"All things considered, I have very little reason to trust you and your convenient excuses. But I don't really want to start a huge shoot-out either." Helios said, raising the shotgun closer to Teddy's position. "But if you're talking about 'noble sacrifices,' I have to wonder who you're talking about. You seem to care a lot about getting a vaccine for your daughter. Perhaps you're volunteering?"

He shook his head and sighed at Bradley. "Whatever's stitched up inside us, I don't think we can get it out safely. I mean, I don't remember anyone finding a hospital room, but even if someone did, I don't think any of us have the training to pull it off."
Finally, after hearing Helios's response, Teddy started chuckling. "Really, Tesla? After all we've been through, you're going to pretend you don't know me?" His voice suddenly turned cold. "I'm fucking serious about Adriana, though. Her name's Nina Gummer. She's an undercover agent, and she's after you. If you ignore what I'm telling you, you're gonna fucking regret it."
Teddy seemed to... actually consider Helios's question. "If we had five marbles, I don't think I'd mind offering up mine to the cause. But there's no reason for anyone to die unless we're going to go all the way."
And after Adriana's defense, Teddy started... hysterically laughing. "AHAHAHAHA! You think he knows about you? Oh my god, that's rich. When I questioned him about you after we first woke up, it took him 5 minutes to remember your last name!"

She pulls back, the knife firmly grasped in her hand, a crazed smile creeping across her face.
"Come on, Midge. You've got nothing to lose anymore. Just go for it."
Midge pushes past Violet, bounding rapidly toward Teddy in front of her.
"Do you want sacrifices?! Earn 'em! Don't just jump when you've got the advantage!" she says, hurling one of the chairs through the air toward him. "I'm not going to die here, meat sack!"

Pumped full of adrenaline, Midge decided to...run. She spat at the ground and ran out the door. Teddy aimed to fire gun, but she had already disappeared.
"FUCK!"
It seemed Bradley had run out of the room in the commotion too. Adriana had ducked by the table as shots fired and was still there, quivering.
Teddy quickly ran to Violet, making sure she was alright. He then glanced over at Adriana and Helios, taking note of the shotgun that Helios was still holding with great discipline.
Helios slowly moved closer to Adriana. It was unclear whether he was aiming to protect her from Teddy, or staying close to her in case she made a move.
Teddy stamped his foot. "Well, Tessy? We got half an hour. You better decide quick or I'll do it for you."

Eventually, he turned back to Teddy. Making a poor attempt at looking confident, he replied, "S-Sorry, Mr. Bianchi, but no deal. I-I'm sick of seeing you weasel your way out of every accusation. There's no way you weren't responsible for one of these murders, and you're more than willing to commit a new one!"
"Y-You're a danger to the people of this nation I stepped up to represent," Helios said, raising the gun towards him. "A-And that has consequences!"

Quickly and deftly, Helios aimed his shotgun at Violet, trying to cover himself as much as he could behind the table. Teddy pointed his gun at Adriana in retaliation.
“Heh.” Helios chuckled. “If this is the standoff you want, you’re going to lose.”
"You're bluffing." Teddy said. "You're not gonna shoot a kid."
"What would you say the odds of me shooting her are? 10-1? 20-1? 30? No matter how low they get...I'm not sure you're willing to take the chance."
Teddy glared at Helios, not wavering the gun away from Adriana. “I was telling you the truth about her, y'know. You’re making a big fucking mistake here.”
Helios stared back at Teddy, then briefly flitted his eyes to Adriana.
“She’s my campaign manager. It’s my mistake to make.”
"You're a real fucking dumbass, you know that?"
Helios began to step backwards, not letting his gun leave Violet. He grabbed Adriana’s arm a bit roughly, and quickly exited the room.

“So, why are we here?” Helios asked, barring the door to the garden shut with a bench behind him.
“When we were here, we never got the clue from the anagram. SIX FEET UNDER. I can’t think of anything that’d be underground other than a vaccine.”
Helios looked back at the door.
“What?” She asked. “Would you rather kill one of the kids?”
Helios swung the shotgun over his back using the strap. “...I’ll help dig a hole. But we don’t have a lot of time or energy left…” He sighed heavily, and painfully. “It’ll take so long to dig one six feet…where do we start?”
“We just have to get lucky.”
Helios stared at her. “That’s your plan?”
“It’s the plan, for now. Keep the shotgun ready in case Teddy gets through.”

"W-w-who..." words escaped her, as did tears. "What the fuck is that?!? Helios? What the fuck is this?"
Some horrific realization hit her. "Helios... how did you know that was there...? How did you know that was the exact spot where that... that that... was?!?"
She clutched the shovel and wielded it defensively, as if she could ward off what she'd seen. "What is this?"

"L-Look," Helios stammered, resting a hand on his forehead. "M-Maybe she's like your long lost twin sister...or some weird clone or, I dunno. Maybe it's a complete fake, and Null just put this here to screw with us!"

Helios and Adriana had been so focused on the body, they almost forgot about Teddy.
He burst through the barricade, and quickly and surgically aimed his gun towards them. Helios had ducked out of the way, but Adriana was still in significant shock. Both of Teddy’s shots ripped straight through her chest.
Helios returned fire, just barely missing and only knocking the dirt loose next to Teddy.
Teddy ducked behind the toolshed, trying to go around it and see if he could get a better angle.
“This is not a good time, Mr. Bianchi!” Helios shouted. “I’m questioning the nature of my own reality here!”
“What the FUCK are you talking about?!”
Helios didn’t answer, but just quickly scurried through the door. Teddy aimed and...didn’t fire. He only had two bullets left. Had to make them count. Quickly, he followed after Helios.
He ended up cornering Helios in the lounge. Helios fired as Teddy tried to get through the entrance hallway.
“D-Dad?!” Violet shouted from the game room entrance. “What’s going on?!”
“Stay inside!”
“S-Stay back!” Helios warned. He kept the gun trained on Teddy’s position.
Then, as if he had water thrown on him...he suddenly stopped.
Helios lowered his gun and leaned against the wall. His face was one of complete bewilderment. “God...who even cares anymore?”
Not one to miss opportunity, Teddy quickly moved down the hall and fired, his bullet hitting Helios clean in the throat. He coughed and spurt slightly and then fell to the ground, massive amounts of blood pouring around him.
Teddy kept the gun trained as Helios writhed. But Helios didn’t seem to make another effort to fight back. His face just relaxed into a sad expression as he eventually just stopped moving. Stopped twitching.
Teddy warily approached him, and then lifted up his shirt. He tore the scar’s stitching apart with his bare hands, and retrieved the glass ball. He pocketed it without a hint of uneasiness.
Teddy checked his watch. Five minutes. He had time to retrieve Adriana’s ball, but not much else. Looking for Bradley didn’t seem to be an option anymore unless they just stumbled upon him by chance.
Teddy walked back into the game room, past Violet by the door. He nodded his head at her, telling her to wait outside.
“You got him?” Midge asked from the machine.
“Yeah. Both of them.”
She nodded. “None of this okay, you know. Do you really think she was worth it? Over everyone else?” She grunted as she shifted slightly, hurting her wound. “Whatever, I’m not a sore loser. There have been enough times where I got lucky already. I’m not gonna be greedy.”
He nodded back at her. “Yeah, it is what it is.”
BANG
Teddy exited the game room shortly after, blood staining his clothes. He looked down the hallway that led to the foyer and garden, then back at Violet. He picked up the shotgun from Helios, doing a quick check to see how many shells were left. “Let’s go.”

Teddy and Violet arrived in the garden. Emma and Albert’s bodies were still there, but Teddy just moved Violet quickly past them. He headed towards where Adriana was now lying down.
Yet despite his eyes on the prize, Teddy stopped before reaching Adriana. Even he couldn’t help but check out the hole nearby, seeing what they had unearthed.

He turned back to the fresh Adriana corpse, but stopped short. "You--probably don't want to be here for this," he said to Violet. "You can, uh, go around the facility and call out to Bradley and tell him it's safe for him. I mean he might still think it's a trap, but there's a better chance he'll believe you than me. If there's enough vaccines in the safe, there's no reason not to save him too... Just be quick, and go immediately to the safe afterwards."

When he heard Violet calling out, he peeked out and upon confirming she was alone he came out of hiding. "Vi-Violet?" He stuttered crawling out and letting go of Einstein who Yipped excitedly and ran to meet Violet oblivious to the mood "Is it safe...is...is your dad OK?" He asked tentatively.

"Uh...sorry." Bradley frowned at Violet, looking like he was about to burst into tears. "I-I'll be right back!" He threw Einstein into Violet's arms and ran off quickly before she could even respond to him.
"B-Bradley, wait!"

Meanwhile...
Teddy took a step towards Adriana's corpse and kneeled down. He lifted up the front of her shirt to examine her stitched scar.
But there was no scar. It was an open wound that had already been fished through. Teddy's face blanched...who could it have been? Bradley?
"I'm still here, Teddy."
Teddy froze. He looked in the direction of where had heard the voice...down. Adriana's eyes had flitted open. Then slowly, she pushed herself up off of the dirt. If the two bullet wounds in her chest bothered her, it didn't show.
He immediately grabbed his shotgun and pointed it at her, making an attempt to stand up but instead he fell over while scrambling for control. He quickly gathered himself and tried again, this time getting to his feet. He put a good amount of distance between him and….whoever she was.
“Is this what you’re looking for?” She asked. She was holding one of the glass balls in her hand, a little too tightly.
His eyes widened. He still kept the gun trained on her, but he could only do it unsteadily. For one of the first times in a long time, Teddy remembered what it was like to feel true fear.
"Adriana..." Teddy tried to sound as steady as he could, but he felt he was failing. "Give that to me. Please...it's for Violet."
Adriana looked down at the body in the hole, then back at Teddy. “You seem to know a lot about this...thing. Am I wrong?”

She drew in a ragged breath. "You killed Helios-- don't bother denying it, I'm not stupid. That means that the only way... the only way you get this marble, intact, is if you give me the information I want and convince me you're not bullshitting me before I pass out. Or not, and the marble gets destroyed. No other decision you possibly have to make matters more than that right now. If that's wrong, then you can let me destroy this marble and you can fuck off out of here while I die in as much peace as I can muster."

"You were caught snooping around in something you shouldn't have been sticking your nose in, so you were... eliminated," Teddy explained. "We found a badge on the corpse saying you were an FBI agent named Nina Gummer. Last I knew, you were in the trunk of a car heading God-knows-where.
"...That probably still leaves you with a million questions, but I have a million questions myself," Teddy spat. "When I saw you in here after waking up, I was probably just as shocked as you were when you found her. If you are Nina Gummer (and are just... insanely committed to your cover story), then you know I'm telling the truth about that. But if you really are just Adriana Bennett... then I have no fucking clue. I know it sounds batshit insane, but... I swear on my wife's grave that it's true. I hope you can appreciate that if I was going to lie with my daughter's life on the line, I'd come up with something better than this."
