Fujisaki somehow explains that he said Killer by mistake and it was all a big goof on Fujisaki's (player's) part and Mao being the kind old man he is understands the honest mistake and now we can all pretend that didn't happen and that he used the nice word "Attacker" instead!

It seems that no one was willing to confess, despite the threat of time. Eventually several people grow fed up with discussing the matter and leave the room.

Mao pays a visit to the armory and brings Taikong along. Taikong enters through the vent and collects guns for the two of them, plus Mei.

Meanwhile, Mei and Amandi are hard at work in the research lab, trying to develop a better understanding of what they’ve been injected with. Unfortunately, the two of them realize that they have no hope of engineering an antidote—certainly not in only three hours.

The others decide to begin searching the Archives, hoping something there will be of use.

Forty-five minutes pass…

The group in the Archives continues to search, but they aren’t having much luck. The scrolls and filing cabinets are stocked with so much information that it’s hard to tell what could even be relevant. However, they continue to comb through them, seeing no other way to save themselves.

Eventually, Amandi and Mei arrive to report their progress, or lack thereof. Mao and Taikong show up shortly afterward with weapons in tow.

The group is beginning to feel the effects of the toxin. The headaches become more intense, and their movements more sluggish. Amandi estimates that they have a little over an hour before the worst symptoms arrive—vomiting blood, seizures, and death. Hopefully the group will discover a miracle…

Therefore, the killer is male, and went on to kill in the future. They are also an excellent shot. There are only two people here old enough to be the killer in the story. The Ox and Dr. Uwem. But Dr. Uwem has a disability which would make him a poor shot. That means that the Ox is the killer. We also know that the Ox lived to kill again, as he would later become the leader of a killing group." ".... Come to think of it, back after we drained Fujisaki of his CDP, we all agreed to give him the red envelopes that we find in our rooms... Okay, maybe some of us didn't agree... So, after we found the red envelopes in our rooms, the leaders were tasked with who to donate the coins to... Taikong and Juanli both donated their coins to help Fujisaki out, and Mao chose to donate his own coin to... himself. I thought that he was being selfish..." Dr. Uwem said in response to X's deductive reasonings.

"Perhaps we're misunderstanding how the incident happened? What if Yin wasn't the intended target, but Fujisaki is? But because of the girl looking for the kite, the boy survived the incident... As for how the killer knew where to shoot... maybe it's the lanterns that Fujisaki and Yin were carrying?" He theorized. "Unfortunately, it seems like all we can do is speculates on what happened..."

"The General decided it was for the best, and I... couldn't stop him," Sun Taikong replied regretfully. "Once it was clear he would be armed regardless of my feelings on the matter, I didn't have much choice but to join in." Totting a gun and in the military uniform he'd been in since the start, he looked ready for war. He was clearly used to handling guns, as well.

He seemed to be elsewhere, looking beyond the room. In his head he could hear a clock ticking. It wasn’t until now where people realized how old the General really looked—every aging detail on his face more pronounced than ever.
