As the mascot reaches the edge of the stage, it seems a little concerned about the flaming curtains.
“When there is a fire,” it says, “Always remember to stop, drop, and roll!”
It proceeds to do so, but since its head is basically a flamethrower that only makes things worse. Too bad none of these monsters have water powers…right?
...
Meanwhile, Psycho attempts to open one of the webbed up doors leading into the snaking hallways backstage. The webs are tough and sticky, so nothing seems to be working, until Blaze lights a piece of wood on the flaming curtain and lights up the bed.
Entering the hallway, Psycho hears a calming tune being plucked on strings. She’s hit with an overwhelming urge to go deeper inside, though doing so only intensifies the strange whispers that fill her with a sense of dread and doubt.

The bagpipe wraith, having accomplished all it came for, took to the skies once again, resuming its haunting tune. But it seemed more monsters would soon take its place

She smacked her forehead with her palm. And then she charged forward, sprinting across the stage and scooping up her (figuratively and literally) big sister without breaking her stride. Lori only stopped running when they were backstage and safe (OR WERE THEY).
Lori dropped Deianira unceremoniously on the floor. "You've really gotta pick your battles, 'Nira," she said. The younger sister blinked and squinted as she looked around. What were all these spider webs doing here?

Suddenly, Tucker lets out a surprised gasp. He taps Psycho on the shoulder and points up at the ceiling.
A massive black spider is perched on the ceiling in the center of a web. But where it’s head should be, a humanoid torso emerges, covered in black tendril-like hairs. The two can barely make out its face, which consists of eight glowing red eyes and a fanged human mouth.
It has human arms with long, sharp fingernails, between which it weaves a network of silk cords. It plucks them like strings with its legs and sings a song in an unrecognizable language. Psycho and Tucker are frozen in place, unable to move, when the monster finally spots them.
The spider hisses at the two intruders. Within seconds, it blasts a web of silk around the buffet table and then, grabbing the end of the string, slings it around and through the window. The glass flies apart in an shower of glass shards, and the monster follows them out, vanishing into the night.
Tucker watches it go. He sees it head through the rides toward Skully’s Final Destination.
…
Meanwhile, those back on the stage aren’t too surprised to see a large, flying elephant head appear from near the ferris wheel. It lets loose a torrential downpour from its long trunk, dousing the curtains and putting out the fire before it spreads any further. This has the side effect of getting everyone on-stage soaked, but it’s probably for the best.
The mascot’s body climbs onto the stage and waves at its head, quite happy to reunite with it. The head slots into its neck, covering the source of the flamethrower, and then takes to the skies once more, carrying the body beneath it. It flies off in the direction of the Power Plant.

As the bagpipe music begins to fade, the park returns to some semblance of normalcy, though many of the guests have already escaped to the exits.
The band slowly begins to reunite on the stage and tries to work out exactly what just happened…
[I’ll now start handing out cards to everyone. You may then submit your Split Up phase actions.
Check the map here for your starting positions. You can have your character move to their starting position before the phase change, but it’s not necessary.
Spoiler: Starting Positions
The small bags are Evidence, and the numbers indicate how many are in each room. Brown bags will either provide valuable information or be totally useless, but purple bags are guaranteed to hold information about one of the monsters. You’ll need to collect both to solve the mystery! More evidence may be added to the field as the game continues.
The Fear level is below. Individual Courage values will be handed out after the Split Up phase.]

All he heard was silence on the other end. He checked the walkie-talkie. It seemed to be functioning properly. Were the rest of the crew scared off? Who knows. Dario sighed, and started listening to the conversation between the people backstage.
He interjected, still shaking a bit from the wraith and headless elephant mascot attacks, "Oh jeez, oh man, what are we gonna do? We can't all just sit around here bickering about whose fault this is. We need to do something about these monsters. But what?" He began pacing around the room. "How are we supposed to defend ourselves against the supernatural?"

Lori's voice came from behind Dario as she walked in with an excited grin. "Ed, you should book us in haunted theme parks more often. That was totally rad!" She cleared her throat. "You know, besides the whole 'we almost died' thing."
She popped another gummy worm into her mouth. "Anyway. That haggis thing liked crowds, right? So maybe we should, like... split up? Or something?" She raised her eyebrows. "Ooh! Do you think the monsters locked us in? And, like. We can't leave this place until we catch them?" This idea probably should have been horrifying. But it only made Lori's smile widen.
