The devil trophy seems bad to use on small stages such as battlefield, Kirby would have the upper hand using this assist trophy and jigglypuff XD or any other character that can stay in midair for a period of time.

Yeeh, my desire for more info died. Pokemon Trainer showed that they're going in a good direction for variety, but until I see more, I'm more or less uninterested.

I'm kinda glad to see that I wasn't the only one to think of that. But this Assist trophy sure proves that any character could used in this game. *prays for a /Dog from Duck Hunt Assist Trophy* :garyuu:

So there's this new game mode that includes Stickers. You collect them from the stages and can use them to decorate photos and such from an album. You can even save screenshots of them to the Wii if you'd like.

I'm not sure what practical purpose this could serve aside from being a time waster. The stickers do seem to include characters and items from unrepresented games (Rawk Hawk from Paper Mario: TTYD, Wario's convertable, among others), so there's a plus, I guess.

EDIT: Of course, the whole sticker thing pales in comparison to the revelation of being able to save screenshots (and hopefully being able to e-mail them). I can already tell, though, that at least half of said screenshots will probably be attempts at upskirt shots. >_>;

I wouldn't think so. Partially because Sakurai mentions the stickers to be "easier to get than trophies", which implies that trophies are still in the game. Mostly though, since the playable characters are depicted as trophies brought to life in the story mode, not to mention the assist trophies, they heavily imply that collectable trophies are back.

We have a semi-new technique, Tether Recovery. It's basically like Samus's whip or Link's hookshot from the last game, in that it grapples you to the end of the stage as you fall, though it doesn't seem that you need to be close/level to the stage for the tether to work.

Also, the tether seems to be the up special move for Zero Suit Samus, though other characters can aparrently use it as well.

You know, revisiting the Pokémon Trainer character, I wonder if they'll do new 'skins' for each generation. Like this:

Squirtle -> Ivysaur -> Charizard
Totodile -> Bayleef -> Thyplosion
Mudkip -> Grovyle -> Blaziken
Piplup -> Grotle -> Infernape

Or some switcheroos. I think that'd be neat, and seeing as to how they're bringing a quadrupedile (Ivysaur) in as a fighter, anything goes, I guess.

Today's update is Peach, though I can't say I'm surprised she's back after that video from a couple of weeks ago.

Her new design is nice, at least better than her standard look for the last few years. Her moves appear to be the same, though it seems Toad has somewhat increased in size (or was given a bigger head).

I wouldn't count on it. Not only are most of those Pokémon several different sizes from the current ones, but they each walk, attack and generally animate differently, which would require unnecessary work for an extra feature. Changing the Pokémon Trainer would be an easier option..

While I could see alternate costumes being used to get more characters/clones in the game, I doubt that they would change the character that much. If they do include other trainers from the magna/anime/games they would still use the three PT uses.

Well, I guess someone had to make the joke. So, now with it out of the way, I can move on.

I really like Peach's dress now as it finally looks like something a Princess would wear. I mean, Zelda has a designed fill dress for years now while Peach is finally just getting it now. I wonder if Peach will be looking like this in Super Mario Galaxy?

The only real disappontment with this update is her umbrella. I was kinda hoping that she would be getting that magical talking umbrella of hers from Super Princess Peach. I mean, She has gimmicks from other games she's been like The Vegatables from SMB2 and the Frying Pan from Game and Watch Gallery 3(?) or Toad from the Super Mario series overall.

I was impressed with Peach's detailed design, until I realized that her skirt was not a complex set of polygons, but simply a tent, like it was in Melee. In some shots you will be fooled into thinking it has multiple layers, but...

Then again, videophiles aren't the ones who will be playing this game.

And I will be playing this game.

What do you guys think of the "prophet" on gamefaqs? In case you havn't heard he predicted that a newcomer and a vet would be confirmed last week. He claims to have insider knowledge but does not want to spoil the whole list yet, only alot of people will be dissapoint with their characters list/predictions cause many of the repeats are ATs only. He has also stated the following.

34 characters in the game not including transformations
Shiek is still Zelda's Down B special
Tom Nook is NOT playable
20 Starting characters, 14 hidden
Lucas will replaces Ness and will be the next newcomer shown.
6 characters from SSBM are gone, 1 was also in SSB (Ness, Ice Climbers, Dr. Mario, Pichu, Roy, Young Link/Falco*)

He did say that IC is gone and Ness is replaced by Lucas, but he never said which other vets were cut. Ganondorf was confirmed in an interview with the guy in charge of the Zelda franchise. I think of all the clones YL/Falco are the two most likly to be given a new move set.

Personally I think 34 sounds like the right amount of characters, and if Lucas is the next newcomer on the SSBB dojo site, I'll believe him 100%. Some argue his predictions are "Obvious" or "luck based upon fan speculation", but I dunno. I'm just glad he hasn't leaked the full list.

Good topic with all his insider knowledge is here

I can tell you that's all a load of crap. This is a very common way of trolling on GameFAQs (and other forums, though I've mostly seen it there) where some random nobody shows up and claims to have a friend/relative/contact working on a game, or that they know the future, then gives out "secret, unreleased information" that either can't be backed up by facts or can't be proven until the game comes out several months later.

It's just a lie to get attention. One right "prediction" isn't nearly enough to back up his claims, which seem far too specific to be trustworthy.

I've seen that and understand the concept, personally many of his predictions were ones I've seen before/believe myself (Ice Climbers getting removed, mid 30's ish amount of characters, Lucas replacing Ness, etc.)

Pft. If he's going to me 'predictions' then they have to be something out of left field. These look like the ramblings of a fan boy making a list.

Today's update is merely a relisting of Link's moves, though they've all been given TP makeovers.

The Gale Boomerang works the same as the regular boomerang did in Melee, though now it also creates a whirlwind that brings the foe(s) back to you as well. The Clawshot's also the same as the hookshot was in Melee, except when fired in midair it automatically aims for the closest grapplable ledge for easier recovery. Also, you can now charge the Spin Attack, but other than that, the rest of the moves seem to be about the same.

Today's update is about the enemy force in the Subspace Emissary adventure mode, the Subspace Army. The footsoldiers of the army are called the Primids, which come in several varieties, and they're lead by a person named the Ancient Minister.

Their goal is to cut apart the world and drag it into subspace; to do so they plant bombs held up by two R.O.B.s (yes, the Nintendo rob), which when detonated pulls whatever the blast radius engulfs into Subspace.

EDIT: Here's the included video. The highlights include the R.O.B.s arming the bomb countdown, Mario getting Team Rocket'd out of the stadium by a cannonball and the princesses getting kidnapped by a fairly oversized version of Petey Piranha.
