Mao was bleeding a bit, and had some cuts over his skin and clothes but most were superficial. He appeared to be managing and lucid at least.

Mao looks over at Taikong at Amandi's question, obviously not comfortable with answering it himself. "Yeah, I know him. There was a photo of all of us in our room actually."

He coughs awkwardly. "Anyway, our room had a bit of a tricky puzzle solution where we had to break some glass and-" Mao gestured over his own injured body, thinking that'd be enough to explain. "We found a book by some Blaketon fellow too about this morphogenetic field..." He went on to explain it in detail.

"It was a really fascinating room. Filled with a lot of ancient Chinese artificats, I have no idea how Cat could've gotten them. He must be well connected, but you could really see the evolution of our great country. I highly recommend everybody check it out, it's worth the point hit!" It wasn't clear if he was joking or not by that.

"Also one of our puzzle solutions was 'Hiro is dead', which I deduced to mean Fujisaki since he's the only Japanese in our group. But he's clearly alive, so I doubt it means anything and was just a clue for a puzzle."

"... Mei." Dr. Uwem looks over to the medic. "Make sure you're ready to comforts Taikong as this might be a difficult moment for him."

Then he looks back at Mao. "I regrets to tell you this, but... Sun Haiyang is dead. We found his body in our room." He explains. "I know it came as a sudden shock. I was able to give the victim a examination, and am able to come up with an autopsy report. However, due to the state of the body we discovered..." The doctor then went on to explain the autopsy report, allowing both the general and the soldier to take in the information.

"We managed to identify him due to the dog tags on his body with Juanli's help. Well, someone put a sticker with the fake name 'Giy Bo' onto the dog tags. So, Juanli helped us out by removing the sticker with some scissors. By removing the sticker, we discovered who he is..." He concluded his report. "So, there you have it; the autopsy report of Sun Haiyang."

The others notice that X has a noticeable limp, as she creeps behind the others. She chuckles at the autopsy, "We were in a female servant's quarters, covered in rubble. It reminded the Rat that his father saved him from a bombing raid, apparently in that room. We found a brochure for the Temple of the Sun, a tourist attraction near the border, which was used by members of the aristocracy to distract them from their cynical lives," she smiles just a little bit at her remark.

"We found some files on the disappearance of the young son of that dead american ambassador. The files were compiled by the Sheep. Those files were kept in a room accessed through the back of a hefty wooden cabinet, which was an office. We have a key with a tiger on it and one red envelope." Upon finishing her explanation, X puts a hand to her chin with a grin, "It seems that the Rat's father was murdered and in this building too."

Juanli, having finished her little papercrafted Monk figure places him on the edge of the balcony where she thinks he looks pretty swell.

"It's sad to think of but maybe the body we found in the bedroom was your father Mr Sun based on that information Miss X had " she sighed sadly before giving X a concerned look "Are you ok though Miss X? You seem to be limping."

She also looks over at Amethyst and breathes a heavy sigh of relief, an expression of genuine delight on her face. "Oh that's the Dragon Key? How wonderful!" She raised the radio. "Sunny do you hear that? We'll be able to get you out soon!"

"The room we explored just now was the place he died." He'd looked pale and shaken ever since they'd all regrouped, and presumably this was why. "I guess it's also possible Cat just recreated the room for some sick reason, but... It seemed too real."

He sighed, but then his expression became angry. "But, don't you dare lie to me! My father died shielding me with his body to protect me from a bomb! He wasn't stabbed!" He glared at Dr Uwem accusatorily. "What you're saying makes no fucking sense!"

"...Anyway, there wasn't too much else in the room, I'm afraid. There were three pictures of Fujisaki in the weapon room that we all just saw, though we don't know when they were taken. One showed him eatin' some meat, the other showed his feet stickin' out from some sorta sleeping pod and the last one showed him lookin' at his shoe. There was also this file of an article about Yang, though it was mostly stuff that the good general already told us. We did get a red envelope at the end, too, which is the most important bit for now." He nodded.

Hearing the others speak, he stayed silent until X spoke up. "Disappearance of that ambassador's son, you say? Could ya tell us more about it, perhaps? You or the minister over there", he gestured to Suyin. "Could be important to what we know so far."

"...Still, weird that they placed the burnt body there, in Juanli's room and all." He sniffed. "Think we asked her about it and she mentioned something about her shop burning before. Apparently nobody was hurt, but there ya go." He shrugged.

She takes her bag in her hands and mumbles something to herself, looking longingly towards the nearest empty room, or the direction to one.

Juanli held up her hands between Monk and Taikong. "N-now please, there's no need to fight we are all adults here."

She turned to Monk "Now Mr Monk, I trust Dr Uwems investigation as well but Mr Sun has a point. The dog tags could easily be fabricated or planted on another body to make it seem more like Mr Sun's father." She said.

She turned to Taikong "And Mr Sun, you have to forgive us for we did not mean to diminish the sacrifice your father made. I'm sure he was a very noble man to do that. I am surprised to hear it happened in this place. Could you tell us more about where we are?" She asked.

After looking into it for a few years, I was able to find out who kidnapped him. I found camera footage of a man named Bao taking the child from his home. After confronting him, he denied it of course. But he slipped up." Suyin smirked. "He knew the boy was American without me mentioning it. But that was about as far as I got. After that he called security and they threw me out. I don't even know if he still has the boy in his possession."

Sun Taikong looked uncomfortable at the thought of suddenly arming people. "I think this is an idea that could easily backfire. A lot," he said, looking around uneasily at the others. He then addressed General Mao specifically. "Sir, I think the presence of guns can make civilians uncomfortable. We also want to avoid anyone trying anything reckless... They might not succeed if they tried to take a gun from me, but someone will end up hurt in the process. Could we perhaps try sealing off the room entirely?"

X stands in front of the meridian gate of the armory. She smiles wide, "Anyone who slips away from us will quickly become an enemy. That is a strong pressure not to sneak away. Yang appears on a nearby monitor, interrupting the group’s discussion. She stares coldly at the group before launching into another explanation.

“The first Gifting Phase will now begin,” Yang explains, “You may conduct it from where you currently sta-aaaa—AaAAA—”

Yang’s image begins to glitch out, breaking into individual pieces and then reconfiguring itself multiple times. The computerized background spins around chaotically.

“The rules to the Gifting Pha—quite simple. Inside each Red Envelope—a small coin. 1 point of CDP. Help! I can’t breathe! I’m not breathing!”

Yang’s voice appears to switch at random between its normal, emotionless tone and a noticeably more panicked one.

“Alternatively, you may convert the coin into another hour for Sunny’s bomb,” Yang continues, “The slot—Is that you? Please, help me! I don’t know where I am! Simply place the coin in there.”

“You can alsoooooooooooh God! What’s happening to me?” the voice asks, “I can see everything. I can FEEL everything. Excuse me for the interruptions, this is quite bothersome.”

“As I was saying, Sunny’s bomb may only receive an additional three hours per Gifting Phase. For now, decide on how you wish to spend your red envelopes. The leaders of each room have—Shut your mouth! I’m trying speak! If you wish to donate points to Sunny, express your intentions to—I said, be quiet! Someone help! Please!”

“I am sorry, players,” Yang says, “This is completely abnormal. I will try to get this sorted. Please remain ca—aaaa—AAAAAAUGH!”

Yang’s body completely falls apart. The background behind her passes rapidly across the screen like TV static, emitting a steady buzz, before it suddenly fizzles out.

[The Gifting Phase has begun! The will operate the same way as the one in the other timeline, in spite of whatever shenanigans just happened.]

"Huh, did anyone hear that voice in addition to Yang's voice?" Dr. Uwem asked the others. It seems that he have quickly forgot about the argument with Taikong about his father.

"It sounds different from Yang's voice. What's going on?" The doctor seems lost in thought, almost as if he's figuring something out.

“He worked in security.” Suyin answered. “And his name is Sunny. That boy in the Dragon Room is the missing child.”

"Wait, but Benedict Clarkson's son was 2 years old at the time his father died in the incident... The incident was 4 years ago... So his kid would be 6 years old now... But the problem is... Juanli's Sunny is 8 years old. We all heard her say how old her Sunny was... Just what is going on?"

In contrast to Amethyst, Monk didn't pay attention to Yang malfunctioning. His eyes narrowed at Suyin. "So you can confirm the ambassador's kid is right there, huh? You must be awful sure of that. Did you see a photo of him? Did they look similar according to you?"

"I interpreted it differently", Monk muttered slowly. "I heard it as the kid was two years old when he got taken, not when his dad died. Tell me, when was the kid kidnapped? Could it have been two years before he perished in vain? Then it would add up perfectly... Tell me though, Suyin. How come he's now here, claiming to be under the care of the woman who's supposedly your sister? That can't be a coincidence, right? Unless you're telling me this American ambassador happened to marry this shopowner?" He laughed, looking at Juanli. "But then the kid wouldn't be missing anymore, right? Doesn't add up at all."

"Still... If you were so confident that the boy was his son, why didn't you say so? That's big news, y'know?" He glanced back at Suyin, a smirk apparent on his face.

“That boy can’t be the ambassador’s son!” Mao shouted, obvious panic in his voice. He quickly calmed himself however and addressed the group. “The Americans have always claimed that we were behind the stadium bombing. If a Chinese citizen kidnapped that boy, let alone one related to two prominent figureheads, it will be an international incident. The optics of it could make our allies turn against us.

“No, no. That’s not the ambassador’s son. It’s a coincidence—they just have the same name.” It sounded like Mao was trying to convince himself more than the others.
