in time."

"Oh yeah it doesn't work like that. Hmm. I don't think it's a good idea for any of us to leave this place carrying this thing, it'lll turn into a pandemic for sure."

Midge wipes blood off her hands on her clothes.

"Actually, Albert, you don't have immunity to Blight-Y, right? Maybe you should cryogenically freeze yourself, if we can do that. Then we should be able to get you on a return trip here after Blight-Y is suppressed."

"Ahh, that's it then, we solved it... That's enough for everyone."

Midge gives the others a weak smile.

"Albert, you get in the pod."

"Violet or Bradley you take the child vaccine."

"Here, Emma, you take the adult vaccine."

She gives the adult vaccine to Emma, she looks into her eyes, givingher a solemn nod. She brings out the ring showing it to her, the one on the silver chain.

"Emma, you're a really great person, you know. I never forgot about you, even when my life was inches away from being extinguished, even as time ticked away and it became less and less likely that I'd ever get to see you again. I'm glad we could be together this last time. Say hello to myself for me. Don't catch Blight-Y."

Midge takes out the knife, grabbing it by the blade, and presents the handle to Bradley and Violet.

"And then one of you needs to take the other child vaccine..."

Emma solemnly looks at Midge, realizing what she intends to do when she gives the kids the knife.

"...isn't there any other way?" She asked, already knowing the answer.

"...I wish this could all have gone differently. With all that happened in those 9 years since you...since I lost you, I just couldn't trust anyone here, even when I saw you. Still, when it came to that choice, I couldn't bring myself to do anything else. And I...somehow don't regret that, knowing what will happen now."

She looks like she wants to get closer to Midge, but chooses to stay where she is. "...I promise I'll see you again, Clara." With a determined look on her face, she proceeded to inject the vaccine on herself.
